I have read some of what Brian Davies wrote about warfare in eastern europe from year 1500 and he describes a quite interesting change from horse archer armies to more western inspired ones in russian (or muscovite army, but I would like to know more about tactics and warfare early. Until I found academic sources, Field of Glory I have.

"Best Equipped Cavalry, more like Best Equipped Ass" is the phrase I use the most when fighting as the Rus or Ottomans in this game.
I like them... but they are certainly better in earlier time periods.
