    The noise that the motors make tell me that they are malfunctioning if they put the legs to VCC mode the operation of the motors changes radically, try it.

    you need to adjust the resistor for the motor driver with the right voltage for the motor

    This shield v4 board has faulty mode connections as well as they are designed to have missing resistors to pull up the VCC voltage on the mode pins
