- Cat Stevens "Moonshadow" from the "Teaser and the Firecat" album. That was the first Cat Stevens album I ever bought after hearing "The Wind", turns out it was actually a great album all together. Anyway, here's my rendition for you guys to play along with.
- Hudba
excellent. Thanks. Saw him perform in Marbella 2 days ago. His voice is as strong as ever
Wonderful both the playing and the singing ❤❤❤❤❤
You cannot be disappointed awesome demonstration great core description on the best ones I've seen yet I used to play bass guitar in the '80s and taking up acoustic electric 6-string this is really awesome thank you
bill your my new favourite guitar tutor on youtube. thanks buddy your helping my playing a lot and inspiring me to push on learning more.
Hi Bill, Fantastic tutorials! Your work here is so much appreciated. Your style of teaching and choice of songs are amazing. Looking forward to seeing more great stuff! Mark
Cheers Mark, looking forward to having some time to actually do some more of these myself! Will get there though. Thanks for watching them and for the comment, good luck with the playing too!
Bill.
Brilliant. Also, thank goodness for variable speed playback which makes this totally accessible. I'm picking things up way faster now too. All you beginners, hang in there. When you actually start to get it, it's the best natural high!
I feel like I just hit the jackpot finding your channel. You have the best teaching method on the whole web and share the same musical taste with me. Thank you very much!!!!
+Andres Valdes Thanks Andres, at least I feel like I'm doing the right thing when I get comments like this! I learned by playing along with others, so thought it would be a good way to show people, and seeing as nowadays its quite easy to do it, I might as well make them. Hopefully it'll get some people to pick up and play a guitar!
Cheers, Bill.
ive been playing for years. Pretty easy actually. I never knew! I wish the internet was around when I was 17 and not 50!
Lol... yeah, you and me both, but then back when we actually had to pay attention and commit things to brain storage was a tad more fun and sociable than watching endless youtube videos by yourself , I don't regret that time at all, but still, cant beat the net for finding free stuff you want to play instantly, beats buying a 101 song book that has 4 songs in it you'd like to learn! (Of course you had to play the ones you didnt like just to get your moneys worth! :0) )
Lol. Look forward, not backward.
Wonderful Lesson. I will be looking at your other ones. Thank You.
Fantastic lesson, as always! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these!
+Dan Butler Cheers again Dan, I think you are getting close to the prize for most comments on my channel! Much appreciated, thanks again.
Thank you so much the format helped a lot :)
Have a great day
Outstanding!
Nicely done man! I loved it
Wow, you can't be more clear ! You got a real good way to show us how to play this song. Keep up the good work ! Anna
Thanks, wish I had the time to make more of the videos... like another hundred or so!!
Thanks so much Bill, great teaching!!
Thank you!
Well done job.
I like how you display both the picking and the chords at same time.
Appreciation from Canada.
+Pat TheHombre Thanks, I'm still working on the video format, trying to get as much info on the screen as possible to help people learn, got to try and find that spot where it dosent look cheesy!
Thanks for the comment!
Very good... Thanks for that Bill , nice one!

Très bien fait. Bravo!
very good man...!
Excelent!!!!!!thanks
Wonderful.
Thank you!
This song is just awesome. Thanks so much for the videos. We have very similar voice, strumming patterns. I always wanted to learn Fire and rain but could not find the right instruction to fit my taste. Now I have added this great song to my list as well. Thanks so much again.
I take it you saw my fire and rain video as well as this one then! Good to hear they are helping you out. Do you have anything recorded yourself?
@@Billsounds Not yet. Working on it . I want a good USB mic and track recording program first. I am 55 years old, and started playing guitar when I was 10. But it takes a lot more than once or twice a year to even maintain. Wish I had u tube when I was young.
You are younger than me so don't let that stop you! There's plenty of free multitrack recorders out there for computers, assuming you have one and not using a phone. Also the little Zoom hardware multitrackers are pretty decent if you fancy going that way, I was really impressed with the built in mic on that too. Obviously for editing purposes, you'd be way better off with a computer set up though. Still have to set mine back up after 3 years disassembled - the joys of moving house! Good luck out there.
@@Billsounds Thanks. Where do you call home? My self. I live in Sheridan Wyoming USA I am a cattle rancher/farmer, also have a welding and machine shop.
I'm in Los Angeles, though not from here originally, obviously! Carpenter by trade, lots of other things unofficially 😁
Great lesson thanks from morocco
nice job. And you actually sing it tolerably well, which is unusual in tutorials in my experience, at least from my perspective.
Thanks, but I don't really think I'm much of a singer myself! Gotta do it so people can follow along. Know what you mean about some other vids though... that's why I started doing them! :0)
Bill - if you’re still out there make more videos ❤❤❤❤❤

the best
This is the best sing and strum version I've seen. Does anyone have the intro tab?
Tab is great, to a point, but you can also ear/improvise. There are so many ways to play a piece and have it still sound good. Build up your confidence and let your ears guide you. You can even embellish here and there as long as you're in rhythm and it sounds right. Tab is like training wheels. Helps you get moving at first, but you'll find soon that you've got your own musical balance. Also, the variable speed function is pure gold. I use it a lot. Play on, bro!
Oh yeah-I used this vid for the intro, up to the F# chord then hooked it onto Bill's lesson. Best of both worlds. At the end of the intro I like to add, on the high E and B string, since you're on D anyway, the little three note riff G-3rd fret high E string (moon) F#-2nd fret high E (sha-) D-3rd fret B string (dow). Just practice fun. Might or might not fit when playing the whole piece, but it's a cool little riff.

But don't try and post any kind of embellishment on you tube videos, cos the purists will have a field day. Trust me on this!
Merci pour la belle intro -)
More Please !!

Pretty nice uncle billy
It's a great channel! But the author hasn't posted anything in 8 years. I hope he's doing well...
Thankyou ! At last a tutorial without some guy talking over the chords and sounds.😖making it impossible to follow, or reproduce.
Ushoud put the guitar illustration the same way how the guitar strings are horizontal thank u
Just turn the illustration cross way
The reason they are vertical is to keep them the same as a standard chord sheet on any piece of guitar music. Learn to read them like this and you won't have any problems reading stuff out a book or the likes, they are all oriented this way.
Dude looks like Rob halford
