Ep. 07 - Mauthen, Austria to Arraba, Italy

Big riding day, high in the Alps. Specifically, the Italian Dolomites. This is the one with us riding down a steep curvy golf-cart (pretty much) path from the top of a ski area. Lunch at a high alpine lake. Don't miss the aerials of Arraba at the end.

It's Cortina d'Ampezzo. And those food paths you spoke of were probably mulaterias (pathway for cows to walk to the high pasture in summer and descend in fall). They are now paved and work as roads. There is much history there that preceded the automobile.

Love the videos, David! What a trip! I am not quite sure if Fred ever rode a Goldwing...I mean, neither did I, but I've seen what these Bikes can do. And, even though I love my 1250GSA, "light" isn't really a word that I would use to describe a GS 😂

Hey Florian, I guess it's a matter of perspective. The Goldwing is 900 lbs wet while the 1250GS is about 550 lbs. Looked at in a different way, Its like I've been schlepping a 350 lb passenger for the last 11 years and I just kicked him off.
