I really know what you say, i have been struggling with bearings past 10+ years now and the brands that used to be quality parts are useless now, it should not be the case that you have to buy multiple sets of bearings to assemble one engine. Thank you for showing this.
If we are going to turn a crank, we will get the bearings, install the bearings, measure and turn the crank to achieve bearing clearance. Have left journals. 002 larger than spec. in bearing book. Have been told bearings are manufactured differently than in years past.
I can remember Michigan made a good bearing then they merged with Clevite and became Michigan 77 now Mahle bought them all out.........Getting back to Comp Cams and Eagle there's no way I'd install their products in any engine. And I live in Memphis and they're down the street.
I remember back in the 80s it was common to scrub the bearing with Scotch-Brite was very highly debated at the time but the parents would become an apart in the Box people wanted the coating off of them
Nice work pat thanks for sharing
