Cody is in the stratosphere because the WWE machine is behind him, not because he's that talented. He's been a world champion in other promotions, and virtually nobody cared. I wouldn't find it far fetched to believe that WWE had to debut Jacob Fatu sooner than expected and put Cody back within the orbit of The Bloodline story because his title run has been severely underwhelming. First the first time in 4 yrs, SD was back to minus 2 mil viewers.

Do AEW wrestlers and their fanbase really think there's a 'war' with WWE? That's laughable. Why don't they just concentrate on their own backyard and produce quality shows without worrying about what other companies are doing or saying? Tony Khan encourages his roster to take shots because he thinks it will grab their attention but it does the complete opposite and makes them look foolish. Bischoff and WCW could take legit shots because they had actual stars on their roster at that time Hogan, Sting, Nash, Savage, Hall, DDP, Goldberg. AEW personnel have no right to take shots at anyone considering their dwindling fanbase and erratic booking. Absolute delusion company.

It was "edgy" when they first started doing it and even now, once in a while it can still be funny but it's so often that it's just an eye roll now. It's lame. To be fair, sometimes it's funny but 9 times out of 10 it's just sad.
THey think there is a "war" because Tony, Meltzer, and places like AEWCulture want there to be a war. They really think they are the second coming of WCW and will destroy the evil FED at all costs. Instead of trying to be the alternative to the WWE they can be and learning to co-exist.

Sounds like either WhatCulture is trying to stir up some drama, or ratings for AEW are down so they need to mention something about WWE to boost ratings. Just look at the comments. I am not the only one who thinks so.
I like AEW and WWE, but anyone can see that AEW is failing and in massive debt. It will fizzle out eventually. If not, then it will be a small time company that tries to buy talent with big checks. ECW was the same way and look where they are. A memory. It is a good memory, but AEW will fall like ECW and WCW. Maybe not when Vince was running things, but this new WWE is nearly untouchable.
I have a feeling that when WWE moves to Netflix, they will not be tied down by cables providers and time slots and will be able to create a possible 3rd main show, keeping NXT for development, and 3 main shows all 2 hrs a piece. That will allow WWE to absorb AEW and not be overwhelmed with talent that they have no time to push. They would also be able to do cross brands a lot more too, which will allow for even more stories.

Jericho isn't really wrong. When Punk went there, he gave us the same "i'm here for the young guys" rhetoric and managed to make him being there about himself when he ranted at The Elite. Vince Russo said the same thing at BATB 2000, and within a few months' time, he made himself the main character of the show and put the world title on himself. The guys who have to tell everybody that they're around for the young guys are usually egocentric and extremely selfish.
