Hello friends! In this video I paint the beautiful Marion Cotillard, playing the muse “Adriana” in the movie “Midnight in Paris” by Woody Allen. This is one of my favorite movies and I love her character so much. Here I painted on an 11x14 canvas panel, with water-mixable oil paint. I tried to focus on painting loose, as I always aim to do, and I like how it turned out. I hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think :)

I love this video. So many of the things you said really hit home for me. I feel like I hit an ugly stage in every piece that I do and at this point I know to push past the ugly, because it's just part of the process and I need to trust that the piece will turn out eventually - even if I have to take a break and step away for a bit. You did a wonderful job with this painting - it's beautiful!

Great video as usual! Valerie Lin(another art channel-i think you would love her) is always talking about "flow state" ... she is the only person I have ever heard use that term, until you just now!
Ps- my sister LOVES the glasses! If I ever get a prescription for glasses i am going to get those, too.

Ah yes! I know Valerie Lin, she's amazing! I actually read a book on the flow state a couple of years ago :) It's called "Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi if you're interested!

sometimes you just have to erase parts of your art to make it work, but getting rid of those areas can be so hard but its usually for the better 😀
