  • Norton Summit, South Australia:
    "Norton Summit (formerly Norton's Summit) is a town in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, located approximately 12 km east of the city of Adelaide. The town is named after Robert Norton, who arrived in South Australia shortly after its proclamation, and made the first recorded climb in the area in 1836." - Wikipedia.org
    "It is well known for the popular Scenic Hotel, founded in the 1870s, often considered one of the best pubs in Adelaide. Another landmark is St. John's Church, founded with the assistance of the Baker family at around the same time."
    Lobethal, South Australia:
    "Lobethal /ˈloʊbəθəl/ is a town in the Adelaide Hills area of South Australia. It is located in the Adelaide Hills Council local government area, and is nestled on the banks of a creek between the hills and up the sides of the valley. It was once the centre of the Adelaide Hills wool processing industry, which continued until around 1950. The mill buildings are now used by a number of cottage industry and handcraft businesses. At the 2016 census, Lobethal had a population of 2,135."
    In this video, JOM and his partner, Lady Gravel Cyclist, enjoy perfect weather and a route of JOM's design. This route takes in many of the mixed-surface roads that proliferate the Adelaide Hills, with nary a flat road to be found.
    Reminder:

    Back to the future here. I appears as though this was pre-crash and general broken bone mayhem.
    Always the best. Thx.

      Correct, and thank you. Way behind on editing my ride experience videos. I typically post the ride date at the beginning.

    Went for a ride yesterday round Myponga and the weather was as good as it is in your video! We seem to be having a lovely autumn for riding this year. At least you can still edit videos with a broken collar bone. Hope it gets better soon.

    Thank you sharing these cool a- videos! Australia is such a beautiful place. The topography reminds me a lot of California. Curious, I’ve never seen an Aussie bike packing video, is that something that’s blown there as well. Super curious to learn more. Keep up the great work trendsetter!

    It looks like a vineyard area. Shiraz and Cabernet grapes?

    • @matthewN5
      @matthewN5 Před měsícem

      No, it's 500-600m up so more typically chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, cabernet franc, etc. Many excellent producers!

      But the motorists aren't as distracted as with some countries. I've never had a problem riding my Adelaide homeland, the opinions and experiences of others may vary.
