    I was at the Glastonbury Festival, back in the day, in 1986, when everyone was moving around like that.... ;-)

      WinChun78 nice one .. I was at Stonehenge in 85 after the battle of the bean field .. we were all moved to savanak forest then Westbury hill.. a great year but my so much has changed heh

    • @WinChun78
      @WinChun78 Před 6 lety +2

      We tried to get to Stonehenge in '85, but were turned away and then were told there was an alternative festival at Westbury White Horse Hill. When we got there, there were police everywhere and helicopters flying low over the site with them telling people to get off with megaphones, so we headed on to the Glastonbury Festival instead. Official price was only £15 back in those days, but it rained a lot that weekend and people were coming out and selling their tickets for a fiver each, who had had enough of the rain, so we got in for just £5 each! The rain wasn't that bad...Strangely enough, it was somehow all coming down in neon colours at night.. ;-0

    Lovely stuff!.....being really picky, the sun doesn't rise or set....The earth's rotation gives us that sense! The unfortunate thing with this day means we are now heading towards winter already. I love my golf and getting outside and enjoying the daylight, April is the start of the season....so quick to get to June, esp with our poor spring,,,beast from the east and all!!! Enjoy summer while it's here.

    3 Praise him, sun and moon,
    praise him, all you shining stars!
    4 Praise him, you highest heavens,
    and you waters above the heavens!
    5 Let them praise the name of the Lord!
    For he commanded and they were created.
    6 And he established them forever and ever;
    he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.
    7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all deeps,
    8 fire and hail, snow and mist,
    stormy wind fulfilling his word!
    9 Mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars!
    10 Beasts and all livestock,
    creeping things and flying birds!
    11 Kings of the earth and all peoples,
    princes and all rulers of the earth!
    12 Young men and maidens together,
    old men and children!
    13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his majesty is above earth and heaven.
    14 He has raised up a horn for his people,
    praise for all his saints,
    for the people of Israel who are near to him.
    Praise the Lord!

    June
    Oh what a wondrous sight to see
    The rose buds bursting forth
    And the flowering rowan tree
    Enhanced by moorland gorse
    The daffodils have had their day
    They can no more compete
    And resign to hide away
    Beneath the meadowsweet
    Of watching planting at its best
    For tis the month of June
    And putting nature to the test
    As spring is oer so soon
    Blue spires of lupin launch themselves
    A race to reach gods light
    As spring gives out its last farewell
    And leaves without a fight
    The beast are lazing in the sun
    The warmest of the year
    The skylarks sweetest song is sung
    To those it holds most dear
    Tis soon to be the longest day
    Summer solstice now doth loom
    Don't waste the most fertile month
    For tis the month of June

    The sad thing about all of this is, those beautiful stones were completely ignored until about 10 years ago (give or take). I first visited them in 1994 and they were just stones and a carpark. Now they are showcased through a marketting scheme to cream huge amounts of money from the public. There was more mystery around these stones before the Heritage got hold of them. Sorry folks, but that is my honest opinion. Modern greedy limelight.

    Bonito, pero creo las personas deberían estar alrededor del monumento y no dentro, él está creado para ver como entra el sol por una de sus puertas y toca la piedra central. Van a destruirlo poco a poco y no quedará nada para un futuro. Ustedes los ingleses y arqueólogos del mundo no cuidan suficiente este monumento Megalítico tan importante.
