Thank you. I’m doing this for my wife and it annoys me the hoops we have to jump through while the government lets anyone else in if they’re on a boat, gives them money and a place to stay while they get a cash in hand job and disappear into the UK.
I know, it really is unfair. It was much easier in the past and unfortunately was taken advantage of and now we are the ones suffering.
Thank you uploading ILR video, have been waiting for it for a while and was currently doing the application now. I completed FLR using your video and it was great.
Aww, glad to hear it was up in time 😁.
What is the name of the form for theb10 year route ILR?
Hello Ruksana,
As always, such an informative video. Thank you so much for sharing your steps with us, we followed them the previous times and were successful. Your video came at the perfect time for us again and we can’t thank you enough!
Aww amazing! Glad to hear it's up in time ☺️.
Thank you for taking your time to actually make this kind of videos!
It helped me so much on my last application 😁
Aww, glad to hear it. Thanks for watching ☺️.
Thanks for this helpful video! Looking forward to your video about the supporting documents. :)
Thanks for watching!
THIS WAS MOST AWAITED VIDEO FOR ME EVERYTHING WAS EXPLAINED NICELY AND CLEARLY THANKS RUKSANA ONCE AGAIN
Aww, so glad it's lived up to expectations ☺️.
Thankyou so much for doing these videos.they really helped when I did my husbands extension and now did his ILR . So helpful with the application you show. I'm glad now ILR done and we can relax as it was one of those things always looming over head as "still got to do".
Wish everyone all the best with their applications.❤
Aww so glad to hear it’s over for you too!! It really is a headache for something pending. It’s not all over yet though the citizenship is just the same lol. I don’t think I’ll be able to finally relax until my husband gets his passport and nvr completed!
@@RuksanaAhmedyes I read up and was not aware that my hubby can apply for citizenship straight after ILR as married to myself a British citizen. In regards to ILR do they get their biometrics in the form of online now or is it as before? As I know there may be online only from December 2024
Hi Ruksana, Thank you so much, I've been following your immigration videos, and it really helps me a lot to follow along the way. This is definitely a great guide like us still under immigration, well done and looking forward for the next videos...Godbless and thank you much well appreciated ❤
Aww thank you for your kind message 😊
Thank you so much I have been waiting for this and your video came just in time. Its given me so much relief as my situation is pretty much the same as yours. Thank you for all your effort in creating this 😊
Aww that’s great to hear it was up in time for your application 😁
Hi four months ago I watched your video about The ILR and applied and I got my ilr visa today, thank you
Wow, that took a while but I am so glad that you got it in the end 😁. Congratulatios 🎉🎉🎉
Great video as always, really appreciate the help. Looking forward to the next video, thanks again.
Thank you, glad you like ☺️
We submitted our ILR and supporting documents a while ago before your upload as we were getting close to BRP expiry and didn't know when your upload would be up.
Finally had appointment for super priority this morning. Biometrics done this morning and ILR ACCEPTANCE came through today 1 hr back.
Thanks for your kind support, help and patience over the years. ❤
Oh wow, that’s amazing news 😁😁😁!! A huge congratulations to you both 🎉🎉🎉!! Tbh, a lot of it is the same as the extension application.
Btw, how did you apply for super priority? I never saw it as an option.
@@RuksanaAhmed yes a lot of is same. I found it much easier than initial visa and extension. Also I don't know if you had change but ukvcas uploading portal has changed. E.g. no life events section etc
Super priority appts appear at 1am on booking site. On the day we submitted online application we waited till 1am and slots came up. We didn't want to wait 6 months.
We have got so used to you over last few years that we hope you do a citizenship video one day!
How long it takes to come???
@@sanjayreddy2662how long it take to come?
Yeah it’s very similar to the extension application. We did have life events on ours. The only change I noticed was that you didn’t have to go back in 2 days before the biometrics appointment to press submit. To submit the documents and also the Mandatory Documents only had proof of application in it. The proof of ID is along with the Other Documents.
Ah right. I never I never knew that always wondered how people applied for priority. I’m assuming you have to pay quite a lot for it. We didn’t mind waiting, it’s the same once they’re head whether they have a decision or not but I guess it does make things harder when it comes to your job asking for a valid visa, applying for a mortgage etc.
Thank you again I followed since 4 years Been waiting for this video! I will apply my wife visa soon application from your videos - really helpful thank you again ❤🤲🤲🤲
Aww thank you for staying with me all these years!! So glad you’ve found my videos helpful ☺️
Hi. Ruksana. Thanks for your time and effort, much appreciated.

Uploaded in plenty of time 😂.
Hi Rukhsana
I can find the words to thank you. With the help of your videos my husband got his visa back in 2021.
Now we have to apply for extension. In your extension video you mentioned that you and your husband wrote letters with the application. Could you please tell me what did your husband as an applicant write in the letter
Thanks
Hi, thank you so much! I have replied to another post of yours ☺️
Amazing video- your videos have been a blessing on the last 2 visas and now this one :)
Looking at the comments there seems to be a consensus that one can submit the ILR application 28 days before expiry of FLM BRP? Somehow my wife's BRP expires at the 5 years and 2 months and the e-visa is even later- I take this means she could apply for ILR at the 5 year mark also?
Hi, technically yes. She can apply as soon as she gets to 5 years in the UK since date of arrival. I always say to wait until 28 days before brp card expiring to be on the safe side in case people take large holidays/apply too early each time and not reaching 5 years and then needing to apply for another extension
Thank you! I’m applying for settlement now and your videos helped throughout my visa process! Can’t understand why we can’t apply for citizenship alongside the settlement application….
Aww, glad to hear you've been using them to help make your application. They like to complicate things for us 😅. I've not had much time to look into citizenship yet tbh. I have heard different thing. Some saying you can apply straight after receiving ILR but others saying it's after 1 year.
@@RuksanaAhmedfor family visa as a partner we can apply as soon as we get the settlement. For others they need to wait 1 year.
you dont need to wait 12 months to apply for citizenship. If you are married to a BRITISH CITIZEN
With respect thanks
Thank you!
Thanks you so much for uploading 👍
Thanks for watching!
Hello! I watched the video thank you so much to help us with this information. Just i have one question. I have to apply after 6 months but we are 3 of my family me ,my wife and my son .Can i apply in 1 aplication 3 of us?
Thank you so much!
Very informative, thank you!
Glad you like it ☺️
Hi Ruksana,
Thank you for the video 🙏
Aww, glad you liked it 😁
Hello Ruksana,
Prior to apply for ILR , Do my partner need to take any exams ? e.g life in uk test , level B1 ?
Thank you for kind effort ❤
Thank you for watching ☺️
Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much it helps a lot
Glad you found it helpful!
Looking forward to seeing the part 2
Will be up soon!
I have used your videos as a rough guide to the process for both of my spouse visas, so helpful! I will be using this one as well. I think you guys are maybe a year ahead of me in the process. How far ahead of his BRP expiring did you submit the application?
Hi, glad to hear my other videos have helped and hopefully this one will help also. You should apply within 28 days of the brp card expiring. So the earliest you should apply is 28 days before and the latest is the day of expiry. However, you can apply once you have reached the 5 year mark (which would be in 30 months of receiving the visa) but I always say best to stick with the 28 days in case of any issues.
@@RuksanaAhmed can i start preparing and filling the form in advance and than submitting 28 days the expiry date?!
@@RuksanaAhmed thank you so much for the advice :)
Hi, yes you can start sooner. I think I started about a month before but honestly, it is not needed. You can easily do it in a day or 2. Just remember you’ll have to log in at least once a week or it will block you account.
No worries 😊
Hi, what reasons can you give for husband not having any social ties back home? We are stuck on this question. Thanks x
Social networks/cultural ties *
It says in the video. You can say they do not have contact with those people anymore😊
Hi, apologies for the late reply. You have probably completed your application now but I can see someone has answered your question already (thank you). But yes, I just mentioned that my husband has been in the UK for so long now that he no longer has any social ties in Bangladesh anymore.
Your visa videos are very helpful thanks. When are you going to upload next video on ILR please about fees etc
Soon. I try my best to fit video in around full time work and a toddler. Unfortunately I can’t dedicate as much time to videos as I used to. I edit when I can. I’ve currently started editing the next video but I’m working 6 out of 7 days this week so it’s unlikely to be up in the coming week.
Tbh, the extension visa videos are very similar. I go through the fees and booking the appointment at the end of the extension visa application which is exactly the same still.
Thank you for the upload. I really like your videos. It helps me alot with all the applications.
Aww, glad to hear it 😊
one of the Requirement applying for ILR is
you have lived in the UK for 5 continuous years with a visa
My wife has been in UK since Jan 2019 but has spent 5 months in Pakistan too when she went to visit on two occasions. does that mean we need to make that time back?
The Bio metric Residence permit expires on 20/05/2024.
would you know the earliest we can apply?
Hi, I don’t think the same rules apply for those on a spouse visa. As long as it hasn’t been 6 months in a row I think she’s alright but you might want to double check this with a solicitor. You can normally apply 3 months before expiry but with all that time away I would recommend you wait until 28 days before at the earliest because you don’t want it to risk it going again the ILR application. I would double check all this with a solicitor though as they would be able to advise better. Hope you find the answers you need, best of luck!
Thank you so much for such useful videos... just one quick question if an application for ILR is made under 5 year route then why address proof is only required for 2.5 years it was bit confusing and thought to ask you..... but apart from it really liked the video and appreciate your efforts 😊
Hi, that's all it asks for in the application lol. I think it's because you already provided previous 2.5 years in the last application so the 2 combined make up 5 years so no need t provide them again.
Very informative thank you
Thanks!
Hi Ruksana, thank you for all of your visa videos, they are so helpful. How long did it take you to receive a decision from the home office after submitting your ILR application?
Hi, it took the full 8 weeks for us. Though some do hear within days/weeks and others don't hear anything for months. There is no set time frame unfortunately.
Hi ruksana thank you so much for the video ❤
Aww no worries, thank you so much ☺️
@@RuksanaAhmed
Please help me for I have already ILR
Hi,
First of all, I really appreciate the time you take to make these videos. Your videos have been immensely helpful.
Thank you.
The only query I have is, I completed the IELTS B1 test in 2022 when I applied for visa extension.
Can I use the same B1 test certificate when I apply for the ILR?
I am planning to apply in November 2024.
Many thanks,
Chandra
Thank you! Yes, that is fine, my husband did the b1 for the extension and then used the same certificate for ILR and citizenship.
Salaam Ruksana,Fantastic videos.Really helpful and in great details.
I have a quick question, Does the applicant and sponsor need to scan every page of the current and previous passports.
Many thanks and God bless.
Hi, yes it states all pages. We uploaded my husband’s old and current passport and just my current one.
When can I send my current visa IRL before it expires.Thank you.
Hello,
My wife and I are slightly confused as to when we actually need to apply. How did you guys count the time?
My wife first arrived in the UK on the 23/09/18 so it has now been 5 years.
However, the letter says we need to apply 28 days before the visa expires, so do we go by the date on the last issued letter (meaning counting 30 months from the date of issue)? The actual brp expires on 29/12/23 which it’s just confusing.
Her last grant letter was issued on the 1/6/21.So from what I understand, counting 30 months from this date the visa expires on November 30th 2023? Should we then apply on the 3rd November?
So sorry for the long question, we’re just confused.
Many thanks!!!
I got the same question im confused,😅
You apply 28 days before your BRP card expires so if it expires 29/12/23 28 days before that you can apply
Hey, you should apply within 28 days of the brp card expiring. So the earliest you should apply is 28 days before and the latest is the day of expiry. However, you can apply once you have reached the 5 year mark but I always say best to stick with the 28 days in case of any issues.
Hello we have followed your two spouse visa applications and now we begin our ilr journey. Do you have to do B1 English test and life in the uk test
Yh both. It asks for them in the video😊
Hi yes, for the ILR the applicant will need to complete the Life in the UK test and have a minimum of IELTS B1
Hi, really like your videos. there is a new question on this application form. What would have been your answer? Your previous visa
Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?
(Required)
Yes
No
Tell us the previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain you had
Hi, apologies for the late reply. I would answer yes to this as we needed to prove knowledge of English for my husbands entry and extension visas. The previous visas were settlement or family.
Thanks for the video. Did you pay for NHS for the ILR?
Nope, there is no IHS fees for the ILR application.
Hi, Ruksana. Where can my wife renew her Indian passport, she is living with me here the uk (spouse visa) but her Indian passport is due to expire??
Salaam Ruksana. I wanted to let you know, I just received my husband FLR application email today, we did super priority as we had to but it was successful. Your online application video was a great help and I am sure your ILR will be helpful as well in the future. Now, I will move onto the next phrase, buying a house and inshallah, the offer we placed today will be accepted. I have already started to prepare for ILR, have 2 documents ready, B1 Certificate and Life in the UK Test as we did this a few months ago as no expiry date. But many thanks for your useful videos. Take care, all the best.
Wasalam, aww congratulations to you both 🎉🎉🎉!! I am so happy to hear you have had a successful visa 😁😁😁. How exciting, I really hope your offer on the house was accepted 🤲🏼! Aww sounds like you’re already half way prepared for you ILR ☺️
@@RuksanaAhmed Salaam, thank you for the wishes. Yeah, it was a relief to get the FLR decision back, we did pay the super priority so the money I thought I would have used for the IHS Increase, used for super priority as we needed urgent decision. Yes, our house offer was accepted, we are in the process of mortgage application, so now offer is subject to valuation so we are pleased we are nearly there. We had to put our life on hold as we couldn't spend as we wanted a house. But hopefully it be done in a few months and then we can plan for the future. It be good to finally move out of my parents house.
Differently, learnt from the mistakes in FLR, so this time, I am scanning the letters as we get them and then sorting them in the folders I have created. So created by year and month. So this way, when it comes time to do the ILR, I can just grab the letters. But I feel the letters will be easier this time as we will have a lot more joint letters once we get our place, such as bills, mortgage ect so it will make it easier. Also, for sure, we will do the super priority for ILR, because you don't need to pay for IHS so we will use that to et a quick decision in 24 hours as it can take up to 6 months, so some people I think they said took 2 months, 3 months ect.
But yeah, happy I can just focus on the house now, then inshallah, starting a family with my husband. I got married to my husband in my late twenties, we are the same age, so sometimes, I do wish I realised and married earlier in my early to mid twenties but if that happened, I would not have met and married my husband so whatever happens was the will of Allah..so hopefully the next good news I can give my family is the start of our family. Hopefully one day we will be a complete family like yours. Also, we are very lucky to be under the old salary, £18,600 and not the new one will will be £38k in 2025, I think this will end people marrying back home. Anyway, take care, many thanks for all your helpful videos.
Ah yes? It does make sense to use the money saved on paying a solicitor or IHS fees to be used for priority if you need a decision soon. We waited 3 months for our which is a long time but we were in any rush and were happy to wait.
I can’t believe how high the threshold will be. Feels like an extreme increase. A lot struggled with the £18,600 anyway so yeah I think you’re right, it will discourage a lot of marriages abroad.
You probably have your house by now 😁. I really hope it all went through ok and that you are enjoying being in your own space. It can make a huge difference. Aww it’s all very exciting, new home, start of a new family 🥰. Hope to hear the good news soon!
Thank you so very much. Was looking forward to this. Jazakallah Khairan 😊
Do we need to upload on the ukvcas platform like we did for the previous visa
You’re welcome! Yes documents need to be uploaded onto the ukvcas website ☺️
Thanks a lot .God bless you
And you! 🙏🏼
Waiting for your British citizenship video now!!
Haha, thanks. We haven't even looking into that yet 😂. Think we need to have our baby first.
Hi Ruksana. Thank you so much for the useful video. I have been following your video since 2018 when I first came to UK in spouse visa. And recently I have applied for ILR and I got my ILR last week. Thank you once again for your help, I really appreciate your effort. I have another question, I heard that when we get our ILR and if our partner has already british passport then we are eligible to apply for British passport immediately. We don’t have to wait for a year to apply for citizenship. Only we need to stay in this country continuously for 3 years. Do you know about that? Can I apply for British passport now? Thank you very much in advance.
Aww congratulations on getting the ILR 🎉🎉🎉!! I am so happy to hear it 😁😁😁!! And thank you so much for sticking with my channel since 2018!!
Yes, that is right, for those on a spouse visa, they can apply for British Citizenship as soon as they get you ILR, there is no need to wait a year like other visas. The only reason we haven't looking into it yet is because I was still working full time, heavily pregnant, looking after a toddler and trying to upload the ILR documents and then I had my baby and have been recovering. But we will be applying soon and I would like to record it.
Lots of duas for u 🤲 ❤
Ameen! Thank you so much for your duas
Hi there just a question about the question how long your partner has lived in the UK if my partner lived 10 years outside I just deducted from the total ( he is British from birth) or I put the date that we both arrived from NZ where we met and got married and from we applied for the very first spouse visa
Can anyone help?!❤❤
This is a tricky one. This might be one for an immigration solicitor. I would have thought it was from birth but 10 years outside is a really long time. I hope you are able to get an answer. Sorry I can’t help.
Hello Ruksana,
Thanks for the video. I have a query regarding " Where you have lived with your partner in the past 2 years ", does this include trips to other countries in these two years?
Hi, no. This will just be your parents home address. There is another section where it will ask about “time spent outside of the UK” this will be for holidays
Hello, congratulations on your video, I would like to ask a question if possible, if the visa will expire in December, do you know if it is possible to apply now?
Hi, it is too early to apply now as you have not been in the country for 5 years. If you apply too early you may risk having to wait another 2.5 years or maybe even put on the 10 year route. You can apply as soon as it has been 5 years since you entered the country. I am assuming that will be Sept for you.
Hi Ruksana, thank you for uploading the videos it’s helped us a lot thorough our application process.i just want to ask you a question, did you apply for ILR exactly after 5 years of your husband stay in the UK?or did you apply within 28 days before his 5 years in the UK?
Hi, I applied within 28 days of the BRP cards expiring both times. We have been abroad a few times over the last 5 years and though that doesn't affect the application, I just didn't want to take any risks. However, yes you can apply as soon as the applicant has been in the UK for 5 years.
Details of your time spent outside the UK
Where did you spend time outside the UK for more than 2 weeks? My question is ont to mention the four days of my trip.
You won’t need to include anything less than 4 days. On our last application I didn’t realise it said more than 2 weeks so I mentioned them all but this time round I only mentioned the one that was more than 2 weeks
hi on 24:41 part of the video you chose 'not the same amount, but above the threshold' does it mean the sponsor is not salaried/paid by the hour ? just a bit confused, as i am salaried and recieve monthly payslips so should I be choosing the first option? response would be greatly appreciated.
Hi yes that's correct. Someone on an hourly rate would also choose the same. I am salaried but my wage changes depending on whether I get comission that month or not. If your salary does not change at all each month then it would be "the same amount"
Very helpful video, thank you. What if the landlord does not have mortgage payments because it’s a freehold house?
If you have a landlord, you would be renting so you would need to provide a tenancy agreement.
Hi Rukhsana, I remember that Home office asked you email your passports again. Did they acknowledge your email. They asked us to provide few documents by email but they did not confirm that they received our email.
Hi, I’m sure it was mentioned at the biometrics appointment that we needed to re upload them so the person there did it for us. Nothing had been submitted at that point. They do sometimes send confirmation of receipt but not always unfortunately.
Hi thanks for providing with so much reassurance for who applying on there own.
I was wondering where can you apply for priority or same day visa
Hi, priority/super priority services are applied for in exactly the same way but you have to pay at 12-1am (night time) for them to be selected.
Hi, thank you for the video. Is it okay that we only put applicant details for the income he earn more than £18.600
Yh I'm sure because my husband earn good enough not children aswell
@@abidakauser9013 thank you
Hi yes, for the extension and ILR applications you can put just one person as if they earn enough. Doesn't matter if it is husband or wife. Applicant or sponsor. It's only on the first visa that it must be the sponsor.
@RuksanaAhmed yes that's when I applied for my hubby when he first came England on spouse was on my name
Exactly. Once they are on the uk you can do one person, husband or wife it doesn’t matter or you can use both incomes.
Good evening. Regarding the spouse visa extension, can you tell me if printed barclays statements from the banking app are acceptable? Thank you.
Try to download a pdf version that has all your details as name, address and bank details …
@LuciaFord yeah, this is the only version I have. Hopefully it will be fine. Need to apply next week ! I thought it had to be Stamped by the bank. Hopefully not
Hi, apologies for the late reply. Hope everything was alright in the end.
Thank you so much Ruksana. We’ve been looking forward to this. Amazing, helpful video as always. Love the length and the detailed explanation for each question. Looking forward
Are to the rest.
I thought you only had to do the life in the Uk test when applying for the British passport.
-How long did hubby study for that life in the Uk test?
-Any studying tips?
How did hubby find it doing the tests?
-Do you have to apply for British passport straight away once you get the ILR? Or once you get that you can apply anytime you want? Xxxx
You have to do life in the UK and English test for ILR and then can need life in the UK test again for your British citizenship application - you can use the same one you applied for ILR and you can apply anytime it’s up to you
Hey, glad you're finding the video helpful. Should have the others uploaded soon but tbh, it's not much different to the extension application.
The life in the uk test is a requirement for ILR. The best tip I have is word association and linking a work in the question to a work in the answer. So every time that question is asked, you're always looking for that specific answer. Hope the makes sense. There are plenty of apps and website out there but my husband used lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk and passed using only this.
Thanks you for the reply. How many months before the application did hubby start studying for the life in the uk test?
Did he only use the app? Or any books or paper booklets too? Xxx
@@HH-mm7dci prepared for only one month, u read the guide and attend some online mock test, u will be ready to take the test
Hi Ruksana, can you please tell me if I could use the B1 life skills certificate that was done in 2021 for the extension for the ILR visa application?
Hi, yes you can. That is what we did ☺️
Hey there are two options for B1 on trinity college website GESE Grade 5 B1 and ISE I B1. Which one do we we need for ILR
Hi, I'm pretty sure it is the GESE grade 5 one but please double check, you might be able to call them to confirm.
Hiiii, please can you remind me when exactly do we need to start applying for ILR, I don’t know which video you mentioned about certain weeks rather than it being expiry of brp card. Thank you
Hi, you can apply when it’s been exactly 5 years since the applicant first entered the UK which is about 3 months before the brp card expires. If the applicant has been away at any point during there time here though, I would wait to apply until 28 days before the BRP card expires
@@RuksanaAhmed thank you, my husband has been away but only a few days at a time or the most 10 days at one time, is it still okay to apply 3 months before BRP expiry ?
Thanks a lot Ruksana your video helped me a lot for my wife ILR . Please how long can someone who is married to a British citizen wait to apply for British passport?
Thanks
Aww so glad to hear it has helped ☺️. Someone on a spouse visa can apply for their citizenship as soon as they receive their brp card. We have applied for my husband already and I will upload a walkthrough video for it by the end of the week so you might want to wait for that 😉
Thank you
Thanks!
You are a legend ❤
Haha, thanks!
Hi Rukhsana, have you applied for you husbands passport upon receiving the ILR. or do you need 12months before you apply.
Thanks
Hi, we haven’t actually. We have just been too busy with other priorities to deal with that at the moment. For those on a spouse visa, there’s no need to wait 12 months you can apply for British Citizenship straight away ☺️. I think once your spouse has the citizenship, then they can apply for a passport.
Thank you
Stay blessed ❤
Hi Rukhsana, hope you're well. I was just wondering if you've received a reply back for ILR? It's been a while. Thanks
Hi, yes we heard back 8 weeks after application ☺️
Hi Ruksana,
I was wondering if you can help me with the employment section of the application. I am stuck I don't know what documents to provide for my self employment job. I have been self employment the last 2 yrs and I recently got into employment 4 months ago because I can't provide 6 months employment payslips, I will have to show my self employment job aswel but on the online application it's so confusing what proof of documents they are asking for my self employment job. Any advice right now will be very helpful.
Documents I need to provide to prove my income from self employment. This is apparently mandatory requirement.
One of the following;
1.Annual audited accounts for the last financial year
2. If not required to produce annual audited accounts, unaudited accounts for the last full financial year and an accountant's certificate of confirmation, from an accountant who is a member of a UK Recognised Supervisory Body (as defined in the Companies Act 2006) or is a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA)
3. A certificate of VAT registration and the VAT return for the last full financial year (a copy or a print out) confirming the VAT registration number, if turnover is in excess of £79,000 or was in excess of the threshold which applied during the last full financial year
4. Evidence to show appropriate planning permission or local planning authority consent is held to operate the type or class of business at the trading address (where this is a local authority requirement)
I do not know what theses things are they are asking me to provide. Any advice on this will be very helpful.
Hi, I really wish I could help but I don’t know much when it comes to self employment. I know that my husband does a self assessment for his and gets a tax return/tax certificate and I assume that is the sort of documents you would provide but I would definitely speak to a solicitor to make sure. Best of luck! Sorry I couldn’t be much help on this one.
Hi,
Just got a question. Do you have to do the life in the UK test before you apply for your ILR? How do you go about doing that?
Hi, yes. You will need to complete the life in the uk test before ILR. You can book the test online and there are also practice tests online to help you pass. I’d say to do it a few months before the visa expiry just in case you fail, you still have a few months to try again.
Thank you
Your previous visa
Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English..?? Can i ask what is your ans on this question pls..thanks question for ILR aplication..
Personally, I would have chosen yes for this as my husbands entry clearance and extension visas needed proof for knowledge of English.
Hi, thanks for making the video. I would like to ask does the 5 year start from the visa issued date or the date of entry in UK? Thank you
The date of entry into the UK
Eagerly waiting for citizenship application
Thank you, just recovering from birth and then will be on it!
Thanks so much for the videos. Been such a help through our journey.
Will be doing the ILR application soon and reading conflicting information…
Is the 5 year minus 28 day period calculated from the first Visa/BRP issued date or the date landed?
Hi, so you can make the application as soon as the applicant has been in the UK for 5 years. You only need to wait to be on the extension visa for 30 months to apply. However, I always err on the side of caution and say you should apply within 28 days of the brp card expiring. Because I have heard others having issues on other kinds of visas with proving 5 years in the UK because they've been out of the country a few times. Waiting until the 28 days just ensures there won't be any issues.
@@RuksanaAhmed Thanks, but still not fully clear. 😓
UK arrival date is March 2nd 2019 so we can apply from Feb 3rd 2024 which is 5 years minus 28 days? Or apply 28 before the BRP 2 expires May 16th 2024?
I’m not sure how else to explain it. Apply 28 days before brp expires and you won’t go wrong
Hey Salaam,
After the 2.5year Further leave to remain application, is this the next step? Reason I ask is because i saw the life in the UK part on your application and i thought that wasn't needed for this step but for the citizenship route?
Yes, ILR is the next step. Life in the UK is needed for this step.
Thankyou can you make more video regarding uploading videos please Fast😅
Lol. I only work at snail pace these days 😂. It’s exactly the same as the extension application czcams.com/video/HSwM6i3D2b4/video.htmlsi=561Sa5BwewqNz1E8
Hi. Thank you so much.
I have a question about holidays.
As i am spending my annual paid leaves in my home country e.g. going twice a year for three three weeks. Does it matter or affect my 5 year IRL route?
Thank you so much in advance for your clarification.
Hi, twice a year for 3 weeks is less than 90 days in at once so that should be fine. Just make sure you wait to apply until 28 days before your brp expires and there shouldn't be any issues.
@@RuksanaAhmed thank you so much
Hi Ruksana hope you all well,my spouse visa extension I done with your videos without any problem now my ILR,I just passed life in uk test as well, just wanna know if u know my BRP expiring end August 2024 next month,I was late for submitting my documents,I think before end of July this month I could submit,do u think am I late or is it going to be an issue?🙏
Hi, apologies for the late reply. Not sure if you still need my help but you have up to the date if your biometric appointment to upload documents. You can book the biometric up to 2 months after submitting the online application.
Hi there can you help me as im NOT able to able work after my accident last year , what will be the desscision of nhs ? IS there is any possibilty for this pls let me know?
Waiting for your reply.
Hi, apologies for the late reply. Please seek help from an immigration solicitor regarding your situation as it is quite different to ours. Sorry I cannot help.
Hi, you know when you applied. Was it after 5 years in the UK or 28 days before expiry of the current visa?
Or can i apply 28 days before i qualify for 5 years?
Hi, we applied 28 days before visa expiry. We had been on some holidays during my husband's time in the UK so I did not want anything to go against our application but you can apply after 5 years of being in the UK. I'm not sure if you can do it 28 days before that date or you should wait until it has been 5 years 🤷♀️
Hi Ruksana
Thanks for your helpful video which I was eagerly waiting for. I have a question that you may help me with.
When my wife granted initial visa from my home country, she had another passport. After coming to the Uk, she applied for a new passport as her old passport was expired. She has a new passport and get her visa extension with new passport. In her new passport, she also has her old passport number with it. But when she applied for the new passport, she had to sent her expired passport with the passport application form by postal mail service. The embassy didn’t return her old passport with her new passport. My question now is when she will apply for her ILR, does she need to provide her old expired passport which she used when she first got her visa from her home country or she just needs to submit her current passport? Please let me know if you can. I highly appreciate your time and willingness to help other people regarding this complex issue. You are an wonderful person.
Hey, aww we had to renew my husband’s passport also but they did return his old one so that made things easier for us but tbh, I don’t think it’s necessary to also provide the old one. I would just mention somewhere that the old passport was never returned. Maybe in an applicant letter or something
Hello , I just want to ask , I arrived in uk March 12,2019 and my FLRM expires on June 19 ,2024 .
March 12, 2024 will be my 5th year here in Uk . Would that be alright if i apply after my 5 years ? Like end of March ? Thankyou .
Hi, apologies for the late reply everyone always recommends you get apply within 28 days of your BRP card expiring but you can technically apply as soon as you have been in the UK for 5 years which in your case will be March 2024 (so this month onwards).
Hi ruksana 😊
Thank you for the videos they r very helpful.
Ca u tell me how early do i have to apply before my BRP expiry date?
Hi, thanks for watching. You can apply 3 months before expiry but it is recommended waiting until 28 days before which is what I always say.
Hi Ruksana, just to clarify when you say 28 days , is it within 28 days before the visa expires. Thanks
Hi Ruksana Ahmed, please, I'd like to ask you if fingerprint and biometric photo included in the app form or if i have to make it separately after finishing th ILR app form ?
And another question please i have a same type of ILR as you have but my BRP card last 11 days , so do i still have enough time for applying ILR ?
Many thanks !
Hi, I’m really sorry for the late reply and I hope you were able to apply for your ILR on time. I didn’t quite understand what you said but I’m guessing you only had 11 days left before it expired. You can apply up to the day of expiry so you could still do it in time.
You need to book an appointment to have your fingerprints and biometric photo taken. The online form will direct you to the ukvcas website after you have completed and paid for the application. You will be able to book an appointment on that website.
@RuksanaAhmed that's alright! Thank you very much, Ruksana, for your response , I already submitted my app form, and I paid the fees and I uploaded my all documentations , and today I'm going for a UKVCAS appointment to have biometric photos and fingerprints.
Thanks , I really appreciate your videos I have been following you since start this journey and also planing to apply for ILR next year , I have few questions , my wife complete her Five years on February 2024 and her BRP expires in June , Can we apply on March 2024 or we have to wait until her BRP expires on June ?
Hey, you should apply within 28 days of the brp card expiring. So the earliest you should apply is 28 days before and the latest is the day of expiry. However, you can apply once you have reached the 5 year mark (which would be in 30 months of receiving the visa) but I always say best to stick with the 28 days in case of any issues.
Thanks I appreciate that
No worries ☺️
hi rukhsana, your videos are so helpful. im applying for my ILR in a few months. my degree was taught in english, do i need to take an english test as well?
thanks
Hi, it reall does depend on which country you did your degree. Degrees from most English speaking countries are acceptable and you just need to get a UK NARIC (not are exactly what this is and how you get one). This means you will not need to take the IELTS tests. If it is a degree taught in English from a non-English speaking country, you will need to take the IELTS test.
Thanks a lot for your helpful information, i have a question, you don't pay for the NHS in this visa ?? Is that 2400£ is all what we have to par for the ILR ?
Yes that’s correct, no IHS fees for ILR
@@RuksanaAhmed thanks a lot for your help , I was talking to my friend today and she said that her lower told her that he paid for the NHS , it looks like he took the money for himself .
