- Got my hands on a Comp Mag Gen 3, and I’m pretty happy with it.
.
Not only do I get to keep my bolt catch, but it’s also easy to clear malfunctions. My favorite part though is how easy it is to switch it back to normal if you visit a free state!
The purpose of this option isn’t to use it for home defense. The purpose is to be able to own the firearm with all the features and no Frankenstein modifications.
Exactly. Wouldn’t be my go to for self defense. In CA we can’t have suppressors, and I kinda like my hearing. Hell this thing is so freaking loud. My wife absolutely hates it. It’s the only gun she says is absolutely ridiculous.
California: Is that a 420 69 ar style semi fully automatic war weapon of mass destruction 😱
🤣 I know it’s not an AR14.
that’s the ar 47 with the 30 caliber magazine clip that shoots 30 rounds in half a second
308 pistol? jesus got enough unburned power to reload half the box after
You honestly do. You can see the powder excess in the flash signature. At night it makes glorious fireballs. It’s also loud as hell.
I have the Gen 2 comp mag that just requires tightening and loosening a standard flathead screw to get the thing in and out. I think it’s easier to get out and it doesn’t require that weird tool. I think it’s better
I have one of those also, but for the 15 platform. I agree it gives peace of mind not having to have the tool, but I think you could just use a small flat wire if you had to. Maybes old metal coat hanger?
I wonder why they don’t build a mag that takes stripper clips like the Garand does.
Right. There’s a loader that lets you load through ejection port. 3D files are also out there for it. Haven’t tried it. CA needs to get with the program, and quit infringing on our rights. They used the 2 step approach to create these draconian laws, and were directly instructed to stop. They’re only to used text history, and tradition. Yet even in the more recent Boland ruling they didn’t eliminate the Handgun Roster…. Yes we did get a small win , and micro stamping went away. Along with the for every new gun added 3 get removed. So we now have a few actual New guns on the list of things that are ok for us Californians to buy from a store.
.
You know because the stores not capable of explaining/demonstrating use/safety, but buying private party for 3 times the price makes them safer.
Can u show us how u would pop the pin in the rifle if you go to a free state to make it shoot and run the way weapons are supposed to
Never would I ever stoop so low as to have to clear a jam by removing the BASEPLATE of my magazine.... Ffs what has this world come to....
Yup not in any way ideal, fair, cool, or even constitutional. However if we don’t have it as a fixed Mag in CA it’s an evil “AW”. Now thanks to the brace BS it’s even worse. In CA we can’t have any NFA items… so we couldn’t register if we wanted to. Left with only swap barrel to 16”, surrender brace, destroy brace, or put brace on different gun with 16” barrel 😂. Either way thanks for watching
Yes, it's a great option. 👍🇺🇸
I’m happy with it.
@@2A_CaliGuy cool 👍
Why not go with the ar maglock and king pin?
@@certainpointofview3860 I’ll have to check it out. Is it similar to the JT kit, but you get to keep bolt lock?
@@2A_CaliGuy I just moved from Cali, but it is by far the best system! You get to keep all of your features! And re load in about 3 seconds
The Framework of AR-15 LAW in California, also includes the question "Is the AR-15 Readily Convertable to "Assult Weapon?"
so, if in a Self Defense Situation, if you kill someone. that question may be raised in court, the possiblity of you being in possession of an Assault Weapon. how could you prove you wern't? you can't! ("Burden of Evidence")
I woun't want to be fined $100,000 or go to jail.
I wouldn’t use it for home defense. Thing is ridiculously loud. Feel like you need ear plugs, and ear pro. I’d prefer a shotgun for home defense.
How is the .308 pistol ca compliant ? I thought those have to be on roster
Can you explain how to get the .308 pistol lover in Ca? I can’t find one anywhere
So they are tough to find. Only law enforcement, or other exempt people can Dros a lower receiver as a semi automatic pistol. Then in terms of building it. You have to remember no matter what these type have to be fixed mag because of the CA laws.
one can have an ar pistol in ca? can someone clarify this please?
Now i see why everybody over there is moving to texas
Funny you say that. We’ve been looking at Texas as the place to go for a long time!
New Yorker here. I love it here in Brownsville!!
You have my support cuz you know 2A community and all. Buuuuuut this is not and option I would recommend even on a range toy!
😂 thanks. The mag broke first day at the range. Manufacturer sent replacement parts, but I definitely don’t feel confident in it anymore 😝. Will probably switch to a JT button soon. Thanks for watching
Also, where’d you get the comp mag?
Picked it up at a gun show awhile back.
Since this has a fixed mag, doesn’t the barrel length have to be 16.5 inches or it must be single shot?
It’s a semi auto pistol. The Dros is done as a semi auto pistol. That’s the important part. It has to be fixed mag because of the AW laws in CA.
@@2A_CaliGuy Right on! Thanks for clarifying brothah.
Man the freedoms youre missing just by being in another state id imagine a binary trigger is the worst thing since christianity to them isnt it
Right. Crazy that by living on the other side of an imaginary line you have no rights. Binary trigger is 100% no go here. The crazy thing is the people that vote for gun restrictions here want to be entitled to their other constitutional rights. It was made clear that text history, and tradition are what determine if a gun law is constitutional, but yet they still use the interest balancing way. They think new laws will stop criminals, but forget that criminals don’t follow laws anyways. To me it has nothing to do with preventing crime, but rather it’s a power grab. As our current governor doesn’t see us as equals we’re what he calls civilians 😝
whats good for home defense now instead of this? lmao always restrictions on ppl with good common sense
Hopefully soon things will change, and all states will have their constitutional rights. Thanks for watching!
So without that tool you can’t take out the magazine? And they don’t give you one?
The one I got came with the tool, but yeah you need something to remove it. I feel like if you didn’t have it or lost it you could get a piece of metal like a section of close hanger, and remove it.
@@2A_CaliGuy Gotcha! I appreciate the response! I just ordered my first rifle today haven’t done too much research and was shocked on what these damn democrats are doing to guns nowadays lol 10 round magazines , fixed magazine’s , even want you to have that fin that covers the handle
Yeah it’s a bit ridiculous here. Hopefully the nonsense in 2020, and seeing how hard it was for Ukraine to defend themselves without their citizens already being armed, and trained. Got most people to think about it, and vote 🗳️ out those that want to strip our freedoms, and treat us like less than equals.
@@michaelwhalen8165I have the Gen 2 comp mag. It just has a standard flathead screw that you tighten and loosen to get the thing in and out. It seems easier and faster and it doesn’t require that stupid tool. I don’t see how Gen 3 is an improvement
Juggernaut tactical.
The JT is definitely a cool solution to this, and if you pair it with a different front part you can keep your bolt lock. But hands down the JT is one of my favorite Fixed mag solutions
Is this actually legal though?
In California yes. Lower was PPT as semi auto pistol. In CA it has to be fixed Mag. There’s other options like the JT hellfighter etc.
@@2A_CaliGuy thank you. Appreciate you
Anytime.
Pistol yes
"pistol"
Correct it’s a pistol.
im confused about gun specification how is THIS a pistol
Receiver was ran as a semi auto pistol. It’s built as a pistol.
No idea what you are talking about never had to neuter my guns in my state
You are blessed to live in America. I’m from Komifornia
“Out of state”
Right. Perhaps one day.
Don’t comply 🤷🏻
😂. I like my dogs
Very gay
🤣 definitely not normal .
@@2A_CaliGuyhow do you reload if you can’t take the mag out?
@@Matt-ig2ex the side has a window. You pull the follower down open window, and set rounds in. Not fast, or efficient. 100% there are better solutions to CA nonsense. I’d prefer the ridiculous laws that violate our constitutional rights end, but until then this is one of the options if you want to have AR pistols in CA, and make videos about them.
@@2A_CaliGuy yea man I’m from AR so we don’t have to worry about nothin.
You can own real guns in other states.
No joke. No roster for handguns, and you can even own ARs/AKs without having to neuter them. I keep saying hopefully soon Californians will have rights, but I’m not sure if California is even part of American anymore.
