“Never compare your current work with someone who’s been doing it far longer than you” I needed to hear this, I do traditional and sometimes digital art and I keep comparing my art to people with such more experience 😅
I was 100% speaking from experience when i said that, so I truly do know the feeling! We can be so hard on ourselves and have the pressure of our fast results culture on our shoulders but great things take time! I think even now people can look at any of my social media pages and think it happened overnight without realizing I have been on some of these platforms for years! So don't get disheartened at all you are doing great and as long as you stay relatively consistent you will achieve your dreams!
i know right i constantly beat myself up bc of that and i felt useless. then i realized that the same thing may have happened to them too, and i’m really not that bad!
Thank you dear! 🙌💖 Just trying to go with the flow and try new types of video styles hehe sometimes it can be hard to think of new topics to discuss 🤪 Hope you are doing well too!!
my favorite quote i’ve heard is “imagine how many talents you would have if you allowed yourself to be a beginner”, it really put things into perspective for me
my best friends from Malaysia, she went there for her cousins wedding over the summer holidays and she got henna..needless to say I was so jealous it was beautiful
This applies to every field. I’m currently working on an animation, but I’m losing motivation because I feel like trash compared to people whose job is to animate. I really needed to hear this.
I'm a Trinidadian who has been doing mehndi since I was around 10 years old. I'm now 18 but I still feel like I have a lot to learn. Maybe when I'm a little bit more financially stable I'll start to learn how to actually make the stuff lol. I really love seeing your videos pop up in my shorts feed. It reminds me of very happy times with my family during Diwali
My old daycare used to have henna days where one of our experienced teachers would do designs for us, she was the sweetest lady and always loved doing henna for us. I think she made the smell of henna a comfort thing for me now
Another reason to document the designs you don't like is that with more experience you're more likely to see what it is about those designs that don't work, find elements you might like and figure out changes you can do to improve those designs. I'm not a henna artists, but I make lace and I often find that the designs I end up not liking are the ones I learn the most from! I also used to be such a perfectionist that I would spend hours fixing every little mistake (with needle lace it can often involve having to make an entire element over again), but I would always find more-- once I stopped worrying so much about it I found that my lace looks a lot better with the little mistakes as it flows better and looks more organic and mystical! I know with henna you can't just go in and make little corrections, and I think that's part of what makes it so beautiful, it's unique every time
Thanks for the great explanation sir I've heard insights of many people implying this as a bad conjunction and it makes a person bad but i can't relate to it as i see through everything and i go against the tide. I don't let the matrix control me ur truly a gem sir
Hey do you have a henna brand! I’m into it myself and can’t find a good brand that I like! I saw and love your work and was just wondering. But if you don’t have a henna brand can you point me to a good one! I love your work and I’m a huge fan!
Hi! I love your artwork, and your voice is so soothing!! I just purchased my henna beginner's kit from your online shop, and I can't wait to learn and create my own designs. Thank you so much!! 🩷🌌✌🏼💫🪷
Your work is beautiful. I like to paint and I remember struggling so much with my first painting and now I look back and go wow I’ve come so far! I cannot imagine you can get any better because everything’s so beautiful!!
You're such an inspiration with the kind words and positivity you spread. I love watching your work and improving mine as we go along ❤ loved how honest you were on this short wIth yourself. I learnt from your reflections..
First I have to say you have a truly lovely, delightfully melodious, soothing voice. Thank you for sharing these life experiences and advice as it’s a great reminder since it’s quite common to turn to social media for inspiration and then end up simply becoming despondent or harsh on yourself. We must bear in mind we are only viewing the highly condensed and edited snapshot of a final product that more than likely involved a lengthy, often messy, complex process including false starts, redos, setbacks and mistakes etc. We are rarely shown the failures and disappointments nor do we witness the many hours of hard work, emotional labour, self doubt and overcoming challenges it took to get to the point they are currently at. Everyone will have their own journey which is what will make things uniquely their own. Mistakes and “failures” are how we learn and having an open positive mindset can actually lead to some “happy accidents” and discovering new areas or ideas to explore. As they say comparison is the thief of joy plus it is faulty premise to compare a person’s “outside” to our “inside” - whatever it may be there always going to be someone out there who seems better, faster, cleverer, richer, more beautiful, more talented, more fortunate yet conversely there will also be many others who have been blessed with much less but ultimately these facts end up having very little true bearing on our actual daily lives. Focus on what you can do and what you do have as life is short and you only have limited resources so use it wisely.
I was just looking at my henna when this video popped up! As an Indian, Henna is really common here and it's absolutely gorgeous. Keep doing what you love

Question: Can men do henna on their hands and feet too?
It isn’t traditional but hey if a man wants to do henna who’s gonna stop him? Henna is art and gender absolutely doesn’t matter
Your voice is so calming 😊
