    After recently getting the opportunity to ride the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and being genuinely impressed with it, I decided to take a spin on a friend's Royal Enfield Classic 350 which was recently fitted with new CEAT GRIPP XL tyres..the same ones that are fitted on my brother's Royal Enfield Himalayan; which I've covered quite a few km on. I decided to put together a video on what you should look out for, to decide whether a tyre change is necessary and a few tips to understand which tyres would be best suited for your motorcycle. The Classic 350 front tyre size is 90/90-19 and the rear tyre size is 110/90-18. While it would be possible to use tubeless tyres with the Classic 350 if you use a solution like Outex, the tyres installed on this motorcycle have tubes.

    Hey Oggy, I ride a cbr 250 and am looking to change my tyres.
    I wanted to put Michelin pilot street radial but it's not available due to corona and for the Apollo Alpha H1, they don't come in cbr tyre size (140/70-17 rear and 110/70-17 front)
    One of the dealers suggested Maxxis Extramaxx tyre but I don't know much about the tyre and there are not many reviews also.
    If you have any idea about the tyre, please let me know how is it.
    Thanks.

    I plan to upgrade my tyres on my D250. Can you pls let me know if I can uprgrade to a 150/60 rear? Will it affect the performance to a great extent or should I opt for a 140 section rear?

    • @OggyF
      @OggyF  Před 3 lety +1

      A wider tyre will have a slightly negative impact on how flickable your motorcycle is. I don't think a 150 would have a significant impact to the performance. Stock size is best but if you want to make the rear look bulky, a 150 would help achieve that. I think you could go wider than that too (swingarm should be able to accommodate)

      @OggyF  Před 3 lety +1

      The wear indicator on the tyre is the right way to judge is the tyre is done. Otherwise if you've experienced a lot of punctures or the middle of the tyre is flattened, then that's another time to consider a change. Kms really don't matter as much because the road surfaces could cause different levels of wear and your riding style matters too.
