Something finished with UTC glossy. Also, SCC flooring over ceramic tile. My tile floor has chips in conspicuous areas so I want to cover it with SCC epoxy. You could use mine for your video!
My neighbor makes conference tables like this that start at $14,000, he does about nine to twelve a year not as psychedelic as these. He's 85 and loves going to work everyday in his barn while his wife does stained glass in a shop next to the barn. Sometimes I have a beer with them over looking their Koi pond.
Wow that is amazing. Love hearing stories like this! People doing what they love and creating art as their business. So cool!
That sounds awesome!

I don't even know how this video ended up in my feed, this isn't the type of videos I watch on YT. For some reason I watched the whole 39 mins, liked the video and subscribed. The way these guys keep you engaged and educated in the whole process is next level. This has given me the confidence to try this at home, thanks guys 🤘🏾
Thank you so much! Let us know if you have any questions we are happy to help!
You're not alone... On top of this I should be in bed... now I want to make a counter top..
That's funny, I had the exact same experience, and then seen this comment!... Good Vid.

I think I really like the glossy look better than the duller look. Beautiful! I just think the gloss would make it pop out even more beautifully!
big thanks to all of you guys ,you know what !you give someone in other side of this world a chance to learn and work on something and make a living from it for free ,your Technics advises are so precise ,thank you so much
Ive been watching your videos for hours!!! Im in love with what you do. The bonus is that your products provide the same amazing results as another overpriced product ive reviewed and you've showed me more about applying it! Thanks guys!
That led backlight would look really good on a coffee table I bet. I think that might be the first epoxy project I attempt. I’m not sure how y’all ended up in my recommended feed but I’m glad y’all did.
That's a great idea! We would love to see how your project turns out if you want to share your pictures to our Facebook Page Stone Coat Countertops Insiders.
Small kitchen, so I'm thinking a desk top, and same for feed... was very interesting
Yup, gamer's desk would rock with translucent top and LED lights shining through. Maybe even a mirror backed surface beneath that to increase the light a bit?
Simply fantastic to be able to “Hollywood” pieces of plywood into one beautiful marble looking countertop! Inspired enough to say this is the direction this handyman wants to go. Great job guys.
Amazing work guys congratulations I'm a contractor and often doing remodeling I'm definitely starting to get into the epoxy really beautiful work and less expensive than granite 👍
The counter top would look better in a kitchen with Black, White or a deep dark blue cabinets. The resale value would be high. Great job guys 👍🏾😍!!!!!!
It does look a bit off from the rest I agree something could be done to fix that
Rite...I would look AMAZING with blue cabinets!
I just was saying this lol, the tan wood looks tacky I would do a light grey.
I personally love the cabinets. Each to their own.
I am very impressed and your countertop looks awesome. After ready many of the comments and understanding the pros and cons, I still think epoxy countertops are a great option when granite, etc. are not in the budget. Although I have 27 years of commercial / industrial construction experience and enjoy taking on challenging DIY projects, I would be hesitant taking on an epoxy counter top of this complexity without an experienced advisor to guide me. Although I’ve completed many DIY projects with little push back from my wife on the design, etc., I think having the professionals at Stone Coat Countertops design and fabricate our countertops would save me from a domestic. LOL 😉
P.s. I really like the finish product however, I would’ve painted (flat black) the underside of the overhang to give it a finished look. I might of also installed a reglet and LED strip lighting in the overhang to give ambiance lighting to the cabinetry. Thanks again for sharing.
I used to fabricate and install granite countertops for over 10 years and it's crazy seeing 2 guys carry that island in with such ease, lol! I remember having to install pieces that you weren't even sure how you were going to be able to get it into the house... so nerve racking
Amazing ❤ the fact that you are sharing your talent and tips and each step so thoroughly is so awesome. Ive wanted to help my 13 yo paint a gaming table top for his room but i think we'll try something using your video 😊
It's certainly fun. I wouldn't say "this is a high end look" but you did add it's "way over the top" which is more accurate. It is nicely done and adds dimension and personality to the space.
Does look like fun. But pretty ghetto.

Mike, you’re a mind reader. I was just drawing up my island top a few days ago and decided since it’s 4’ of cabinets I’d split the top down the center, pull out to my overhang and nightlights down the center. My wife wants pure white with a touch of diamond dust so I’ll do a translucent white down the center.
Awesome video!

This is amazing, I like how you made it look so easy. I liked how the black spray paint looked before the alcohol. I would love this countertop.
I loved this !!! The one additional thing I would have done was to paint the underside to seal for moisture and not be able to see the wood if something fell on the floor and needed to be picked up.
You pick up on the same thing I said to my self when the camera angles up its beautiful tho no two are the same.
I am a 40 year sign shop veteran. You do not want to seal the bottom side of the cabinet wood always has moisture in it and it needs a way to escape. It will go up and hit the Apoxsee and then it’ll turn down and go out the bottom. If you sell the whole thing up it will take the Apoxsee right off the top or end up taking your paint off the bottom.😢 Moisture in the wood will take the least resistance to get out.

You guys have done a BEAUTIFUL job..!!! Absolutely speechless love it
I am always inspired by your teaching videos and would love to try these techniques on my own countertop. The under lighting is stunning and gives an ambiance that is unlike anything I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creative styles to help others create their own masterpieces.
I so so much love your teaching but I don't know where I can get the material am in Nigeria
Please 🙏 help me out to buy the materials
I used to install granite countertops years ago. Something that extravagant back then would’ve probably been $80-90 sq/ft. We also hung our sinks with silicone. We didn’t screw them in place unless they were cast iron farm sinks. We’d silicone the the sinks without tape as well. Smooth em with your smallest finger and then wipe over it with a paper towel soaked with acetone. Perfection.
Hah!
Thanks man.
I don't even know how I ended up on this channel, but tomorrow I start a new job for a company that only does two things. Waterproofing, and silicone caulking.
Looks like I'm buying a couple of bottles of acetone on my way in in the morning. Maybe they already use that technique, or maybe you just gave me a shortcut from the lower pay rate as a trainee, to the higher pay rate as "competent".
I've done tiling before, but always just relied on spit and ya finger for smoothing joints.
I just wanted to express my gratitude for you guys and your channel!
Currently, I plan to do my shower walls and kitchen backsplash with epoxy. Definitely considering your aqua patina recipe for my backsplash, as it's a serendipitously perfect fit for the copper and green vision I have for the kitchen!Later down the road, I'm considering making epoxy ceiling tiles, too!
I used to work for rock of ages and ive never seen a stone come even close to what you've created fucen piece of art love it

WOW. Amazing work. I'm just a beginner doing smaller projects. It amazes me how no matter what colours you mix it turns out amazing. Thanks for all the great tips. Cheers from Australia 👍
Use LED strips that have the cobs closer together and then dim them down. It gets rid of the visual hot spots and softens the light.

Hi
It looks great.
*I wish after the sink and faucet was in and when they were done they would have shown a final product with the light on* oh well, we did get to see it lit when it was about 75% done.
*These stonecoat guys are great*
I'm only a 1/4 way through the vid - absolutely LOVE your step by step! Well done
Bloody amazing. I'm definitely going to try this Epoxy finish technique. It looks a lot like fun and an amazing finish to wood projects. Thanks mate. From Down Under!
Really amazing...I have flipped houses mostly all by myself , and I have added islands to change up the old, confined kitchens to open plans..But If I had seen this video earlier I think I would have done this to every house...really amazing....!!! I will certainly attempt on my next project! (if house prices come down a bit)
One thing certain, if they don't have massive airflow through the shop, they are happy assed campers.
Epoxy resin does not have any of the fumes polyester resin does

This piece is epic. True art. Would love to be able to do this. The blues and greens make this piece. Along with the lighting.
The time, the patience, the fun that went into this project; it's incredibly amazing. Sign me up-
That sink and LED cutout look sick! Nicely done guys... makes me want to do something like this for my kitchen. Thanks for all your little tips and tricks!
Very artsy and incredible work. Never will be as cool as Mother Nature though.
Always enjoy watching you guys work your different ideas. If I (when I) were to do this to my kitchen or bathroom, I would roll a bit of dark color more or less to match the main color, underneath so as to not have it stand out as plywood. Other than this, great job and thanks!
Yes! I totally agree. At the very least, they could've painted it black.
There are no words to describe the beauty of this countertop. Such artistry. Surely it is the showpiece of the home.
Okay, this was just incredible.
Some of the coloration kind of reminds me of labradorite, which is probably my favorite type of stone.
Nice work, I also understand that the resin was then treated on the surface to better adapt to a worktop, however I love working with the resin I love the final effect of the chromatic shine the magic that is created with the addition of colored pigments I paint resin paintings and gives me a lot of satisfaction ciao 😊
Oh my lord...this is stunning, love it...I could not imagine what this would cost, but I love this and it doesn't seem like it would break the bank....Awesome job!

Love how you leave nothing to chance, except the artistic patterns. This includes the extra masking to eliminate more of the human error factor.
And specifically the artistic pattern went wrong 100%.
First second had me subscribe. Adhd craft channels are the best
You have inspired me. I usually get rid of old table tops so as to make space in my furniture store. I can now create beautiful table tops.
I remember the tool we used to get a rock face edge when I worked in the granite countertop industry. I'd choose MDF and Epoxy any day of the week, that thing was terrifying.

Me: looks underneath counter
Thousand times better looking then any marble
@@rrokdaragjati6870 bull crap
.....then looks at bank balance and realizes why the top is the important part!
Yeah the underneath kind of ruined it. Even if it was just painted black it would have been better than raw wood.
@@muzzaball Yeah looks at the lack of bank balance when they sell the place and get crappy money for the crap they had done. Shows you have never installed a custom anything. I've done hundreds if not thousands of custom kitchens and not one would even consider that stuff. See what happens when you put a hot pan or pot on it
edit: just so you know you don't buy custom at a big box store. For returns on investment the kitchen is the most important room in the house to spend money on when remodeling

Amazing work there, it really looked out of place in the old fashioned wood kitchen. Would love to see a similar island top in a modern kitchen. Great work guy's
agreed, excellent work but it clashes bigtime
Gorgeous! LOVE the matte finish. One suggestion: maybe think about painting the bottom of the overhang before you pour. It would give it a more finished tactile feel for anyone sitting at the island. Just another finishing touch that I think too often gets overlooked and can be important to some people.
Maybe it would be even better if he poured the bottom of the overhang, that way you get the same feel.

Awesome video, amazing technique(s), I can't wait til I can do something like this for my house!
One suggestion i'd like to offer, when you did the contact paper on underside for the lighted section. If you screw into wooden strips to hold down your fiberboard (or whatever material that thin layer next to the contact paper was), it will nearly ensure a leak-free pour. It's similar method as using wooden strips to seal and strengthen plastic sheet over windows/doors for weatherizing.
Great great advice for the wife😂, also keep up the AMAZING work, if I was younger I would attempt on making one THANKS

You guys did a great job me personally it’s to dark based on all the work you put into it to make it light up. It’s a great piece and much appreciate you making this video
I would rather see a more shiny top. I think the counter top is to dull for me personally. However, I think you did a fantastic job.
Thanks for the feed back! Would you try something like this with a gloss finish?
It could be more shiny but then also prone to being scratched up so there is fine line there between shiny and honed anyways I thought more people are steering to white counters
I agree I think they should have put a shinier surface to make it look more like a polished granite surface
@@eddieworley3409 Like the man pointed out in the video the colour can be changed later to suit changes in fashions over time.
Which is something you cannot do with an expensive (and heavy) piece of marble or stone.
I was thinking that to, a good glossy clear top coat or maybe even a polish would of made the colors stand out and pop
