@@GldnClaw Haha... no. It's become a bit less lethal and debilitating to those already exposed, (still pretty bad for the vulnerable pop.) but it's highly infectious, and due to the way the US works, no one is willing or able to self-isolate when sick, thus perpetuating the transmission cycle indefinitely. This is just life now.
Hope you bounce back 100%! I got it for the first time a year ago and haven't felt the same since.
@@firekirby123 I mean, don't just put it on the U.S.. The disease exists across the world. I mean, I gotta ask: Why would people think it would have stopped after the AMERICAN election cycle? Y'all know we have elections here in Canada as well, right?
Sorry, I got distracted! Anyway, yeah, the disease is worldwide, and it's here to stay. The only way I can think of getting fully rid of it is if the ENTIRE world, every single individual on the planet, sick or not, agreed to just stay in their home, fully isolated, for a few weeks. And that includes stores, emergency services, the whole thing. Which would also be bad in its own way: Your house is catching on fire? Well, too bad, we're getting rid of COVID, all the firemen are isolated! Not to mention, obviously, not everyone will agree to this plan, and they'll keep spreading the disease, ruining the plan for everyone else.
So, yeah, COVID, it's part of the world now. But with vaccines and prior infections, it's not as bad as before. Yes people will die from it, and that's unfortunate, but people dies from the flu all the time as well; we just don't talk about it 'cause we're used to the flu, it's an old disease. Maybe at one point COVID will be the same, once it's no longer "new".
Allison's "No" was so heartbreaking. If you pause right there, you can see the moment her innocence shatters.

On the outside I laughed but on the inside I cried. I also laughed on the inside but like 30/60 laugh to cry ratio
The moment I saw the tree was a different size, I immediately started questioning if this was an episode where magical nonsense exists, or one where the characters are just insane.
The fact that both were acceptable possibilities and I was still caught off guard by the ending makes this better than most movies that came out this year.
50% IKEA sells ice cream and AI and 50% Kyle is going to buy ice cream from IKEA.
I like how you specified "most" movies, because Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse came out this year.

When my daughter is a little older, I'm definitely gonna get trees of different sizes and swap them while she sleeps so she thinks the tree grew. Kids need magic in their lives!

Let's be honest, if this were real life, it would be Allison trying to trick Kyle into believing a Christmas tree miracle, and then spitefully telling him Santa isn't real.

Kyle has a real talent for comedic timing. I remember when he stepped away from videos for a while and immediately that snappy timing went away until he came back.

Poor Allison, never grew up with the joy of bringing in a cut sapling months early to grow into a full tree by Christmas. A true family tradition.
Man, most of the baubles falling off at the start caught me so off guard, I had to rewind a few times before I could get over it. Was that intentional or did you just roll with it? (great video, also, you've still got your comedic chops!)

This really feels like a continuation of the Spending and Saving sketch (The coupon episode).
We have this seemingly innocent and money happy Kyle which is discovering this 'new' concept and Allison is there to try and explain it in detail to him.

I love that this beat my prediction in the best way. When I first saw the tree was getting bigger I was guessing the books he read were magic/time traveling, or the food was plutonium. I love the “oh wait it’s just a cheap magician technique” twist.
