    The fact that Annie believes everyone, even bad people, are deserving of love is just the most pure thing I've ever seen. Especially from someone living with a trauma based disorder, that mentality is just beautiful beyond words.

      One of our favorite teachers once said that DID/OSDD are just demon possessions, but, we go to a Christian school and hearing too little info about DID/OSDD can make people jump to conclusions, and she’s a science teacher, so if she ever gives us a project to do about mental health, we’re gonna take that opportunity to teach her about why DID/OSDD exists

    For those of you confused as to why this was reuploaded, the original video was taken down because one of the systems had the Gadsden flag (the yellow one with the snake that says "Dont tread on me") hanging up in the background. The flag has been used in association with groups such as the tea party and white nationalists, so some people expressed their discomfort in seeing the flag because of its negative associations. Entropy had them refilm their section without the flag visible and reuploaded it! Hope that clears things up :) *(Edit: I didn't mean to imply that white nationalists and the tea party are the same thing, I know they often aren't. I was just saying that some members of the community may be very triggered by the symbol and so it was taken down.)*

    • @TheInfinitySystem
      @TheInfinitySystem Před 4 lety +24

      @Elisa Castro Respectfully, I agree that the flag in and of itself is just a symbol- like the swastika. Both have been taken far out of their original context and used by organizations that PROMOTE racism and hate speech, ect. Whether it's used by the tea party or white nationalists or the differences between the two groups is beside the point. The point IS that, like numerous other symbols with innocent meanings initially, it has been used as a rally point/focus for those with fringe tendencies. It could be flown by the Basket Weavers and Lolipop Makers Against All Humanity members and be offensive. It's not the symbol itself or its origins, it is the purpose to which it's currently put and whether it is offensive to some. As a content creator and positive image channel, ES was well within its purview to ask the system in question to re-film and as such showed their responsibility to their viewers as a WHOLE. We would do the same.

    • @DixieNormus710
      @DixieNormus710 Před 4 lety +10

      I'm highly disappointed the video had to be re-uploaded because of that. I see another flag that is just as offensive to a certain group of people and most of us would never dream of catering to that ignorance. And we shouldn't... just as we shouldn't have to cater to this other group of ignorantly offended people.

    • @lj0727
      @lj0727 Před 2 lety +2

      Yes! Just because it’s rarer to be diagnosed so young doesn’t mean it’s impossible or that it doesn’t happen!! We were diagnosed when we were 18 but started noticing signs around 13-14. For the first few years therapy was just torture because no one believed us or even believed in DID in general. It took 2.5 years of bumping from therapist to doctor to specialist… I think we saw almost 30 different professionals before finally meeting the one who finallllly helped us. We worked with her for just over a year before getting our diagnoses.. and then another 8 years after that before she retired. We have been struggling since then to find another that we liked so much. We tried a few different people but no one we clicked with and we haven’t been going since sadly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    To Leo and the Kairos system, I'm so sorry for your experience with an obviously very bad therapist, in what should have been a safe environment. To tell a client they are possessed by demons is, to say the least, against the code of ethics of the NASW and APA. I'm very sorry that happened, but glad you discovered her extreme ignorance early on.

    I didn't know that being diagnosed with just fragmented parts was a thing! I definitely have headmates, but I don't fit the criteria for DID, and I'm not sure about DDNOS/OSDD (though I definitely am at the very least closest to OSDD-1b). I'm going to start focusing on my parts with my therapist, and maybe we can look at all the dissociative disorders. It's great to hear from systems all around the world!

      there is actually a diagnosis which is "has definitely a dissociative disorder, but doesn't quite fit the criteria of any specified dissociative disorder". I think it was part of OSDD! I've seen so many comments asking if only females developed DID or if it was more common in females and I think males just aren't as open about this type of stuff cause stereotypes of men don't allow us to be vulnerable like that. Thank you to all the systems for making this video! It's really wonderful seeing the variety and diversity of systems, and especially "older" systems (body-age, wise), since it seems like most systems that are open with having DID/OSDD trend younger (which makes sense given greater societal openness, greater access to resources on dissociation/mental health, etc!). I also really resonated w/ what the Kairos system said re: being really proud of coming together as a system to be safe and grow. I'm really ashamed of it but there were times when I put my system at risk of danger because I didn't agree a situation/relationship was unsafe. Listening to each other and making an effort to be more open has been so, so freeing for us, and has led us to a place where we are more connected and able to heal than ever :)

My ex which was her friend just didn't want to, or really wasn't capable of dealing with it. I when we were married found out and tried to read up and learn what I could. well we went our separate ways but have alwasy text and stuff . recently we started talking alot more and got together a couple of times. she knew that I already knew so that took the stress away. She has been really good at letting me ask questions. just recently she started using we and us, I knew how significant that was for her. All I can do is try, everyone needs a friend. I do have to be careful because a couple in her system are quite friendly. I don't want to go there. She will text me and ask to hang out and when I tell her I can't her text get really short lol I laugh with her but someone either doesn't like me for that or someone is Shutting her system out on me. I do get worried that I am doing the wrong thing here . I have always tried to be up front and honest. I am just recently divorced and I am not wanting anything more than a friend at this point. I just have a hard time believing that a friend who is willing to try to understand her system could be negative for her .

    Hi Entropy System, I hope I’m not overstepping here (genuine apologies if so) but as part of your Mental Health In The Media I would love to see a look into the kids movie Drop Dead Fred. It was a favourite of mine in childhood and although it doesn’t discuss DID specifically (or MPD, since it’s the early 90s), it appears to me that it takes a LOT of aspects of DID such as repeated childhood trauma, lost time, dormancy, integration, fusion, age sliding and combines it with aspects of other disorders such as BPD (eg unstable and impulsive behaviour) and schizophrenia (eg hallucinations). I’m not asking necessarily for a rating ofhow the film deals with DID (since nominally it doesn’t), but rather a similar review to your Sanders Sides video, exploring the effect of relating mental health to fantasy and the ultimate fate of the main characters

    our host’s barriers broke last week after few years of few of us semi interacting with him, we both are concerned that doctors wouldn’t believe us, the body’s mother said people who treated us before said no one should believe us until we’re diagnosed with bpd and them opening up about knowing about us (other alters) and she also said that no one will treat us if we don’t want to “fix” it. I think she means getting better means fixing it, we understand it’s hard to believe you child gone through this, and understand that she inflicted stress (not knowingly) on this body since childhood, it’s probably devastating for her and her “trauma” of dealing with our complicity that was really hard on her too. idk if she can understand i’m feeling for her but also expecting her to take responsibility of how she treats us. help? someone? we feel so lonely in this journey. few friends has shown us love only but some wanted a break and we’re terrified of living in secret since we came out as trans.. it was really hard for us and now it’s even harder I think. -Shawn

    I hope you don't consider this very silly, it's just that I am fascinated by language. I wonder about your vocabulary, such as switching, losing time, alters and many other words. Did you use them before or was it your therapists who taught them to you. Before you knew you had DID did you have words for the things that happened to you? Where they very different? Comparing your system to others, was it very different language-wise? I'm not a linguist but maybe I should be! :D. Thanks for your answer.

    Is it true that you cant have fully formed alters until you are in your twenties to thirties? If so what is the definition of "fully formed" and can those alters take the "front" when you are a teen?
    I suspect I might have DID according to my symptoms and I even was able to talk to one of my alters once. We talk every now and then. However, somebody told me I am faking because i am not 20 yet. Can someone please explain this?
    I'm in my late teens (about to be an adult now) and people still just dismiss my concerns and call me an "attention seeking teenager" and they say I can't even have alters at my age but I thought it was developed in childhood?

      No I really think that’s just misinformation being spread by people who don’t understand the disorder. Every me ever of a system is an alter, if fully formed alters didn’t exist till 20, the host would not be “fully formed” either. Though fragmented alters exist and can exist at any age

    I am here to learn about DID because i am a big sceptic, im here to challenge myself and others. Based on what i have researched and have seen/heard from people that claim to have DID, they create these alternative egos/personalities/characters in order to cope with a server trauma. These egos that are created are not real people they are your thoughts and your creation, it is not healthy to live with these alter egos because you have not healed from your trauma and the trauma affects you today, otherwise you would not need the alter egos.... lets talk

      Removing the symbol from the video sends the clear message that certain types of expression ARE unwelcome. Which is fine, it's just irritating that you all pretend that everyone is welcome when they're clearly not.
      And I'm a woman, btw, so if you called me "dude", "man" and "bro" because you assumed I'm a guy, then you failed to not be prejudiced. If it was a non gender specific dudebro then disregard.

      @@whitemageFFXI I don't have much to add to this discussion, but I would like to contextualize that the DID community--especically CZcams activists--have been under a lot of scrutiny by people outside of the community, due to the actions of some select systems. This has lead to systems being harassed ad nauseam for the smallest things.
      I'm not bring this up to elicit any kind of sympathy--but you must understand that had this occured in a different social climate than the one people with DID are currently facing, The Entropy System may have had a different reaction. Or perhaps not.
      My point here is that it was a lose-lose situation for them. I personally wouldn't attribute this decision as a sign of their overall character.
      That's not to say that I personally condemn or condone their decision. But it's important to understand the complexities of the issue.
      As to the gendered language-- I cant speak to the assumed gender had towards you, but I apologise for the false application. I know that type of language is commonplace from the individual who left the comment regardless of who is being addressed, but I don't know if the choice to use that language in the moment was influenced or based off prejudice.
      I sincerely apologise for the inappropriate usage of the language, and the false attribution insinuated towards you.
