- We go back to the Kruger at the end of the South African summer. Still at Lower Sabie but we head back down towards Crocodile Bridge hoping to find the tree-climbing lions again - and we find them!

Many thanks for a great series of videos. We were inspired and ended up booking our own trip to Kruger in September. We have returned having a wonderful experience. If you return I can recommend staying at Mopani, if only for the spectacle of the birds flying over the restaurant terrace at sunset.
Thanks. Glad you got to experience the magic of Kruger for youselves. We have been to Mopani before and enjoyed our stay there. Slightly different from the other camps.

Wow! You are a lion magnet. When I watch your videos all is right with the world. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this series. How many hours of footage does it take for one episode? We went to Kruger in April /May of this year and still haven't organized or begun editing our photos. How do you begin?
Many thanks for you appreciation. As you know it's not wildlife all the way in the Kruger so out of 10 or more hours driving I probably end up with 2 to 3 hours of footage each day. I try to get that down to about 15 to 20 minutes per day for the video. This current 10 part series took me about 3 months to edit! I've got photos from previous trips that will probably never be edited but I've found the easiest way to cope with it is just to dip in and pick out the best shots and then keep going back for more!
Hello. Around what time do the bats fly out of the boxes? Hope to see it next week when I'm in KNP
It's at dusk which is usually about half an hour after the camp gates close. Handy if you can get a unit with the boxes outside but there are usually seats nearby. You might have to hang about for half an hour or so as the sun goes down.
