- A few people have asked me if a smart switch can be used to control a FAN switch. In this video we will find out. Additionally, you will learn how the C by GE On/Off switch compares to C-Start, Belkin and Wemo.

Install Review: This smart switch was pretty easy to install. I have other GE products and intend to build an smart home ecosystem around this entire product line. I believe in 2021 GE will continue to grow and make Hue moves! Lets watch and see. They have the product history and years of product knowledge. I want to see them leverage their name to make the brand feel cutting edge rather than ancient. The GE is not for generic. The C By GE Teams are creating. I rate this product 'Go Get It!' or 4.5 out of 5.
Let me know if you have any questions. Also check out my other video on the C by GE Light Strips! • Cync / C by GE - Full ... and my video review and installation of the C by GE C-Start Smart Dimmer Switch • Video .
8:53 might be the most sensual engagement outro I've ever heard, the music ties it all in.
You might be right. 😂 I appreciate the comment Frosty.
(Denzel voice) My man! Great video. Very informative. You answered all my questions/ concerns and then some. Thanks!
Btw, good music and lmao at "thick in the hips"!
😆 Happy to help!
this deserves more views this is a well made video
Thank you.. I appreciate that comment. 💯
Must be the annoying music. Geesh!
Cool video thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
This is a cool video! I feel like Isaac Hayes taught us how to install a switch, with the music....lmbao!
Thats funny, man! Thats encouraging, maybe I should do more. Thanks for your comment! Will you be my neighbor?
@@MagnumEDU .....my cardigan is ready!
Gotta have symmetry! Nice video.
😃 Thanks for watching
I know this is an old post but I hope by now you would of found 2 gain screwless cover and plate by Lutron. Very streamlined looks clean and of course no screws! Thanks, great video.
Genius!! For anyone else looking to clean up their dual switch plates check out this link www.lutron.com/en-US/Products/Pages/StandAloneControls/Wallplates-Accessories/Designer.aspx suggested by @William Davies. I'll suggest these to Ronin Drummond. 😆 one year later! Thanks man. I appreciate the comment.
I got one thanks for the walk through bro!
No problem 👍
Does the C by GE Switches require the ground to work? I have an older house 1970s the metal boxs isn't grounded. Or I can always use the ground wire and tap it into the hot?
The 'newest' version of this switch does not require a ground wire.
Is light and fan switch wiring different? I tried with switch that doesn’t have neutral and installed for fan but the fan motor is making noise probably it is not loading enough power. Do you know how to resolve that
Hey question I had the bulbs and the wireless switches they work well but I got the c reach and it’s saying it doesn’t currently support devices type to its location wen I try adding the switch to the location of the bulbs so it seem to only work with voice control and app control with the reach device or only switch and app control I would love a way to get everything to work as one
Hey SkellexxxFourty, I would call C By Ge's support line. I called them after I did my own research and they were able to throw me a few more nuggets.
I was thoroughly amused and I’m not even looking to install this smart switch
Thank you Blaine, thats great. I a few more smart lighting and switch videos on the way.
Where do i get the faceplates for those? “The double switch” ones.

Amazon
Thanks. But I only have 1 switch. Not 2 like you do. Will it still work? I use smart light bulbs.
Yes, this will absolutely work even though you have one switch.
@@MagnumEDU thanks. Looks like I'm, buying one now.
yo tengo este mismo interruptor inteligente..pero resulta que mis luces led parpadean y se apagar y enciende..!!!será por que no tienen la carga necessária...que puedo hacer....
Can you also control the fan speed? Also, can you turn the lights off if you are not at home? Thanks!
Unfortunately, you cannot change the fan speed with an on/off switch but you can find smart adapter kits for your current fan at Lowe's and The Home Depot that give you the ability to control your fan using your smart phone.
@@MagnumEDU I am able to control the fan speed from the wall or with the app.
I have four CYNC wafer lights and a smart ceiling fan I'm installing in a new construction. Will this switch be able to control the lights and the fan? Do I need two separate switches if so? Or can I use one switch and have everything voice activated?
Sorry for the delay but yes you would need separate switches. Honestly in my opinion there are some greater options for a lessor price if you wanted to control multiple devices from a single switch. I’ve found some great ones on Amazon. Additionally I’ve made a switch over to Wyze products and would love to tell you why
Very cool! Thank u for showing us and also, for letting me know it won’t control speeds! Oh man! Do you know which one will control speed?
There are devices you can buy to control your fans and control it's speed via smart app. You'll find these type of solutions in stores like HomeDepot and Lowes.
One more question about the switch. Can it work with 2 fan's on 1 switch?
Hey whats up! Yeah it can if those two fans are connected to that single switch. Its been some time since I posted this video but there are some really great new and more customizable options on the market by Lutron and TP-Link. To be honest I kind of feel like CYNC (C by GE) as a brand let me down some. Btw, let me know if you've tried connecting 2 fans to the switch. Good luck!
What's the purpose of the bulb adapter? I want this wired to LED lights that don't use bulbs.
It will stop the light from flickering off and on.
How have these been running for you? I see a bunch of reviews saying these don't work correctly
Absolutely fine. They work great. Since this video I’ve added a few different switches around the house. Each has its benefits
Mines keep disconnecting from the network
What face plate are you using
Hello King, I'm using the original face plate that was on the switch prior to install. If you currently have paddle switches this light switch should fit with no issue. Have you bought this switch?
I bought but I returned it as it was only 5amps and I wanted to install on 20 amp kitchen lights. I ended up buying the Kasa switch. 14 dollars each and does the same thing with faster connectivity
Whats the total amount of equipment you can add to 1 account?
I've never seen a limit listed anywhere
@@MagnumEDU its 50. I added them to my house. I currently have either 46 or 47 devices… the limit is 50 and you would have to make a “fake home” to add more which isnt ideal. So for all my other LED strips ive been going with Govee as i do need to eventually add a motion sensor switch to mh laundry room and his and hers closets. That would pretty much max it out for 1 home
Does it work with alexa???
Yep!
Yes
The next thing that’s going to bother you is the exposed screw heads in the face plate
😂🤣 Let’s hope not.
You could trim that down about 7 minutes.
Thank you fir your feedback. Your right! I will begin uploading a few Wyze product review videos and smart sensor quick bit videos. I personally welcome your feedback. Thanks!
Which damn bulbs does this thing like??? Without the adapter lol
