Don't bring you're fast paced no time to waste mentality here. We are respectful and move at our own pace. Keep it chill and you will get along.
Dude, you don't own the place. In real life, it's a higher desert version of Palm Springs.
I rode my motorcycle around the country from Philadelphia a few years back and I broke down in the Oregon high desert. I got a tow to the closest Harley dealer which was in Bend. I was there for three days while my bike got fixed. Central Bend was a nice walkable area with unique shops and restaurants. I liked Oregon very much it’s a beautiful state. I was surprised by the lack of “sprawl” like you pointed out. Being from the Northeast there isn’t really open land between towns and cities, but out west cities and towns have a more defined end.
We are also a couple hundred years younger than the East. 😆
It's funny, our oldest buildings and homes are only 100 years old here in Bend. But it is lovely here for sure.
The hospital issue is serious. If you are having a stroke you have to be flown to Portland & I have met people who didn’t make it on time and are now sitting in a wheel chair and other really awful situations. My husband was in CA when he had a stroke and it saved him as they have the equipment to dissolve a clot. This is something to know about before you make a decision.Pointing out stuff like this would be ethical. when we moved here I did not have a clue about this.
Ouch, that's scary 😢
You're so right about the airport. Dealing with airports in major cities is such a hassle. The Redmond airport is just so peaceful by comparison.
Right! We are so lucky
Is it a lot more to fly from
very imformative, thank you
Our pleasure!
I love Bend ❤
Thank you for these videos! Central Oregon is my dream spot to live! Is La Pine growing as fast as bend? While it’s a little commute, would love to hear more about it!
LaPine, YES! That's been on our list for a while now. We just haven't gotten around to it. Thanks for asking. We will do what we can.
Also, it gets above 110 in the summer here (Bend), easily
Fact checkers have determined this statement is false.
Redmond currently does not have flights to Portland.
Crazy right! Those will come back... they always do.
Bend used to be nice!!! But everyone started telling people about how cool it was, and now it's just a played out crowded over priced town!!! PEOPLE RUIN EVERYTHING!!! DONT MOVE HERE, PLEASE!! I know california sucks but please find somewhere else to move and allow the locals to enjoy our space!
No shopping in Bend but yeah everything else.
Oh, come on... it's getting better. 😆
Ok, I may move there. I may have found my people.
We do have a wide variety of outdoor activities, the "best of the best" as you say but I don't think a single shot in your montage was from Central Oregon. We have a lot of talented local videographers that could help you out.
Cool, send em to me.

I like Bend the way it is now, unfortunately it keeps popping up on top 10 lists of places to live in national magazines, so it will not stay this size.
10 mins to get across town 😂
RIGHT!!! Takes more than 10 minutes to get through the lights on the parkway depending on the time of day. We are way over crowded!
@@Elizabeth_in_progressI fear they are going to have to expand the highway at some point. The traffic jams are horrendous.
Hi, do you know if Bend have low-income rental apartments? It will be for a short-term I am planning on selling my house here in California. Thank you.
There are. I don't know what that actually means as far as how much the rents are, but they do exist. There is actually more vacancy now in the new apartments than we've had in years, so there are all kinds of incentives.
@@KrommRealEstate how much rent is yours? A two bedroom apartment?
We don't personally have a rental, but if you want to send us an email, we can connect there.
How is basketball for teens. My son needs this 😂
That's a great question. Honestly, I don't really know.
Bend Oregon is overpriced, overcrowded, has a severe shortage of mental health providers, has a poor healthcare system with only one hospital that is struggling financially and can't seem to retain or recruit healthcare workers so if you need medical specialists then Bend is not a great option. The houseless population is growing and the city officials never seem to find solutions. The houseless people occupy a space for a while and then the city officials have them removed. The houseless people move to the next location all to have the same thing happen all over again. The public schools have issues and the state of Oregon is in the top 10 list of states with the highest drop out rates. The commmunity college in Bend is very small and colleges in Oregon are pricier than other states. There are natural spaces to explore but you will be doing so with hundreds of people if you want to go in the Spring and Summer. Unfortunately the natural beauty is being loved to death. There are also dangerous levels of pollution during the wildfire season due to toxic smoke. Bend has had several days of hazardous air quality in the past 2-3 years making it impossible to go outside and it's difficult to keep the smoke from seeping into your home. The drought is severe and so Central Oregon is ripe for dangerous wildfires. If you have certain medical conditions that are made worse by wildfire smoke then consider moving elsewhere. I actually do like this CZcams channel and there has been at least one video done with a list of some of the negative aspects of living in Bend but what I have discovered is that most of the glowing reviews of Bend are from realtors and guides. Bend is about 31% more expensive than the national average so be prepared to pay more for homes, rent, gas and food. Just an honest review based on my experience of living in Bend Oregon.
Thank you for the indepth and independent review. I don't argue any of those points. However, there are issues facing every community, and taking it all in, I'd still rather live here than anywhere else.
Agree with most of what you said, Born and raised in bend before Leaving 2019. Central oregon has always had wildfires and smoke problems, just depends on the year
Some years good others bad.

We did NOT get 300 days of sunshine this year. It was very cold and cloudy most of the time.
