Ainz Stainton highly reccomend it. The movie is only 50% of the book because the other 50% is inappropriate. Each diary is anonymous for security purposes, but what you read, you’ll know whose who.
If only we had more teacher's like Ms Gruell. She broke down all false hope and barriers that other's failed or were scared to deal with. If only you knew teaching was not just teaching, it is about a person's life history, a person's ambitions and a person's future. Faamalosi Ms Gruell, you will leave a massive legacy behind.
if only i had had a teacher like that when i was 15. This teacher is one of a kind. A true hero. God bless her for all she did for those kids. IAlso enjoyed the movie its one of the few. that i rated at 10.
My fav movie of all time, it goes to my top 3. I’ve seen this movie for 10 times or more. I have the book of the stories. I’m so happy that someone like this teacher exists!!! ❤❤❤
Giving people, especially impressionable young people, positive guidance. It can really inspire them to be their best self. There is no shame in being born poor. But helping them get themselves out of the poor and dangerous neighborhoods they were born into, that takes a very dedicated and caring Saint. I’m happy for all of them.
Okay so I just finished watching this Oct. 28, 2017 and it had me crying my eyes out like a little baby. This was a good movie..If every school had a Mrs. G this world would be alot better.
she is my hero. I love this Teacher so much. She was not only their teacher she was their second mother. I am also very proud of these former students, I know they all are still taking the world by storm by the way I am reading the book right know and I am already blown away!!
“ 💛 “ Being the light in others dark world . Simply Beautiful. I seen the movie , yet it’s an honor to see this video of the students and teacher . I would love to see a follow up on their lives today . 2021
So this is the real Miss G. I just fell in love with her. She is as beautiful as Hillary Swank(cause I love Ms Swank too) This movie changes my way of looking at life. It makes me dream to do something for a change. I cried so much watching the movie. I cried even more seeing the real true characters behind the scenes.
“Basics” don’t help no one sure it’s the foundation to learn but kids need to be inspired this women did more then her job she woke them up allot I hope all of them find success and inspire others government/ schools need to help more young kids from difficult backgrounds as much as they can
I've always loved this movie. And I honestly wish all school systems would do this. Give teachers a group of kids that they keep the duration of that childs time at that particular school they can nurture, bond and create this same family structure and sense of comfort Ms.Gruwell did. We preach how kids need consistency so much. Why not? It also gives us a chance to not burn out our teachers. Learning new faces, names, personalities, strengths and weaknesses is a lot I'm sure. Why haven't we applied this? Rant over.
That's crazy to see this especially where they come from Los Angeles is no joke I hope they all made it for a better life. I wonder if she still teaches at all.
So was “bunny” at 1:00, the Cambodian Girl that Maria “also known as Eva in the movie” fought in the movie? The one that she became friends with after her boyfriend shot the Cambodia girls friend?
Please pay public school teachers the same amount as doctors and lawyers. Give free wifi, computer and laptop to every child that can't afford them to close the digital gap. Make grant writing, 3D printing, video editing, authoring and online business, high school subjects. America will be phenomenal when you do that. Evey child will potentially become an entrepreneur and mentors in their neighborhood.
Teach others to "fish" God bless those who help others to help themselves Schools need to teach the skills that will enable students to support themselves Knowledge without skills is just unused books in a library Also find out what interests them and encourage it so they have a reason to learn
I think I read the book she talked about. I joined the OT Circus,, and we're a little like the Freedom Writers. We paint for peace. I also write and perform.
Ms gruell is bad, but in any other words this is wat students need teachers like this..... not teachers that only care if u pass a fukking class with an a or better smh
Was even more powerful to see the actual students saying how they felt.
When he starts crying saying:I could b behind cells right now...so touching
I cried like a baby
The crying boy in this old news clip is seen here in 2019...czcams.com/video/8G6xxcl80ok/video.html

I found this movie 😭sorry I’m still cryin...... because I’m going through hopelessness and a major depression right now
@@ryanfresh8521 Hang on! You are worth it!

Me too holla Germany baby
Three years later, how are you doing?
reading the diary entries were more intimate than the movie.
You're absolutely right. I just bought The Freedom Writers Diary recently and it's great, but very personal. It's truly authentic.
Gregory Baker im about to go to my local library and hire it out. Do you know what some of their stories are about?!!

Yess. We need to realize not everyone can be taught the same way
This movie is so inspirational to many young teens that are in bad steps just as these kids were too. This is how teachers should be.

I'm reading the book right now. Ms.Gruwell is such an amazing woman and so are the freedom writers.
I went to Wilson and this makes me proud of my school.
My mother attended that school in the early 90s.
Its just like the movie!! she is an angel!!
This teacher is a saint. And these students are incredible! They are smart! They are fearless!

Just making it through high school for these kids was an amazing. Mrs. G did well and I could hug all of them.
You can spark minds to change the world even in a class room

Such a beautiful story...gives me a lot hope too. Teachers don't get paid enough...though arguably some do.

I never knew the Freedom Writers had a news segment about them
Because the fake news despise students like these.
This book about the freedom writers... We are reading about it now... Gave me a little bit of hope.
That's crazy to see this especially where they come from Los Angeles is no joke I hope they all made it for a better life. I wonder if she still teaches at all.

If I could meet the freedom writers, I would not go to Delaware for my whole life. I would be satisfied. ( yes, that's how eager I am)
I miss my teacher sadly she passed away 2 yrs we graduated from Higher school 🎓💔 RIP

Well deserved congratulation every single one of you
I love the movie
What I love about this is there is no mention of any god. They did it on their own, they found the strength from within themselves.
Bravo :
