The best way to deal with large gaps is to fire your fitter.
That's true
Is that what they did to you
So, it took you a year to come up with that zinger? You must be a fitter.🤣@@milekh6681
Fire him? But I am him!
😂😂😂😂
You can weld large gaps by using les heat and welding in a u shape. Also "Tip 2" could be done continuously and also using a "U" shape going from one side to the other with a pause at the top of each side of the U. Amps need to be set correctly.
Weld is stronger without the stop start welding.
The U shape is what my supervisor told me in the Navy long ago. Thanks.
@@josephgriffin2388you and @madpete can probably appreciate this. He's a practitioner of "Morse Code" welding. Listen to all those dots and dashes
That's the way I do it
A picture is worth a thousand words. Thank you.
First, I've been a welder for 30+ years and this gets me riled up., Step one, work on your fabrication skills. Step two, learn how to weld. Not a single weld on this video has any structural integrity. You can't just throw down a series of tacs and expect the "weld" to hold. Nowhere near enough heat to properly penetrate the base metal. This is just a click bait video. Now, let's hear the keyboard welders knock my assessment.
I agree. Watching the stick welding using a tig welding technique and seeing all the bubbling porosity in that weld was wrong. Don’t use this technique!
OK ....Knock knock....But your spot on !!! I would have filled that with on pass....But I'm a JIW Ironworker so criticizing wouldn't be fair, these guy's a learning. And that's a small gap to begin with. Measure twice cut once....They need to work on fit up
Grow up sometimes this is what you have to do as long as it isn’t gasoline pipe or something like that it’s ok
@@coffeemaninsanity8596 Really? This is ok? I'm afraid it's not ok. What if some bonehead, like for instance, you, watches this and copies what this guy did on, say, a trailer or hitch assembly or anything at all that has any kind of force applied to it? Shit flies apart at 65 mph and people get hurt or killed. Grow up? Son, I'm way grown and retiring in 13 months. I want to make it to enjoy my retirement, not be killed because some moron got a bunch of clicks on his youtube video and another moron followed his moronic advice.
reducing criticism is much better to learn than your weld techniques bro🙃
Muy buen video. La musiquita de la primera parte, insoportable.
God willing, you have tricks to deal with iron problems and solve them. You will make me crazy with your high skill
Mình ĐK kênh CZcams cho bạn rồi
You are such a creative welder 👍
Excelente gracias
Parabéns
Boas dicas
For straight line gaps the second solution is the best approach but not all gaps are in a straight line so the first approach is very appropriate.
Good job my friend.., 👏👍

Mantap kak bisa dibagi ilmunya nih
You are more than amazing ❤
Nice Music mon. Real nice

tk kemas lagi cara menganyam guys.. betul sudah caranya .. anyaman tk kemass 🥰🥰
That’s exactly what I do, add steel when the gap is to big.
Master welders 👍
wow , beautful work .
🙏🙏🙏
Good!
Good job brother! Sucessos!
thank you for inspiring me.. i also have the same channel
Sangat bermanfaat buat saya yg baru belajar.
Thanks for the tutorial
Yes. It sure looks like a proper fit up would be easy enough to accomplish. However, there are times when a repair in the field gets the equipment back to the shop where it can be properly fixed.
Good job man
🙏🙏🙏
thankyou for showing me im not the only one that half asses things, but i wouldnt call these tips
What a idea ❤❤❤
Greetings, thank you for your training and good solutions. In this case, the welding seam between 2 workpieces is too open, your first solution is correct, and this defect should be fixed by edging, because in the industry, In such cases, the welder is not allowed to use rebar or wire, etc., even if the welder has a lot of skill, and because after welding, all kinds of defects will appear in our weld, or the wire or belt may have a metal that is not the same as the piece. Work and electrode
keep going bro believe in your capabilities and ability😉👌
🙏🙏🙏
Wow!!!!!!
Woooow Amazing
Tip 2 good
The steel looks like it comes from the Titanic 🤗

❤okey
good !
Should’ve videoed through a dark lense
bạn ơi hướng dẫn hàn sao mà mài liền không thiếu ok.
¡ Yaaaaaaahooooooooo......!
What is the second rod you're holding? Sorry I've just started learning..
🙏🙏🙏
Esa varilla es otro electrodo??
Tengo esa duda ase mucho.
Decrease the brightness in your device for safety.
xd POR ESO VEO LA pc cON CASCO DE SOLDAR :V

Swadee. I'm new to welding. Krob kun mark

Good .ok
Mantabbbb..👍👍👍
Maybe give some video tips on proper fabrication instead of welding "tips"? But for real, us amateur garage welders use the "fill the gap" technique regularly, and it makes us feel like we are good welders.
this must be a back yard wanna be welder and was never taught the science of welding
I have to go slice some potatoes now. I have to relieve the redness and scratchiness in my eyes from the 5+ minutes of arc flash that I endured

nice
boss sa step two ano yon parehas rod?
Hay quá
It calls buttering, we need more WPS to do this method, when we met in thick material we also need to clean and make it like smooth.
👌👌👌
I have some tips 1 clean the rust off your steel first, 2nd a good fitter doesn't leave gaps, 3rd you have porosity use 3/32 7018 rod ,don't like wanbe Welders.
Everyone has to learn at sometime but they shouldn’t be making videos about how to do it until they do.
That was a small gap I could have filled that in one pass with 3/32 7018....Then again I'm a union Ironworker, I wouldn't have the Gap to begin with
молодец

❤️❤️👍👍
Gotta love that Mexican heliarc 😂😂
You know. Watching it on CZcams looks very easy!
But if you should try it yourself it won’t be this easy
THESE HOW TO WELD VIDEOS WOULD BE FAR BETTER WITH A CAMERA DARKEMED LENSE.
Pakai holo 0.7 bisa bro....
👍👍👍👍
Its not enough heat, try to burn the welding rod in complete not by small dots.
Most of the time they just do the small dots to bridge the gap, then after they do a hot pass to burn it all in but your right just doing the dots alone isn’t enough
ึ75-80 amp.
Woa
A real welder would either bridge it or keep your heat on the thick side and wash it over to the thin. Most importantly someone should learn to cut square or read a tape and avoid this altogether
Luckily for me I'm not one of those so I can use this technique 🥀
Judging by the uniform gap all the way across, and depending on the actual use for that box section, I'd have cut a piece of 5mm thick plate and slid it straight in giving it a lot more structure, reducing the chance of slag inclusion/ porosity in those welds, but then that's all down to skill level and what the work piece is being used for.
But also fully agree with your method
It's a solid technique if your unable /do not have the skills etc or materials in hand to dial down to material thickness. That tube looks relatively thin in contrast to the rod.
Same thing as doubling rods in TIG or going higher feedrate/lower voltage for mig. Or a spot timer fill.
An ingenuitive mind makes it work, and it looks solid
@@davidwilliams4250 it is a solid technique if lacking experience. Not saying it won’t work, but will definitely not be as strong.
I agree on the bridging
