  • I neglected to test for leaks, after I repaired the tank last time !
So, after I put the petcock back on, and re-installed the tank-
It Leaked Like A Pig When I Filled It ! BACK TO SQUARE ONE.
I pumped all but a half gallon out, got the tank on the workbench.... and there was another hole near the others ! Even a double coat of epoxy hadn't sealed it. After draining the gas, including the cup that remains inside untill you remove the pet cock, I put the tank in the sun to evaporate out the tank until it was dry. You can watch me prep, solder, and test the tank. I had to use a soldering gun because of the danger of explosion. This is slow, but allowed me to finish the repair job in less than an hour.

Bummer about the petcock Larry. I'm really surprised it leaked, there's not much to them. Carry on I guess, you're too deep to stop now. Brg.

well you told me to test it, and I was cock sure and didn't. anyway it is fixed till next time. Now I have to replace the Petcock It always leaked a little...so it was junk when it was new I guess. I bet I get to remove and clean the carbs next ! I will drain the float bowls, flush with clean gas, maybe remove and spray the idle circuit first,
