You canât stand on the dance floor in a club in the U.K. while this is playing without having lukewarm lager sloshed over you by everyone jumping up and down on the spot when this plays⊠itâs beautiful.
It really is
I wouldn't change it for the world
Between this and Mr Brightside, which one would you choose? Just curious
@@guilhermeperecin9162 for me personally, Chelsea Dagger.
â@@guilhermeperecin9162are you a monster? Choose one?
They've been playing this intro after every Chicago Blackhawk goal for about 12 years.
it might be one of the best goal songs since brass bonanza
Is Blackhawks hockey? This has become a popular songs for crowds at UK soccer games too.
@@mmhdata Yes. The Chicago Blackhawks are an Ice Hockey team.
@@mmhdata It's probably what this song is most known for
@@mmhdata And yes, they're from the nhl. They won three chamionships during a six year span so this song in particular was very well known
The Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL use this as their goal song.
As a Canucks fan I absolutely hated this song.
@@leighhorne1670 Well fortunately we don't have to hear it very often this year đ€Ł
The Fratellis are such an underrated band. All of their albums are great from beginning to end.
The song is homage to Jon Frateli"s wife Heather Donnelly who's stage name as a Burlesque dancer is Chelsea Dagger
I've always wondered... thank you!
I believe her burlesque name was a play on the name Britney Spears.
@@garykidson4489 Whether or not that's true, I'm lovin' it!
@@Pixelologist Haha I googled it after writing that comment to check I hadn't made it up and it is true!
Ok
This was the Chicago Blackhawks goal song back when they won 3 Stanley Cups few years ago!
Still is
Such a happy song. Happy sound.
Whistle for the choir is another banger from the Fratellis if you're interested.
All fratellis songs are bangers ;)
The Chicago Blackhawks (hockey) goal celebration song.
Love the great exposure by the black hawks for this song but Iâm a redwing fan
@@john0691 you're forgiven of that sin đ
Removing you guys from our division was the worst choice ever... seriously.
@@nukem8128 all about timezones
And came out years before and damn that first cup was while back now but madhoussse
@@jacobkelley7762 Iâm a hawk fan but ainât the red wings also central time they in the mid west too
The singer's wife stage name when she was a dancer was Chelsea Dagger (a pun on Britney Spears: Chelsea (Britany) Dagger (Spears). If you ever watched the Chicago Blackhawks at home you would have heard this before.
Fratelli is Italian for 'brother'.
Exactly - I expect to see a Patrick Kane goal celly whenever I hear this
The Fratellis is also the family name of the bad guys in The Goonies, after whom the band was named
This plays whenever the Chicago blackhawks score a goal. When they were winning Stanley cups a few years ago the united center would be rocking when this came on
This reminds me of early Arctic Monkeys "Fluorescent Adolescent", and The Strokes "Last Night" or "Reptilia" and The Donnas "Take it Off"
I really wish theyâd react to the Donnas. Great girl band that never got enough credit.
From a certain angle, everything sounds like The Strokes and probably is.
This is off the Costello music album, the whole album is awesome
So now we know you guys are not secret NHL fans. This is the Chicago Blackhawks goal celebration song at their home games and is better known for that than it was on its own, at least in North America. They made this their goal song right before they started a dynasty for the better part of a decade. So this song got played on NBC many many times in the 2010s. "Goal scored by Patrick Kane, assisted by Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith at 19:03." There's another reaction video to this song, after they beat the hell out of Vancouver in the 09 playoffs a Van reporter went around the Canucks locker room handing the players headphones, playing this song, and seeing their reaction. It's a funny video. They had some PTSD.
its more than that its QUALITY BRITISH ROCK N ROLL XX
Mon the Fratellis. Whistle for the Choir is great. Anything from Costello Music is worth reacting to
Hi Brad and Lex. I searched to see if you had done a review of The Fratellis and I'm so glad you have, as they are from Glasgow in Scotland, very near to my hometown of Paisley. As others have said, you must listen to more from this band. Their song 'Henrietta' strangely always reminded me of the 70's musical film Bugsy Malone, set in the roaring 20's with a full cast of kids, playing adults. That's a movie you need to experience... I remember a wild gig of The Fratellis at the SEC in Glasgow, when the drummer smashed up his kit at the end of the gig and even through some of it off the stage. Proper Rock n' Roll style. Absolutely brilliant! Ăx đ
The woefully underrated TV show "Chuck" introduced me to this one.
A truly great show with an equally great soundtrack. đ€
The ultimate UK DARTs drinking song.
Kudos to whoever voted for that.
we need more brits on streams so we can push more good music from here. It's so late though. Was happy to get this on
This is one of the songs everyone knows in Ireland and the uk
This band is great...have been a fan for a while. Definitely worth checking out a few of their other songs before moving on. "Henrietta," "For the Girl," or "Whistle for the Choir" (a slower song) are good ones from their album "Costello Music"
The Chicago Blackhawks play it every time they score a goal.
You need to do more Fratellis. Their whole first album is incredible but Whistle For The Choir is genuinely my favourite song of all time. Definitely recommend it
A great video too, of The Fratellis in the centre of Glasgow, their home city. Ă đ
The fratellis do a great cover of " yes Sir, I Can Boogie "( on the Chris Evans breakfast show ) originally done by Baccara ..most definitely worth a reaction :)
Outstanding................
I love this song!
I really dig the Fratellis! Actually only discovered them when Apple used them for one of their iPod commercials. I didn't usually pay much attention to those ads but this one just grabbed me and the song - Flathead - instantly went into heavy rotation on my portable.
Thank you for introducing me to this song. Love it!
I like to say I listen to my music with the weather, and The Fratellis are always an example I give for some sunny day happy sounding music.
It does have that poppy upbeat 90s guitar sound. Chelsea is a neighbourhood in London.
Reminds me of going to Chicago Blackhawks games !!!!
These guys are good. Garage punk/indie rock band. đž. This song sounded like a pub punk song. Sing-along and drunk. Kind of songs you hear at sporting events too. Lol Lots of good songs from them. They are like Artic Monkeys and The Strokes. Brad you're right. '90s/'00s punkish style music and chants.
What a fun song!! The band and the song are new to me, thanks for introducing us!!!
I never want this song to end!
From the excellent ''noughties'' when there were so many good bands/music. Give Muse and Kasabian a listen.
I'd add The Boxer rebellion and Editors.
Love, love, love Kasabian (and The S.L.P.)! At least 20+ great songs. Have seen them live 2x, hope to again soon
I love The Fratellis. I've seen them live several times and they always bring it. One show I saw at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles and they played for like 2 and a half hours! They're awesome. Further listening for them:
Whistle For The Choir
For The Girl
Baby Fratelli
A Heady Tale
Mistress Mabel
Tell Me A Lie
Halloween Blues
Whisky Saga
Jeannie Nitro
This is a very restrained list which easily could have ended up just being the entirety of their first 3 albums, which I don't think have a single bad song among any of them.
Creeping up the Backstairs?
@@platinumspider7859 Is on the first three albums, so as I said, could have easily made the list if I hadn't tried really hard to restrict myself to just 3 songs from each of those.
I've seen them live a few times, too! Sometimes at tiny venues here in Washington, DC, with only a couple hundred people. Interestingly enough, the non-banger "Slow" from Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied may have become my favorite Fratellis song over the years.
Great band This whole album is fire
This is about Jon Fratelli's wife who's a burlesque dancer. Her stage name is Chelsea Dagger (a play on words of Britney Spears)
Saw them supporting Kasabian a few times years ago. Seen them loads since. Cracking blokes, really friendly. Looking forward to their new stuff.
Henrietta is another great song by these Scottish icons â€
Another Scottish band you should check out is Biffy Clyro, great channel guys đđ»
Glad you found The Fratellis. They were in the zone with this album - Costello Music. The zipper analogy works for me with this song, lol!
Now here's a band I have not thought about in a long time, a long time. Like how long Ben Kenobi had to wait before being called Obi Won again in the original Star Wars movie. Like that long.
One of my favorite bands - I actually first heard this chorus in a commercial for a local area supermarket chain, of all things. So many great songs - they are kinda Oi, kinda Pub Punk - do genres even exist anymore? Did they ever?
They kinda remind me of Panic At The Disco mixed in with Queens of The Stone Age. Fun upload!
That was the Chicago Blackhawks goal song since they won 3 Stanley Cup Titles I love it â€đ€
Brad's half right - it's best known in Britain as a football (soccer) song. For several years the "doo da doo" bit was played whenever Celtic (their local team in Glasgow) scored a goal, and later used by London team Chelsea FC (for obvious reasons). It's something else hearing 10,000 voices chanting it out!
Much more popular and widely known in the states for the Chicago Blackhawks
This song is legendary in Chicago for The Blackhawks
Like riding a zipper! đ€Ł Sounds like a great double entendre! Lex, you have the most awesome analogies! đđ
I reckon those boys enjoyed making this video...
Costello Music is a great album, with each track having different and unpredictable rhythms. I would recommend 'Baby Fratelli' next.
GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!
All rise up for the British National Anthem
Go Blackhawks!!! â€đ€
The Fratellis are from Glasgow Scotland and I'm not sure you don't need to understand some Glaswegian for many of their songs to make sense.
Defo top pub dance song pints all over the place wen this comes on đ
Please do "Flathead" by the Fratellis. Watch the video. You'll be glad you did!!!
"A dog is an animal with big floppy ears!"
BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
â€
The album Costello Music is based on the sound of the Bugsy Malone movie. Great album.
Saw them live (supporting madness) and was great
me too :) both so good
Wow, you finally did a reaction to something I didn't know
Henrietta is great too. Just saw them live at their home town. Amazing.
Another couple of great Scottish bands to listen to, Kassidy and Glasvegas
Texas and Altered Images also!
Also Biffy Clyro and Amazing Snakeheads
Awesome song
I love their song Medusa in Chains. It's slow but the lyrics are amazing.
Hi! Have a different one for you all.
Elephant love... Off the sound track of Moulin Rouge.. awesome blending of great songs in one.
Brad really movin to this one.
The young ladies are from Club Nor. A up scale Burlesque theater. Glasgow Scottland
Since you've been doing punk check out Minutemen, either "The Glory of Man" or "Viet Nam." One of the greatest punk bands ever and they feature the greatest punk bassist ever imo.
This is my Blackhawks goal song!
So glad you listened to them! A great band with little to no exposure in the US. Check out We Need Medicine.
this is quite well known amongst sports fans
Oooh! If you like this, check out their most recent album. It tugs at the heart đ but their â yes sir, I can boogieâ cover is better if youre not already a fan
Mon the Fratellis!! Greatest band of all time! If you don't agree, see a doctor!
Great song đđđđđŠđș
Hawk's win!
This entire ablum is a banger
Agree
Reminds me of Blackhawks đ.
Brits will immediately think of celebrations when their football team scores. And I especially mean Forest here.
Go Blackhawks!
Fantastic band, try whistle for the choir or acid jazz singer..
you should do a video on indie music like cage the elephant, arctic monkeys, mac demarco
If you want to check out some top quality UK indie check out the Libertines. Time for Heroes or Can't Stand Me Now are good places to start. âïž
Or Babyshambles F__k Forever
you know it may be a good idea to turn captions on to see the lyrics of the songs đ
Have the lyrics available, sure, but...have you seen CZcams closed captions? Especially with accents, localized idioms and slang - well, it can be hilarious, but I don't think that what they are going for here...
I don't know if you guys heard of this song yet, but if you haven't you guys should react to "Come As You Are" by Nirvana
So Brad wasn't paying attention to the lyrics because of the music......nothing to do with a dozen burlesque dancers đ€
Scotland finest đŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó ż
PTSD for any nhl playing against the hawks at Madhouse on Madison from 2010-2015
You need to do Arctic Monkys
Yes đ«đź
Get on the streams with us, been trying but not enough votes on the poll, bar one song so far.
R.I.P. Taylor Hawkins,The Foo Fighters drummer passed away in Bogata, Columbia one hour before the band was scheduled to play.
âTIME HAS COME TODAYâ- The Chambers Brothers - Album Long version, then Live. PLEASE and Thank You. After you will be thanking me. Youâre Welcome.
As a Blackhawks fan ,i have it on my phone as my ring tone !!
This song is used in the world dart championship
Great tune try their other songs whistle for the choir and Henrietta đ
Definitely give Kasabian a spin or two next, another great band! đ€
OMG your Scottish vibes on show.............
Lex would make an awesome music video director.
Mushroomhead - Solitaire Unraveling.
As a Blackhawks fan all this song means is the Hawks scored a goal.
Kasabian - club foot next đđ„đ„đđ„
A lighthearted stab at Britney Spears.
Dadaduh dadaduh
Henrietta next!!!
