      Good thinking. The real estate sector is booming across Nigeria, not just Lagos. If you're in the upper scale space, I would actually advice getting into the Abuja market before Lagos. The money in Abuja is something else, and there's less competition.

    It’s a work in progress but I can envision the end result already. The location and materials used in the building states to me that it’s for an extremely niche crowd. While some people are trying to ascertain price, i am pondering how much the “service charge” would be yearly for this development, considering you get free breakfast daily, uninterrupted power, in built AC etc … It’s definitely thought provoking.

    In many countries there are different aesthetics that are unique to the building exterior designs and the interiors. If a person can afford a property like this, they have probably been to countries abroad; and they would want something unique to the region. If an affluent person wants the Dubai experience, they go to Dubai. An affluent person likes things that are authentic

    Well, I think this idea is amazing and the building is fantastic but I have my reservations. Now, looking at this from a business perspective, your target market is actually the upper middle class and not the wealthy. Y? Cos the wealthy would rather have their own buildings than rent. Like, have u seen a truly wealthy man living in a rented apartment? Now, how many upper middle class ppl would rather stay in a pricey apartment than build their own? Even if they do, how long can they possibly stay y b4 they feel the need to get their own? I have a lot to say but let me just summarize by saying that this whole project will be more profitable as a hotel than as a residential apartment. I could b wrong but that’s my thought

    I can count how many times "Dubai" was mentioned in this video, sometimes I feel inferiority complex is the issue here for some developers/realors (apologies), they feel if they have not mentioned dubai or "this furniture was imported" then the house is not standard enough. I like this house, and i will still buy it without the need of the many "Dubai standard" that was mentioned , i don't see the need of being in Nigeria and actively promoting/marketing another country.

    • @therealist2866
      @therealist2866 Před 2 měsíci +2

      It’s simply a standard, for better or worse. No different from comparing education in Nigeria/Africa to western or other global standards. Doesn’t prevent YOU from building a mud hut if that’s YOUR personal preference.
      Agree the “imported” furniture bit is a bit overdone and frankly unnecessary (one reason the Naira’s free fall), but as the developer noted there are Nigerian-made ones (very good ones, I might add). Ultimately, nonetheless, Nigerian manufacturers have to shoot for global standards and if they can meet same they will invariably enjoy a price advantage.

    Very Dubai in the predominantly downmarket Ikoyi.
    All these Nigerian billionaires living in Ikoyi need to improve the infrastructure. Roads are full of potholes. I stayed a few years ago at The George Hotel... inexplicably the most expensive hotel in Nigeria.. the road it is located on is a disgrace and the bathrooms are 3 star.
    Why don’t these developers incorporate some African architectural elements Ali to the design and desist blindly copying Dubai.
    As for the purchase cost... that’s another story... service charge $$$$$$ and in -10
    years time will the value of your exorbitantly expensive apartment appreciate exponentially in value like in the west?

      Nigeria doesn’t exist in an island. Accordingly, the continent (and Nigerian designers, of which I personally know some very good ones) “grow” by competing against, learning from, and interacting with, the best from around the world. You have no right to tell others what they should do with their hard earned money and or what property is good enough or not good enough for them. That’s stupid. Don’t waste your life criticizing the efforts and achievements of others. Go hustle it out and make the money yourself and do whatever you want to do with your money. You must be crazy to think you can tell anyone to do what you please when they are not asking or soliciting for money or any support from you to do what they are doing. It’s very annoying and arrogant to me. Don’t be an armchair critic who lives in penury. Go make your money and do whatever you like with it. We will congratulate you and celebrate with you. Please let others live their lives as they choose to. Don’t be bitter about the success of others. It’s just an advice I am giving to you like you love to give advice to others.
