A little disappointing to see certain sections of the show where Nikhil Kamath didn't get much to speak. He has very interesting perspective on a lot of different topics, but the very long questions from audience took away the opportunity of Nikhil sharing his thoughts. Take for example the Airshwarya lady, right after her question got labeled as a "good" question, her loyalties shifted from her question to herself. In the future, please limit the length of the questions and let the main guest speak, which is what we the viewers came here for.

Secondly, this Aishwarya in audience simply hijacked the conversation and got little annoying.

Why was that lady in the audience allowed to trail off and hijack the conversation? Overall disappointed that a sitting head of state's daughter can barge in and let her presence be known so much obnoxiously.
Heard to conversation as much as I could for Nikhil's presence. He has profound depth of experience which I think Shekar could have allowed him to speak without interruptions. I'm looking forward to if Nikhil's WTF team will bring on a podcast on Journalism because it seems that's what this conversation devolved into.

I believe IT & tech sector discriminates least against any gender, or rather, actually gives advantage to women - you even hear in this conversation Kalari capital saying they don't fund equal number of women as they fund men, and then started a fund especially for women - this goes beyond a level playfield.
I agree there's discrimination against women in some jobs, but not much in tech, which was also evident when both the women from the audience couldn't give a concrete example. And no, saying that every women gets asked about her marriage as the first question is completely baseless. If it were true, there would be thousands of cases, and in tech sector, the cases can receive a lot of visibility very quickly!
That said, it was a brilliant show, and loved Nikhil's clarity of thoughts, and felt sad at how carefully he had to choose his words because of social media 'journalists'.
Honest and frank conversation about being a founder of a company and paper valuation.

Wonderful interview with a young icon. The reason people are losing faith in mainstream TV is that the anchor suddenly runs out of time when a person on the show asks a question which should be answered theeadbare even if the 9 o clock news is delayed. This is possibly the reason people like me are spending more time on you tube than on watching television.

Thank you for supporting us.
It’s an interesting question about women in leadership positions-as Sally Helgesen puts it in her book “How Women Rise” that I’m coincidentally reading right now, it’s a mix of factors.
One that really makes a difference is how from a very young age girls and boys are validated for specific behaviours, especially in India where how you present yourself reflects directly on your family’s ‘class’ and ‘honour’. Behaviours that emphasise aggression and confidence are considered normal and natural for young boys and they’re rewarded for them, whereas the opposite is true for girls. Meekness and quietness, a sense of responsibility towards the family - “helping around the house “ - is validated in girls.
This sense of validation shows itself in workplaces later. Women tend to be more hesitant to show confidence and take risks whereas it comes more naturally to men.
There’s a lot of other structural problems in place too, although it’s true we’ve made great advances and I hope will continue to do better. :)

Few ground rules would have made this a much better show. I’m trying really hard to watch this, but after Aishwarya taking this much time to ask an obvious question- I have stopped. It is such a waste of Nikhil’s time. Also, Shekhar Gupta has to stop jumping in every where interrupting Nikhil, strange to watch.

Shekhar Gupta seems to want to prove and probably assumes that he is older and therefore automatically wiser than his guest. Possibly he can show a healthy restraint after asking his question.😊

Why does Shekhar Gupta keep interrupting Nikhil ??
Capitalism can be many things but it is not biased. If there are fewer women founders in the start-up ecosystem then it is not due to bias, it is probably more due to the quality of ideas. I'm yet to meet an investor who would say no to a bright idea just because it didn't come from his tech bro. Money is a great leveller. In front of it, there is no gender, but just the colour, the colour green.
Looks like Nikhil got first hand experience of how does it feel to not get to speak and finish your answer due to constant interruptions by the interviewer. He does in his podcast to other people.
The girl got her data wrong. What she stated surprised me and I checked the numbers. As per the National sample survey, In 2011-12, women accounted for just 14.6% of all engineering students, and this figure has only slightly increased to 19.2% in 2020-21.
Disappointed and irritated that SG likes to talk more than his guests. The constant interruptions and making your guests lose their trains of thought makes it an uncomfortable watch. I know you have got this feedback from other watchers multiple times. Please ask the question and let them talk.
