Thank you. - Hry
Everybody gangsta until the cello starts playing
Omg yes
been like that since Max Payne
for real tho lol
lol literally
Everybody gangsta until someone starts singing ,,And who are you, the proud lord said
That I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat
That's all the truth I know...,,
At this Moment you now you and your entire Family is f*cked. 😂
I swear that cello is its own character. It's like Death itself.
Soul Killer byte stream interpreted as audio.
I think differently. I think it's suppose to embody "Despair". The whole game theme is about "Hopelessness" (Don't know if it's a word in english). The whole time, you hope to make it in the major league, hope to save your friend, hope to not be alone (romance choice), hope to make it to the top, hope to save yourself from Johnny, etc...
Even the endings are like this:
- Leaving your body to Johnny in the hope that thing are better across the wall and he'll be fine
- Keeping your body in the hope of being at the top (or staying)
- Leaving with Panam in the hope that you'll find a cure outside NC
- Joining Arasaka in the hope they'll fix you OR leaving them in the hope you'll have a happy end-of-life.
This song was perfect to show all of those.
Couln't said better myself

It’s more like Death’s theme song lol.
I'm so sad that so many people will never play this incredible game.
I hate how some people choose to stay in their shells and not give this game a chance (unless they have a last-gen console, which can make things worse). Despite its bugs and "holes" in the plot and the city due to cut content, this game is a fucking masterpiece. So unique as well.
@@zurkke Yeah, the game definitely has many great moments but calling it a masterpiece would be too much since it's far too unpolished, even on PC.
@@UncleSheogorath I feel like it stands out, so for me it is a masterpiece, even if it is kinda held by duct tape xD
@@zurkke Whatever tickles your fancy, I guess. Not gonna lie though, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the few games that I refrain from using fast travel as much as possible since the city is just so atmospheric.
@@zurkke plot holes? Can you name some? Because the game is not too long, but it got bunch of stuff on different topics which make sense.
It's almost criminal that this game didn't win any awards for its soundtrack.
It'd have even more criminal to give it any reward after the disastrous release. It had to be an example on how to shamble arguably the most anticipated video game release. Holy shit I remember the day it was released... the whole world had their eyes on it. The game is still the same to this day, only fixed with more spit, glue and duct tape, as the nomads would say. The expansion, however, might give it a new chance to contend in any category v other 2023 video game releases.
@@GeraltOfArabia 🤓
@@GeraltOfArabia the best soundtrack award has nothing to do with the state of the game
@@GeraltOfArabia Was the soundtrack in shambles on release day?
@@mac19999x No, but the release was terrible and extremely problematic. We should not be giving awards to a product that did not work for half of its consumers, let alone the constant crashes and the soundtrack glitches that persisted in the background all day long, even after reloading.
I love the game from the very start and appreciate CDPR's incredible talent pool, but the way they handled the entire process leading up to the release was stupid, and it should not be rewarded. Even if the story and soundtracks were so exceptional that you'd think they were written and composed by aliens.
Whenever I hear any form of Been Good To Know Ya, I get this overwhelming feeling of dread. I love it.
Gonna listen to this soundtrack tomorrow during my exam

The cello is often symbolic of death in this game. Whenever V feels that realization that time is running out, whenever Johnny remembers he is dead... God this game is amazing. I understand a lot of the hate it got but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Edit: after listening to the score a bit more and playing through the game a few times, I think the cello is more of Johnny's motif, particularly in Vs theme you can hear the riff from this track sped up and clashing against the synths. Which is inofitself a symbolic indication of Johnny's consciousness fighting V's. Fuck I love this game
The team responsible for both making and integrating music in to the game did an amazing job. Just about every quest or activity in the game is named after a song which often has relevant lyrics and sometimes even a tone that is in line with the quest (e.g. The space in between by how to destroy angels when you're looking for Evelyn). Added to that the original soundtrack hits much different after you know the story of the game, with even the main menu music starting out as V's song then gradually mixing in Johnny's.
I think most of the hate the game got was just "bandwagon" hate. It was the new shiney and like a lot of things people do what's popular, and in this case it was to bash on the game.
@@zerogrey3798 yes, CDPR fans - who preordered the game because they couldnt wait to play something made by their fave trusted developer - just wanted to bash the game because it was 'popular'. couldnt possibly be the endless list of broken promises, game-breaking bugs, followed by the damage control lies. god what a braindead cope take. OP's comment is right - fun game (GREAT main story), but it is NOT the game they promised me. it fully deserved the hate it received.
@@serahbay8864 personally, I'd say CDPR deserved the hate they received for lying about what the game was and overhyping it to oblivion. The game on its own was just mediocre at worst and at its best could be brilliant, if they'd focused on bugfixing when it became clear they couldnt make what theyd promised, the hate it got wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad.
@@ryanwill32 well said mate. the main quest was well-written as was Johnny, i even enjoyed the game well enough in its mediocre state, but i'll never forgive them for all the promises they broke. they clearly ran out of time and money, and instead of being honest, they fed their unfinished turd to us and hoped their army of fanboys would cover for them. which clearly, they were right about.
"Tell him it was your guardian angel."
That cello...I don't know what it is, but, that instrument just pierces into the very depths of my being - like the instrument of the soul or something. I mean, even this sentence sounds like it's having an existential crisis. 🤣
The cellist her name is Tina Guo and she’s amazing, she also worked on many other soundtracks including the Wonder Woman theme she’s incredible! The cello part is the best tbhhh
@@loloice401 Oh, that's awesome! Thanks for letting me know - I'll be sure to check her out :)
The cello is a stringed instrument like the violin, string instruments are capable of great emotional depth and tone since they're not a typical instrument people listen to often like piano or guitar. Then the cello is much deeper, making it capable of march darker and deeper tones. That's why it hits.
@@jesse3311 Thanks for the mansplaination, bro. xD
Loved that line. Cello is my favourite instrument, besides the traditional acoustic guitar.

I pirated it illegaly to demo it and i dont regret it. Its a horrible game in every way a game can be horrible in. Only the open world looks good. Looks, not interact, not the npcs, not the ai behaviour, not the way it could be fun to traverse around. Nothing. The gunplay, the rpg mechanics, the clunky movement and combat. Its like all the budget went into the open world, ray tracing and keanu reeves. They shouldve used this music the day that the game launched. to enhance the meltdown

The further I got into the game, the more I started seeing ads for the Relic / Save Your Soul program. It was super eerie being on this roof at the end and sitting across from those ads and just seeing them flash while I decided what to do.
Bruh this song playing when you go through traumatic events is powerful, it really is perfect at portraying confusion, hopelessness, and pain.
For me it perfectly incapsulates the uknown the fear of it but also the hope that it will bring something greater the game is truly about letting go for both Johnny and V they must both accept their death and choose how to spend the time they have left however the fact that we don't really know the fate of both characters reitrates the unkown we can fear for these characters but also be hopeful that they both may get what they want. We may never know but that what makes this game and music so impactful.

This moment 10:24 where you hear the guitar from "Never fade away" is just too good man...
It was canonically written for Alt, but its meaning in this game goes much deeper. To the player, its not just about a fictional rock star grieving over his dead girl. It reflects both Johnny’s and your own journey throughout the game. Your quest to never fade away, to be immortalized, to show the world that you mattered, and Johnny’s realization that, despite all he did in his life, he was never really remembered for what he hoped to be. He lost his life hoping to be a martyr for the anti-corporate cause, but now all he’s remembered for are his “oldies on the radio.”
I love how the most replayed part is the one that kicks you in the feels the most. WHY ARE WE DOING THIS TO OURSELVES?!?!?!
This happens on all my mixes, I hope you guys are okay!
This seriously does give you a sense of how lonely it must be for Johnny, especially combined with this image of him looking out at Night City, that and his underlying rage and frustration tempered, even overwhelmed by the knowledge of a job left undone. What I do find interesting regarding this game, its characters and the city setting is that players who seriously delve into its depths are rewarded with far more than expected, be that by design or chance. What does seem to be a unified experience (and opinion) is the emotional swell and drop people experience, almost identical to each other. Either CDPR have become amazing puppet masters of emotion, or they've inadvertently stumbled across a formula for the incredible, born of heart, mind and soul of the delver determined enough, and brave enough to see their journey through to its conclusion, be it for good or ill.
Another success, my friend. How do you ever find time to have a life and do the things normal folks do, is what I wonder? Nice one. Again.
Almost forgot - how about EvE Online? That has some amazing music. Possibly even Titanfall or Titanfall 2? I know, maybe not your remit, but hey. Also Neverwinter, as I'ma big RPG fan (old school, preferably), or the older Dungeons & Dragons Online. Good luck ;)
Oh that ending of him walking barefoot on the space station made me feel incredibly lonely
They (CDPR) should seriously make this into a movie with the same soundtrack. If they pulled it off right it would be amazing, but only if it was done right.
To much text choom.
Goodbye V.
And Never Stop fighting.
I swear, when Johnny said his goodbye, he was giving a small smile to V knowing V will still have a chance to survive and fix him/herself as if to reassure her everything is going to be ok.

I didn't play this game I LIVED it.
probably one of the best games of all time. it was well worth the wait. get past all the bugs and glitches and its so amazing. the story, the gameplay, the soundtrack, everything. it makes me sad everytime i listen the music near the end. this game was such a vibe and i miss it so much.
there is two type of people: one that will understand the emotion of this music and the other that will be like "BUGS" but never played
My dad bought me this game telling me it was cool, and because of the internet complaining about the game bugs and all that stuff, i thought it were really going to be bad. but after really playing it, i saw that it is actually one of the best games i have ever played, not because of the good graphics or the gameplay mechanics, but because of its immersive atmosphere and good history, you can see that its not the cool future we all imagine, the world is slowly being destroyed. criminality is taking over the city. and because of that the police have to use aggressive power, and etc.
but what im trying to say is that i dont regret giving this game a chance, and its really sad to see people calling it trash just because of some bugs that can and will be fixed on future, instead of appreciating that the devs really did a good work with the lore of this game. (also im really grateful for my dad buying it)
Applause for your dad!
Exactly, you got it. When I first played, I thought it would be a cool futuristic game where you go around fighting. I had no idea the story was going to be this deep.
5:20 gave me goosebumps 😳
10:22 I don't think any sane human likes depression, but I truly love this kind of music, and I am not at complete peace with my preference🚶🏻♂️

Poor Johnny. I just wanna walk up behind and give him a hug.

my most favorite addiction to the game
something about this game's ost during these quiet moments really makes you feel the dread of this worlds future, or makes you feel like everything is coming to a head
Damn, that deep version of Never Fade Away is so emotional that's insane
This song hits you tooooo hard when you are in the final part like it feels something that i can’t explain, god i love all of this game
Johnny's theme at 10 mins 22. Such a shot right in the feels.
I can't be sure but the baseline there sounds similar to 'new dawn fades' by joy division, and that aligns with the name of the Johnny ending.
10:00 had me shivering man
Night City has about 160 hours of my life invested. Such an entirely epic experience. Late in the DLC I had to lay low for a while, so went back to the early part of the game. Viks shop. Misty's shop. The old megabuilding w my first apartment. I literally felt like I was coming home to my childhood neighborhood. It had been a while since I had beaten the vanilla game and the DLC brought me right back into the world. Such a strange feeling, nostalgia over a video game location.
5:06 sounds like Velen for a few seconds

You Michelangelo of Cyberpunk videos, you! How you bless us~
That cello makes me feel like Gaunter O'Dimm could show up any moment.
The first time I played this incredible game ---- no, the first time I explored this unbelievable universe, was October and November of last year. I had just been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, was bedridden for three and a half months, spent two weeks in the hospital, cramps that broke ribs, had to crawl to the bathroom. At one point, that wasn't possible anymore. The entire countdown to death and hopelessly trying to find ways to get healthy again rang so true to me.
Enjoy your life, don't take your health and mobility for granted. "And... never stop fighting..."
Well there's option C. You and me go in together and bring no one down with us.
if there is one thing i would rate 10/10 for this game .. its the soundtrack. incredible and makes all the choices in the end feel sooooo impactful.
I didn’t know there was multiple endings so I got the corpo ending, I was depressed for like a week 😭
I love how the city is a character as well. The Relic commercial conveying so much actual emotion here. Not to mention all the little bits of scenery chiming in here in there. Like when you go to the No Tell Motel, you see signs and graffeti foreshadowing how your meeting with Dex will go.
I didn't even realize this was a looped video lmao, I was too entranced by the music
this music represents complete hopelessness, the end of the line, but also the will to fight back death itself even against impossible odds
Some of the most important decisions and conversations happened with this ambiance. Fuck what a game man.
i'm in love with this game since day one and i will never, ever forget the first time being with alt and johnny in the netrunnerspace, having to decide the worst thing ever, Vs fate. i love my V boy so much and i just couldn't stop crying. couldn't even start the game for the next three days because i was so heartbroken
God damn i cried at the moment when he said goodbye
What gets to me most about cyberpunk isn’t the dystopian world itself, But the parallels that it shares with our world. And throughout my play through whenever that cello starts to play I think about real world situations like the ones happening in that moment in game. Makes you wonder does life imitate art or does art imitate life?
Usually it's art that imitates reality.
It both, a constant circle. Idk why people are so caught up in this, it's that simple. Art imitates life and in turn life imitates art so on and so forth.
Great art mirrors, yet alters reality and shapes the future with its influence, causing reality to either to mirror the art or brrak the mirroring.
Cyberpunk 2077 OST is some of the best ever made... This game is a masterpiece to me

@@user-gd5kg6fv9x Actually I've played all of them :).
This song hits so hard when you're 3 days away from graduation. Your actions are your own now as you get to explore the world in a new way, that being on your own. It's depression though as I'm going to be alone, struggling, and uncertain if I can succeed at times when I'm in college in a few months from now. But for some reason listening to this song gives me some sort of reassurance, like, despite the reality which is soon to approach that through the next 4 years of my life they're gonna be the best years I'll ever experience.

OMG! I cried so much to this music the first time I played! I will never forget these emotions!
this entire fucking song feels like I fucking am on my deathbed, fucking chilling
They really nailed what like encroaching death sounds like especially in the emotion of someone being scared to die entirely not wanting to embrace what comes after death. A paranormal after life? A Heavenly realm or Hell? Dying and being turned into sets of data on a chip? Or just a void of darkness with no thought of consciousness. Just completely eerie.
Many thanks to Dominator131 who not only requested this cello mix but also helped with suggesting a bunch of possible tracks. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the final mix!
Thank you for this! These melodies make it easy to get lost into the music and my thoughts.
I would like an expansion where you get to play as Johnny. Not sure how the story would work, but hell, it'd be great to get reunited with the dude.
Check the character window. See the bottom slot empty just saying Relic?
Yeah I'm pretty sure we're gonna get to play as Johnny and even build him as well it seems
Damn this makes me want to start another playthough again. Such an absolute masterpiece.
I love the parts where you can hear an acoustic version of never fade away play in the background
I love how Marcin brings that dark, eerie medieval vibe from The Witcher but with a futuristic touch. It really gives that hopeless "wrong city, wrong people" feeling it's almost depressing. Incredible!
After everything you've been through with Johnny, this is a big decision to make how you want the journey to end
I hated him to the core, but in the end when I made the drastic decision, I regretted it. Just as he said I would.

the soundtrack is pretty much why i'm still around in this community. the game itself i haven't touched in months since i got burned out on (massive open world games tend to do that to me, i haven't even done a full second replay of the witcher 3). but the music is the single thread left. it's everything i love - the dread, the emotional rollercoaster, the memories of the main story.
