We had an incident many years ago involving MS Game Wardens. My dad would allow family and friends to hunt doves over one of our hay fields after we had baled the brown top millet. Usually the wardens would stop by and my dad would let them in through our main gate to check licenses and bag limits. One year one of the wardens thought he would try a different route and climbed over a fence. In doing so the pulled the staples out of the fence post and pulled all 4 strands of barb wire loose from 4 posts. This was a primary fence that kept the cows in the pasture. My dad had a proverbial cow. He went so far as to write the Attorney General of MS and ask whether a Game Warden could come on posted land without permission. The response was that the only way was if they were invited or actually saw a violation be committed. The next time they showed up at the dove field he showed them the letter and informed them they were welcome to enter through the gate. If they chose to climb a fence he was calling the sheriff and have them arrested for trespassing. Never had any problems after that.
After that one time chasing cows game wardens would no longer be welcome to my field. A neighbor across the street from me has 765 acres that no game warden is welcome.
I feel your pain. I will NOT fish on the weekend at all. I was raised in the woods and on the water. I am 63 and the people now days have no idea what respect is or what the Law is regarding boating or hunting. I was fishing last Friday on public water, I had 7 kayakers launch behind me. They proceeded to surround me and at times I could have touched with my fishing rod. I finally told them to get some distance from me. They told me this is public water and they were going to stay. I lost it then. I got all of their registration numbers from their kayaks and pictures of all of them and turned them in to law enforcement. NO RESPECT.
You aren't alone on the trespassing. Burns me up every time. Especially when they cut down water gaps to get in so they can "hunt for arrowheads and rocks" or, "look for rattlesnakes". My favorite is I'm looking for a cow, how about call first and I'll let you in and help you look for her. Instead, he lays the fence down and drives his utv in and messes up my turkey hunting.

Long story short, he had gotten a key to my gate from the power company, and he tried to bluff me by telling me he has the right to come onto my property any time he felt like it, So I said that I was done talking and that he needed to get in his truck and get off my property. And he said he would when he was done, and I said you will right this minute or we're fixing to have a major problem! Then I informed him that I knew the law and that he has no right to drive his vehicle onto my property, that he can come on foot or horseback. then I said, so if you have anything else you would like to talk to me about, then you can walk back in here and we'll talk. I respect law enforcement as long as they respect me and they're not overstepping their authority. I also informed him that the power company does not own my property, they just have access from the road to those lines, that's it, so they do not have the right to give him a key to my gate and that I would be calling and having a talk with them about this. He knew I was right so he got in his truck and left. And as you said, they can call me and I'll help them anytime day or night, but disrespect me.
Sometimes Jason we have to stand up and teach and tell people what ethics and etiquette is because some folks donât know are care and have to be reminded of it . And sometimes our blood pressure has to raise a little to get it done .đđ»đșđž

A railroad runs through the middle of our lease and has a lot of rail traffic on it. They came a replaced the crossties through our lease. The old crossties they piled up beside the tracks in a place where they could get to them quickly. A group of guys decided to steal them but were not in our club. I found a trailer in the woods with brush piled up in it with 20 crossties on it. I notified the president of our club and he in turn notified the game wardens and the county sheriffâs dept. We deal with this BS all the time. They pull down gates, cut them half in to with a torch, steal cameras and stands, and break in to our camp. Itâs never ending. We have had some locked up and others have not been caught. The big thing is to get on a food plot and cut doughnuts. Now they are planting dope on our lease. We have found that. The sheriffs dept is patrolling it weekly and hope we get some kind of satisfaction. They know who it is but they have to catch them red handed. So I feel your pain and pray it donât get as bad as ours is. Yâall have a good-un!
My father retired early and he was so glad to never fish on the weekend again. When I approached retirement I started using my vacation time to fish on Wednesdays. Awesome

I feel for you we had to put up a chain and lock on only a 2 acer lot . People who use Google Earth think this is a way to get to the joining land and get stuck in our yard . They don't apologize or offer to help fix the mess . In my opinion land surveyors are the worst

A gate means you don't enter until you get permission. They don't train young people enough these days. The boss should know exactly where they are going and instruct them on where they can't go and no going around gates. I had that problem on my deer lease one year. Come to find out they had their stands on the line pointing toward my land and shooting deer off my side and walking over and dragging them back to their side. I put a stop to that I tell you..

Broad view, your property, they want to see whatâs going on and are going to, regardless. Just the way they operate. You loose because your blood pressure went way high.
Jason when you are talking about government critters, they do not respect anyone's property or property rights. Especially when it comes to property that is not curtilage. Because the government has case law on their side, so they don't need to ask permission to ride around your gate unfortunately. They can even put trail cameras up on your property without your permission. So outside of that state having a law on the books that doesn't allow them to go onto private property. The courts have ruled that government critters can go onto privately owned property. They can even go up to the front door, especially if the mail is delivered to your front door. They refer to that as implied license, which you as a private property owner can revoke by telling them to leave, in which you essentially have trespassed them. No different than that drunk guy joy riding onto your property. (And yes I get it, because I do not like it anymore than you do.)
im guessing DNR what most people dont know is DNR in most states have more right then state police but also you better know where the hell your at because i know most older guys will shoot first then ask questions when it comes to trespassing

Jason when you are talking about government critters, they do not respect anyone's property or property rights. Especially when it comes to property that is not curtilage. Because the government has case law on their side, so they don't need to ask permission to ride around your gate unfortunately. They can even put trail cameras up on your property without your permission.
So outside of that state having a law on the books that doesn't allow them to go onto private property. The courts have ruled that government critters can go onto privately owned property. They can even go up to the front door, especially if the mail is delivered to your front door. They refer to that as implied license, which you as a private property owner can revoke by telling them to leave, in which you essentially have trespassed them. No different than that drunk guy joy riding onto your property.
(And yes I get it, because I do not like it anymore than you do.)
