Love this, 2 brother's making music (which they have done for years) on the Refrew ferry, what a great combination, piano/vocals with just pure musical ability. They grew up a few hundred yards from me and know the chapel they talk about in the full concert. Their mother was a midwife who worked with my mother and couldn't be prouder of 2 Coatbridge boys who deserved much more recognition than they got.. that coming from a proud Coatbridge boy...
Wow, this is a wonderful cover! Marvellous!
I was there that night.....unforgettable.
Sublime. The definitive version!
Wow how good is this, Mr Costello was impressed I am sure
Best cover of a great song. Love hue and cry m
Yes, Its worth it. So much love.
I think this is the best version.
Stunning.
Great performance
Superb
Really nice cover version 👌
more levels than the level shop
I would assume, mr Costello was not impressed. Of all the versions if this dong I have heard, and I have heard many, this is by far the worst. Shipbuilding is a song, where the emotion is in the lyrics. It is ill suited to the Pat Kane affectation, we all know you can sing Pat, what you cannot do is interpret,
Grollocks. Pat interpreted this song beautifully
2 years have passed since I posted my comment, so I gave Pat the cabbie another chance. Sorry Edwin, his ability to interpret the nuances of the song are non existent. I am glad it met your standards, truly; however may I suggest that you listen to Elvis version and the Robert Wyatt version. Singing is one thing, interpreting the song, feeling the lyrics, bringing emotion these things require actual talent.
I totally disagree that's Pat's style and it's brilliant.
Christopher John Blue agreed, seemed very heartfelt to me and conveyed the emotions v well
Edwin Stratton agreed, emotions seemed perfect to me, plus his voice just seals the deal🙌🏻
