it's ridiculously complicated. My approach would be to just think of each measure in and of itself as a month long study. If you take that approach you'll get immense value from it. But if you try and think you'll get the song you might burn out and waste time.

Your highly detailed, bar by bar analysis is exactly what I what I need. After 6 days, I’ve got the first 8 bars solid at about half (?quarter!) speed and I actually think I can get it. The part where you messed up at the beginning made me laugh. No offense intended.. You’re light years beyond me on guitar. I laughed because I’m watching someone slip on a complex piece of playing, and I can’t even pick my own songs on video without messing up each take. Something about being recorded gives me nervous fingers. 🙄
Yeah. You just embrace it and keep rolling. People often don't realize that to get a piece performance ready can take literally hundreds of rehearsals of the song. At the moment my performance days are behind and hopefully in front of me. But currently I'm a dad and a teacher. So if I can't get the thing by take 10 I'm just publishing what I got! Ha, not enough time in the day to do it all.

I think you're hearing the double stops being slid up and down the neck. It definitely replicates a pedal/lap steel/Dobro kind of thing.
