It's just amazing that he kept the part that became the outro to Floods in the vault for 8 years and saved it for the perfect song, perfect moment to put it in. Crazy. After saving it all of that time and putting it in Floods, it turned out to be one of the most heartfelt and amazing solos/outros ever created (imo).

That's Darrell, My old friend from high school, who was a great motivation. I'll never forget the times I actually hung out at their pad, In Arlington/Pantego and even before they were signed and famous they were already pretty much rock stars to all the folks hangin around at the time cuz we all knew they were going make it big. Darrell was winning guirar contest all over the place.

Apparently he won so many contests that they wouldn't let him compete because he was so good, so they made him a judge instead

    because he plays with emotion
witch no other guitar player today has
the guitar was his life and love, witch no other guitar player today is like
there is so many reasons why dime is the greatest and why he will always be the greatest

When I saw this on Dimevision, once again, a few months back it single handedly inspired me to play guitar. I was in a guitar slump and played maybe....i don't know, a half hour a week, excluding lessons. And now I'm averaging 6+hours weekly! I loved his playing and may god rest his soul! RIP Dime!

This brings back the memories, amazing! Born to shred. I recognize part of that solo in a later song.
I wanted to see them bad in the early days. A boyfriend and I went to a club in Dallas called Matley's, in the 80's. I managed to get in but alas, he was carded and barred entry. His fake id sucked.
I had fun though, what can I say? It was Pantera! hehehehe
The early gods of metal were indeed bad ass.
Dimebag kept it "real"...just as nice in person as the tributes claimed.
    RIP DIMEBAG
