    I live in Salem and I'm so bummed I'm not closer. Working with you guys would be a dream job! I love copper/bronze. I love the green patina of copper more. Maybe one day you can throw some blue green (I couldn't find the right shade of blue or green ... but it may be the screen) in next time for a patina effect! I mean, the black separating is awesome ... but patina needs some measure of Pthalo blue and/or green in a light tone. Minty blue/green patina would look really, really awesome. I refuse to use the new "fire" description.

    I asked a question on another video and no one answered. Is it possible, with the self-leveling thing, to coat over a tile countertop? I know it would mean the same prep work, but will it fill the grout gaps (if I use enough of course)? I can't see why it wouldn't. I've been using art epoxy for years. I'm not familiar with your formulation or off-gassing. You'd assume that, in using a couple of base coats, the grout wouldn't off-gas (just like wood ... and I've done wood inlay with epoxy on small items, so bubbles count). But would your product sufficiently self-level (and I have no idea how to account for that tiny bit of extra volume that makes a lot of volume over a large area) over the grout lines and still only take the one swipe with a torch to burst the bubbles? Even MDF is expensive these days (comparatively to BC ... before covid), so if I can coat my counters, that would save me hundreds. Old house.

    • @angelbear_og
      @angelbear_og Před 2 lety +1

      Regardless of manufacturer, Part A is always the resin and Part B is always the hardener. (This is important for mixing ratios, as the first # always refers to A, the resin, and is the only number that can vary.) He's just measuring the hardener first for whatever reason. I haven't found any other instructions that say to measuer B before A; in fact, many say to measure in separate containers and then mix together, in case you overpour. His designation of Part B and Part A is not arbitrary; but his decision to measure Part B first seems to be.

    @EricZajacOnline Před 2 lety

    I hate to report that I tried so hard to make this work - using all the resources available - and had a very disappointing attempt to use Stone Coat Countertops Epoxy on my two bathroom vanity countertops.
    Here are my top learnings that have proven to me this simply isn't an option to consider, despite the amazing beauty and low cost:
    1. Colors mixed together to make a 'mix', not a swirling of multiple colors making a natural and beautiful work of art
    2. Very difficult to manage the drying process after you pour epoxy - we ended up having the taped edges get stuck in the epoxy to a point where it was impossible to remove.
    3. Ultimately the end result is noticeably poured and not real granite, marble, stone, or quartz - there's no way to get all the epoxy to harden into straight, firm, rigid, hard lines - it naturally hardens in rolling, wavey, non-flat curved lines.
    I'm sure that there are ways for long-term, highly skilled, lessons-learned, artisans out there who can overcome the above issues but after several hundred dollars of wasted materials, supplies, etc. and ruined countertops, I can't justify investing into an Attempt #2, so I'm likely going to go with an installed-granite-solution from Lowes for $2100. If I would've done the to begin with, I'd of saved several hundred dollars.
    I truly tried Stone Coat Countertops. I truly wanted the beauty at low cost. But I don't think that's possible without YOUR decades of experience with trial and error learning.

      Sorry to hear about your project. My first time was a hit! I taped around 3 times to make sure nothing spilled out. Very tight.

      Sir, just curious, but did you attempt leveling with the blow torch? It sounds as though your surface tension on the field was too high, which may have been eased by pre smearing a light coat of clear epoxy over the ground field first.

    It only looks good in videos. In real life it’s complete garbage. 100% regret
