The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

I love how Mulder is an Oxford educated psychologist who then entered the FBI and yet seems to delight in trolling people or getting a read on them by catching them off guard. You can see how his training helps him quickly size up who he can trust but he does everything in a humorous manner to keep people guessing.
Hey, it's also great that Mulder is spending FBI money like crazy!

You should check out the blu-ray releases! The X-Files has never looked more glorious! I must admit that I was a bit resistant to the idea of Seasons 1 - 4 being "upgraded" from pan and scan (4:3) to widescreen (16:9) but after watching the episodes in HD, I was completely won over.
It's pretty bizarre
I don't like seeing the old clips in HD. Because they were originally 4:3. So, HD is cutting off some of the videos. That's really annoying to me.

Thank God they made one of Mulder too!!! I was beginning to wonder if they were trying to play tribute to Scully......Love both of them.....there is no x files without both Mulder and Scully....they are the fire that kept the show going :)

Psychology, chemistry, the FBI, gore, a bit of “dark knight” photo filter with all the silver, black and dark blue/green shades, there is absolutely no chance that anyone would call this series’ BS, it hurts no one!
