As an Aussie, We love it when the die hard cricket fans from England come over for cricket. Their chants are hilarious. We can take it. It’s all a good laugh. They get really creative too. 😂😂

Adam Johnson went to jail for being a predator towards a 15 year old girl I think who was a supporter of Sunderland (who he played for at the time)

These are the tamer chants... they can get vicious! :D All a part of being football supporter in the crowd
I was very young when my biological parents died. I never knew them at all. I did get passed around all over the world to different families. I think I was about 14 and I went to see Burnley play football and I was hooked. My "grandpa" took me and he said you can swear all you want in the songs but when we get back in the car there is no more swearing and no telling 'Grandma'. lol.
It can be allot to take in if you're from overseas, but it's all in good humour, and there is no filter, but Brits don't mince their words.

Football chants are very different to nation to nation. The UK does more so piss taking than other countries. Its part of UK culture to piss take another person, team, players in chants. Its mostly entertainment and tribal rivalries that clash for decades before and decades to come.
I love it when Americans see how our culture is when it’s football and they love it as well. Big ups to you mate

I haven't been to the footie for ages. I don't know how or who makes them up but they are sooo funny and cleverly done. It's all about taking the mick out of the opposition, great banter.
For goodness sake take at least a day out if you look into Saville & Johnson.
The fans on the bus were singing about the fact that their team was going to be relegated to a lower league for the next season, but were "confident" they'd win enough matches to only stay there for that footie year.

These are the tame chants.
Arsenal chants are tame in general, poor support.
The plant pot chant (I wasn't there) was when Bolton were losing 4-0 at home and the home crowd stopped caring or watching and just had fun with a plant pot :)

A few of these maybe lost on you, similar to me to me being in an American football ground.
The "Songs" are directed at the opposition mainly, as each team supporters hate each other.
If mobiles were around in the 70's/early 80's they would be far worse, the hatred was on a different level as was the violence. Now it is a lot different and the songs quite funny, and I am pleased about that.
The tunes (and I use that term loosely) behind the chants are just ripped off from other songs (or classical music pieces, nursery rhymes, etc) so people already know them, then once a couple guys start singing one they just spread.
Did you recognise some of the more well known melodies like Kum Ba Yah, Yankee Doodle or the Addams Family theme?

British football fans. Known world-wide as thoroughly polite and well-mannered. Lol.
England fans recently got threatened with prosecutions at the recent euros over a chant we sing at games against Germany.

the UEFA leaders apparently believe that the song about defeating the Nazi's quote 'promotes overt nationalism' and shouldn't be allowed

Yeah if you went to a game there would be chanting like this, especially a game between rivals (man utd vs liverpool, tottenham vs arsenal, newcastle vs sunderland etc etc)

It's definitely 1.8 miles, and also briefly appeared in a drama a few years ago.
I'm also just 1.5 to 2 miles away from 2 regularly used filming locations (among other lesser used locations) in the world's first UNESCO City of Film not that anyone realises.

There's different chants. Some are about your team and backing your team. Others, like most of these, are about the opposition team and their fans. Europe doesn't allow opposition fans to sit next to each other because it turns violent so around 3000 fans travel and sit in a section together. Chants are then directed at them.

For me, one of the funniest chants is that there's a player called Jonjo Shelvey who's bald and looks like Voldemort, and fans were chanting at him "Harry Potter, he's coming for you". Even he found it hilarious
That was West Ham who started that!

I was in the crowd for the chant "SHE SAID NO FERGIE" I think we lost the match but it was a great match and awesome atmosphere

Some of them do make you go 'ooooohhh', but when they're funny, they're funny. Ive been to 1 football match, my local team, I think it's smaller teams that have the best chants, going by crowd and pitch sizes in the video, small teams that don't win a lot, so the fans have to make their own entertainment, I think anyway. This was the one I had watched when I recommended this, I knew it would have you reacting all sorts of ways lol. Thanks 😁💛

Chants like' You fat bastard' are for the intimidation of the opponents goal keeper. The goalie's swap ends of the pitch in the second half and play the other way.

The majority of chants in this video where Leeds United fans and being Leeds fan myself I recognize a lot of these chants they come mostly from the away supporters, the die hards the most hard core of the fan base that travel to every game home and away, I suggest you seek out Leeds chants you'll hear a lot of these chants again.

No i wasnt in any of the crowds haha. Yea the 40quid was the cost of the ticket. Good reaction though. i found a couple of them near the nuckle! however as someone said in comments about Adam Johndon, so no need to explain who he is, lol. but the blow up and the plantpot was funny ones! Yea some of the chants are just made up as they go along kinda thing.

problem with some of the chants is you have to know the person or people mentioned in the chants and the events surrounding them.
