    The 1.0 seemed a little ambitious given the current rate of development.

    I like trains plenty but... Would there even be a reason to use them? The world just isn't big enough, and with the recent mechanical changes to motivate the use of watercraft it makes even less sense I feel. I hope the animal husbandry stuff is well fleshed out, with things like being able to make hay/strawbales and different feeds for the different critters. Heck, you could even use byproducts from different processes in their feed (Like what is a common practice in pig farming)

      I completely agree with the Animal Husbandry - great potential there for a lot of gameplay and depth!

      I would hope trains allow a large throughout at the very least. Have you ever tried moving a LLS worth of rock halfway across the world by truck? Also, I might be influenced by the bias of playing on dadspeed with a larger world size than what they technically “support”

      @@assimilater-quicktipsYes actually, when I used to play on Dadspeed I was a mix of gatherer, miner and porter. Which meant I was often all around the place. Never seemed like much of an issue. Probably even less of an issue now with watercraft. Don't get me wrong, I'm a bit of a foamer (Fan of trains) but I just can't see it doing much considering you'd have to haul to/from a train station anyway. I imagine the devs know it might not have much of a use so they'll likely force it to be used in one way or another... Also I need to get back on Dadspeed, it's been almost a year since I've played Eco.

      @@MischaB1987 I was often all around the place as well, but moving an LLS when I became an advanced Mason and needed a TON of rock was a new experience. I had a goal of having a full LLS of every type of rock ashlar and I would spend 8 hours moving rock for several days, without actually achieving that goal (I did get close as I recall). The amount you could move at a time with a truck per just wasn’t enough for that need 😅

      I would assume that a train could carry a much larger load than anything currently in the game. It could have multiple storage cars in it each holding something the size of a truck for example. This would allow for more heavy machinery to be brought into the game as well for loading and unloading at station. If you had a mine up in the mountains, but your refinery was far off on the beach somewhere, you could have a train running between them, use the heavy mining machines to load a ton of stuff on the train, move that to your pier and load boats or something. It could be a lot faster and more smooth than the current way of doing things, also more fun.@@MischaB1987

    An absolute necessity is a scarecrow on a pole at the road fork.
    Now, how are things down on the farm? Sheep being fed? Crops harvested? Trees growing? Inquiring minds, you know. 😊

      The "Farm" will make a re-appear very soon! We're reaching a critical point on sheep production and need to get some coverage on that - stay tuned!

    I hope they fix the current profession system. IMO to much Collab, everyone in everything business. Leading to collapse of many a server when one player goes afk. For reasons such as: bored, work, sick, whatever. Only to see days of work of the rest of the server go up in flames.
    With 3,800 hours played. This game used to be fun, yes servers failed. But we tried hard to save them, because with a united effort, maybe it could be done. With the current system, seen failure after failure. No longer fun, just frustration.

    i'd love to see how you feel dad speed server is working atm. my biggest issue is the fact that there isn't enough margins for people to be traders. the buy price for stuff is for the most part the same as the sale price. also while i love tunnels it makes boats useless when they are built/dug

    • @Oearth
      @Oearth  Před 4 měsíci

      Agree with the tunnels - I'd like to see pure reliance on boats, but that's just my own view. Economy-wise, this season is a little bit of an experiment with with the new Town system. Before, DS could have a central government that had a bit more influence over global pricing, still organic, but a little a little established from the buy and sell price the government would apply to build projects, contracts, and the like. Here, with multiple leaders, multiple currencies it's harder. There's also what is probably the greater impact of general unity of players adhering to the honor-system server guideline of buy products for higher than others are selling. That again comes back somewhat to the distributed governments where there 'should' be oversight of those trade prices at the more local level, but it's hard to do that. Economically, it's a tough game to have both player freedom and global profit margins - it's even a little harder now with distributed governments and currencies. Just some thoughts.

      @@Oearth yer its difficult when its so distributed between settlements. my fear is that becuase its less structured or at least left to the individual islands/countries that it has put people off from playing for quit as long. i'm finding it hard to find ingredients as a good portion of the farmers have either left or only log in every 2-4 days. just wish there was a medium ground structuring the economy to make it possible for people to encourage them to keep playing. its working well on luna. could there be a set of laws that are recomended to be put in place by the leaders of each nation, those laws encourage trade. this way its still freedom but leaders can see the benefit of adopting the suggested laws. (i personaly want to learn laws but each time i try i get it wrong hehe)

    my hope is with some of these changes they do not take away the ability to still play alone. I play alone so there is no rush on things plus I have no friends that play.

    • @Oearth
      @Oearth  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I might be bias, but a casual long-play server like DadSpeed would let you definitely go at your own pace and still enjoy some major aspects of the game your missing. Solo allows the building and any personal progression, but the trade, economics, traveling to other cities/locations, seeing other ppls builds, and government stuff does get missed when on solo. I think solo will play will be just like it is now in the future, but I would say to give a server a try - it's really just a matter of finding one that suites how you like to play...some are races to the end, some are slow and casual.

      My friend and I have a world from update 9 that we have been playing on and off for the last three years. We never updated to update 10, and never will for two reasons. 1. The game is incredible clunky and slow, there's too many animations and it feels like you are swinging your tools in slow motion. And 2, our old world doesn't load on update 10, even after transferring it.
