    Merci.
    Je pense qu'il manque un capteur de fin de course pour indiquer que la porte est bien fermée.

    “It looks like a bomb”
    Later on in video “I got some Reed switches”.
    Lmao

      I recently moved and left my “bombs”. I wonder what the new homeowners thought of them

      I grew up in Ireland, the bit that had lots of explosions going off. Our “shop” teacher used to say avoid using Reed switches in projects at school as they were tightly regulated. Butcher curing salt also tightly controlled.

    Can I recommend you reverse the way the reed switch registered. For security, it should only register closed in the FULLY closed position. I did this by putting the magnet on the chain and the switch on the motor housing where they would meet when closed fully.

      I'm actually going to test an idea with two reed switches. One at the top and one at the bottom. To know when it's fully open and when it's fully closed

      i was thinking the same, best to know that is full closed then open.

    Great video, im looking to hookup a thermostat to my garage door so it will open if garage reaches a certain temp and close when it goes below the certain temp. Do you know how I can program, or thermostat I can buy to make this work.

    Are you able to share code and schematic diagram.

    This is great!.. I had something similar.. but much simpler.. Love all the bells and whistles and the d1mini in the car.. great idea! Did you try using your phone as the wifi trigger rather than the d1Mini?

    Great video! Hoping I will see the use of Home Assistant for the automation. 😄
    Btw, just a thought- what if you used your phone connecting to home wifi as the trigger to open the garage door? Just to save some costs.

      That could work, but I live with my girlfriend and often we ride in the same car. But during the week, we take our own cars. And so I would be annoyed if I was driving her car and then my garage door opened.

      @@NickRains Ah yes. then your solution would definitely be required.
      On a separate note, what camera are you using for filming? Looks great. I have been looking to upgrade my existing setup.

    Practically better than my "Commander Ultimate MJ3800MYQ" WiFi controlled direct drive garage door opener. And a fair bit cheaper.

    Great video and really sweet automation! I really like the HA integration. How has the system worked since you've implemented it? Do ever have issues with the D1 mini not connecting to your wifi when you pull into the driveway? Looking forward to your next video!

    Some great automations! That's an enticing video! Looking forward to the detailed video as I love the WiFi microcontrollers. I usually flash tasmota onto them. What firmware do you use or do you custom program them?

      I used esp home. I have a step by step guide and video coming soon.

    I would do this but it’s way to complicated for me :(
    What I would do that is different is that I would just get one of those tapping bots that are smart and have it push down on our garage door remote and have it connected to a Alexa button and then we can open and close the door with the Alexa app but I guess most garage door openers have the remote on the wall and wired but and easy fix is just use the tapping bot on the switch and have one of those industrial boxes on it with some cables to make it look cool or add a button to open and close it from the app :)

    • @NickRains
      @NickRains  Před 3 lety +1

      I like your idea, but how do you make it automatically open and close for you?

    • @WM22
      @WM22 Před 3 lety

      @@NickRains at the moment it’s a remote but our remote you have to push down on it for a second and it opens pauses and closes unless you wait for it to open or close again so for me it would be $25 easy money to have it automated but it would probably be cheaper doing it myself but I would need to pay more for the equipment instead of just the switchBot so soon enough I would surely change it because it’s around a 10 year old house I think as I don’t own the house just my parents but my guess is that it’s around 10 years old or 15 because there was other people living in it before we came
      But the garage door is great it even has a built in light for when you come in and close it because the lights we have are old fashioned filament bulbs and they take awhile to turn on and I’m thing of replacing them but I’m still going to upgrade the system for sure!
