I had a similar experiencer in my former yeshivish marriage. I got divorced for the same reason and I am glad I got out of it. I went back to my modern orthodox life, and it was the best thing for me and my child. I see from this movie nothing has changed from now and when i divorced over 20 years ago.

Well Yiddish is linguistically Hebrew and German combined with Slavic influences. There’s no such thing as a singular German or Hebrew accent either.
Possibly none of the actors were native speakers of Yiddish. There's an interesting featurette on CZcams about making the movie.
