Atheist Faces Prejudices to Build Community for Non-Believers in Kenya

  • Meet Harrison Mumia, the president of Atheists in Kenya Society. He hopes to create a platform for non-religious people in a country where a majority of the population has a religious upbringing.
“Let people believe what they want to believe, let your personal opinion be yours,” says Mumia.
But his drive to build an atheist community hasn't been easy as non-believers in the country face prejudice, fear and discrimination. While they hold the government to account on issues of morality, and support gay rights, the main objective is simple: Promote the acceptance of atheists in Kenya. "We want Kenyans to accept that we are part of them. And we are normal," he says.

believer: believe or burn in hell
14 year old agonistic atheist self:
well... I like how you are shoving your beliefs down my throat not to mention your insecurities are showing. Nevertheless if you are will to start an argument like that so be it.
To start of, I will give you a story- *please bare with me*
there was once an innocent girl. Born to a Christian family in a country that has Christianity as major religion, not to mention this religion was taught in their schools. So the girl grew and while growing she was told about an invisible creator; truly magnificent. This godly being sitting on a throne up the skies and he has a list of things that he wants you to obey. If you disobey he will take you to a place where you will burn, suffer, scream and burn a little more till the end of time..... BUT HE LOVES YOU. Her naïve self did not think much about it. She truly believed and was baptized at 12 years old . She prayed and worshipped this god .
BUT ALAS! did common critical thinking break here faith or was this god just testing her ?
suddenly, a pandemic broke. thousands dead and millions infected and affected. Preachers far and wide said that this god was punishing us for being homosexual and 'lacking' morality.
Schools closed and home she went. Her parents were quite unavailable due to them belonging to the working class and in desperate urge to feed the family, the bad economy only adding more weights around their ankles. Yes, she had the devices allowing her to communicate with here friends Not to mention she didn't lack in the department of friendships. But that didn't satisfy her ever rambling mind.
Due to the lack of physical stimuli, she gave in to mental stimulation.
Of course she could flirt with the game puzzles and try to solve complex riddles if her intelligence was that profound. Unfortunately, it wasn't: so imagination was the only thing left.
So there she was, rocking her legs back and forth thinking about alien life, space, the multiple galaxies and so on
Imagination turned into wonder, wonder turned into curiosity, curiosity turned into deep thoughts and these thoughts turned into questions about reality we believe we live in.
And the extension of quarantine didn't help one bit. Waking up everyday and pondering your head about life's deepest questions. The bible didn't relieve her killing thirst for knowledge and absolute truth. The existence of this god began to sound more like a fairy-tale. she involved herself in spiritual seeking and it only feed her curiosity wolf. It's true curiosity killed the cat but lucky her she wasn't one
why did four days pass until he made the sun?
why did he make a rule to not kill but literally caused a mass genocide by drowning people? Did he really make them only to kill them in such a gruesome way?
if god is truly omniscient - he is not affected by time, space and matter. To put it in my own words; the one who made the computer isn't in it. thus god contradicts himself. If he is of such being as stated, it means that before he even started his creation, he knew that a talking snake would make a woman eat an apple from a tree he should have known not to to plant there.
If you are suffering from a deadly sickness and you pray to god to heal you but you die then what was the use of praying in the first place? he already knew you were going to die so why didn't he just tell you to stop and start planning your funeral?
is completely okay with people having slaves and treating their daughters like sex property, not even mentioning about the gender inequality but its an abomination to be attracted to the same sex?
How sure are you that if you believe in god you will go heaven even though there other religions with with other gods? won't they go to heaven too ?
All these she asked but the answers weren't from some white-washed book so she researched. She found out that there were many like her. She thought if it takes a her whole life searching for the truth then so be it. The utter curiosity she had was all she needed. The more she searched the more god sounded like a fictional character. She's looked for someone like minded who would strike a deep reality-questioning conversation her way but unfortunately she is still looking
But her parents don't know, there still caught up in the delusion and she wishes all to see from her point of view
Nothing bad happened to make her question life, it all sparked from imagination into critical reason.
at 14 years old, she isn't afraid of what is beyond death but the fear that she might leave this world without finding true knowledge.
so she became an agonistic atheist not because she wants to but because its clear as day that such a stupid god made by man's imagination to fill in the huge gaps of the unknown nature probably doesn't exist.
    sound familiar?
lets get back to your statement , i have a simple explanation; most do not worship god because some dude was nailed to a piece of wood to save them, but because they fear that if they do not worship him they would burn in hell. I think that's the reason. i believe a true god shouldn't judge people by how many times they attend service but their morality. Anyone can be a believer but lack any sort of empathy or sense of morality, should they also go to heaven?
don’t you see: you will live your whole life believing in somebody else’s beliefs. believing in what you where told to believe. you will teach your children the same, they will teach their children the same and the cycle continues. Have you ever thought we might be brain washed, that we might be all wrong. In this our simulated life of pathetic reality that we are made to believe. shouldn’t we find that weird? we don’t know the unknown because we were made not to know. Ignorance is bliss isn't it?

@Its . xdonnie hi, thanks for replying. Anyway, I'm glad to see we don't differ that much in thought. I truly agree with respecting peoples beliefs. I guess it gives people a sense of relief and safety that they would go somewhere nice once they die. ( I apologize in advance if I skip from point to point; I just have a lot to say) I believe that I am more than a chunk of meat floating on a floating rock, i simply believe in reincarnation. But that doesn't make me special in any way or form
I'm somewhat spiritual. Keep in mind that spirituality and religion differ.
On the other hand, I think Jesus exist but not as a demigod as the Christian perceive him to be.
firstly because he is white washed, they seriously believe a dude from middle-east Asia has brown hair, light skin and blue eyes. even someone with enough neutrons in their brain can see through that. history is very whitewashed due to the patriarchy
Secondly, Jesus isn't his true name if you researched a tad bit. he wasn't nailed to a plank of wood to save anyone from anything but because he thought outside the box and was against the government at his time.
thirdly, I see him only as a philosopher of free thought and basic morality. he may or may not have existed I don't know
On the part about aliens i have some really good stuff to share with you. ALIENS HAVE DIFFERENT RACES. I've being on this topic for a while now and its quite interesting.
some ET races i know of are the annunaki, reptilians, they greys, andromedans, arcturians, avians, felines and many more. if you need any research materials i can help
and also planets like sirius B and nibiru.
there is so much about these but the media is blocking it. Nasa also brushes it of as conspirancy theories.
      i assure you its not
many might say that if there where aliens they would have contacted us.all i can say is that they have. the felines contacted the ancient Egyptians that why they really loved cats and their gods had cat faces
All i can say about the bible is:
The men who put the Bible together did some hefty cherry picking of their own. To begin with they left 45 books out of the Bible and a fair number of scrolls written by Jesus himself. It seems that a great deal of the information they just took upon themselves to leave out was information concerning the truth that God is within man and in all things. They hid from humanity the truth that males and females were equal. They themselves persecuted Mary Magdalene and made of her a lowly “whore’. In truth she was the wife of Jesus and they had children as men and women usually did. There was no ‘immaculate conception for Jesus either. Jesus was actually born into a wealthy family. Mary was in fact one of his most powerful Apostles. She and Jesus did much alchemical work together. They however left this passage in the Bible: John 14:20 “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. When I am raised to life again, you will know that”, On that day is referring to the Awakening of Mankind to the truth. The second coming of Jesus is THROUGH MAN. Man will know God as his true self when he is awakened. Jesus was trying to teach humans about the Universal, Divine Christ knowledge that lived within. Jesus was the name of the man who attempted to teach. He is equal to man. Light has all names that know truth.
When the authors of the book finally had a product to suit their own agendas they released the “Word of God” to the public. Jesus instructed his followers to understand his words metaphorically. “I speak in parables” Finally he told his Apostles: “They do not understand what I am saying, They are not ready to know the truth” They who taught from this book produce a book of LITERAL stories in which God murdered close to 3 million people. Just FYI, Satan’s count was 10. Jesus also truly did teach about non judgment. He never advocated “Righteous judgment” NO judgment meant none. He was talking about discernment of truth. His meaning of Righteous Judgment was clear discernment of truth, not judgment of man. But how were the masses to know? For again, his word was betrayed by a Patriarchy who had a goal of limiting and controlling the human race, not imparting their own magnificent truth.
There is more but I will stop here. So as far as cherry picking goes, the whole book is cherry picked. So called followers who use certain passages to justify their judgment of their fellowman are simply furthering the heart-breaking desecration of the word of God by an ignorant human species. No true God, purveyor of Divine Love would stoop to most of the stories in the bible. No true God would advocate going to war, or agree to the torture of burning human beings alive, dragging them behind horses, or beheadings. No, these atrocities came precisely from human Ego. I am so sorry that what the authors were truly asking the followers of Jesus Christ was to “Buy-Bull”, and let the precious writings of truth lay in stillness under the Vatican.
i advice the book of Enoch. it was removed from the bible. this man called Enoch was abducted by aliens and he wrote his experience.
to finish of; i find you to be quite interesting and would like to know you better. you can message me on quora www.quora.com ( I've chose this so that you can check my profile and know more about me) maybe you can tell me your age or something

Your religion is only as a result of who raised you and where you were born. if you were born in Middle east you would be here defending the quran. So there's nothing divine about your book. Introduce any concepts to children's fertile minds and they will believe them into adulthood. Then cognitive dissonace makes you defend these ideologies regardless of any contradictions. Most science found in the bible is very vague. Good prophecies need to be very precise and detailed, like providing the exact date when it'll occur. Also, people alive in the new testament had access to the old testament and could easily fulfill the prophecies themselves, or just lie about doing them

It's funny how most atheists believe in greek philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle who lived approximately 400 BC but refuse to believe in Jesus who lived approximately 400 years after the philosophers and who has multiple accounts written about him. A man who had such a great impact on the people 2000 years ago to an extent his name is still spoken about to this day. There are only two reasons atheists refuse to believe no matter what they say. 1)They realise that believing would require them to turn from sin which is hard (2)They harden their minds to all the evidences of God there are eg. the Bible( Proven to be the most accurate historical record ever known to mankind)
But Jesus doesn't care about all that, all He wants is you. So make a constant effort to seek the truth because remember. If i believe and i'm wrong then nothing happens but if i don't believe and i'm wrong, it's eternal fire for me. Don't be lazy.

You seem to not understand. There are atheists who believe jesus existed and there are atheists who dont. Whether a man named jesus existed is not hard to believe. What they dont believe is that he died and resurrected and is still alive now and all the other magical things that are said about him. Those things are highly unrealistic. There isnt enough proof of it.
Plato, aristotle and jesus are not the same. If plato and aristotle were said to have supernatural/magical parts to them then the atheists wouldnt believe that part either.

  • @Noone-cn6ow

I did not really get it I mean why would you think atheism is the most rational explanation. I am sorry if you find it offensive but atheism believes their is no God no Ultimate power and isn’t it obvious that nothing can come from nothing like 0+0+0=0. And in my opinion Islam is the only rational religion because like other religions it does not asks for blind faith it gives you reason understanding logic to believe.
Take for example the miracles found in the Quran
    1.Origin of life
"WE HAVE MADE EVERY LIVING THING FROM WATER WILL THEY NOT BELIEVE?" (QURAN 21:30)
Now we know that all living things are made of cells and cells mostly consist of water.
    2 Big bang theory
"HAVE THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED NOT CONSIDERED THAT THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WERE A JOINED ENTITY, AND WE SEPARATED THEM" (Quran 21:30)
As you can see this verse clearly explains the concept of big bang.
    3. Iron
"WE SENT DOWN IRON, WHEREIN IS GREAT MILITARY MIGHT AND BENEFITS" (QURAN 57:25)
Scientists have proved that iron is not from the earth. Billions of years ago earth was struck by meteorites which carried iron from distant stars that exploded.
And there are many other signs facts that can be found.
And many others you can say it was mere hypothesis but if this was the case don't you think at least one mistake could have been proven in the Quran like many other man made scriptures.
I am not asking anyone to accept Islam I am just asking to you to know about this religion..
If you think I am wrong feel free to guide me. 🙂

Behold the power of the Holy *Dopamine* Ghost!
"The second system, known as the mesolimbic system, has its cell bodies in the ventral tegmental area, which is medial to the substantia nigra. It projects to several parts of the limbic system, including the nucleus accumbens and ventral portions of the striatum, amygdala, and hippocampus, as well as prefrontal cortex. *This system has been linked to reward-related behavior (Berridge and Kringelbach, 2015). Dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens increase in response to both natural reinforcers (such as food, drink, and sex) and drugs of abuse (such as amphetamine and cocaine). Additionally, in humans, activity in this region increases in response to more abstract rewards, such as money.* "
Marie T. Banich/Rebecca J. Compton, Cognitive Neuroscience, Section: Subsystems, pp. 2/3
"Dopamine, in fact, is critical in association learning and the reward system of the brain that Skinner discovered through his process of operant conditioning, whereby any behavior that is reinforced tends to be repeated. *A reinforcement is, by definition, something that is rewarding to the organism; that is to say, it makes the brain direct the body to repeat the behavior in order to get another positive reward.* ..The connection between dopamine and belief was established by experiments conducted by Peter Brugger and his colleague Christine Mohr at the University of Bristol in England. *Exploring the neurochemistry of superstition, magical thinking, and belief in the paranormal, Brugger and Mohr found that people with high levels of dopamine are more likely to find significance in coincidences and pick out meaning and patterns where there are none.* "
Michael Shermer, The Believing Brain, Section: 6 The Believing Neuron pp. 8-10/29
"Genetic and behavioral factors influencing religiously motivated behavior appear related to dopamine metabolism and signaling. *Inclination toward religious behavior and motivation has been associated with a polymorphism on the dopamine receptor gene DRD4 (Comings, Gonzales, Saucier, Johnson, & MacMurray, 2000;Sasaki et al., 2013). Acquired disorders of dopamine physiology also show links to religious behaviors.* "
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5478470/
" *Religious and spiritual experiences activate the brain reward circuits in much the same way as love, sex, gambling, drugs and music,* report researchers at the University of Utah School of Medicine."
      unews.utah.edu/this-is-your-brain-on-god/
"Dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline are neurotransmitters that belong to the catecholamine family. Dopamine is produced in the substantia nigra and ventral tegmental regions of the brain, and dopamine alterations are related to schizophrenia (1, 2). Dopaminergic projections are divided into the nigrostriatal, mesolimbic, and mesocortical systems. Impairments in the dopamine system result from dopamine dysfunctions in the substantia nigra, ventral tegmental region, striatum, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus (3-5). *The “original dopamine hypothesis” states that hyperactive dopamine transmission results in schizophrenic symptoms.* "
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4032934/
"Dopamine In schizophrenia (SCZ), there is evidence that *very high levels of dopamine in the limbic system play a major role in emergence of hallucinations and delusions.* Antipsychotic medications, which block central dopamine activity, alleviate the hallucinations of psychosis. Drugs with strong dopaminergic effect, such as L-dopa, methylphenidate, bromocriptine, pramipexole and piribedil, may induce hallucinations. D-amphetamine, a direct dopamine agonist, may also induce psychosis and hallucinations."
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2996210/
"Here, we show that administration of a drug that enhances dopaminergic function (dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine; L-DOPA) increases an optimism bias. *This effect is due to L-DOPA impairing the ability to update belief in response to undesirable information about the future.* "
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3424419/
"Tibetan mystics have long practiced a method to create sentient beings (Tulpas) from the power of concentrated thought."
Note: These (Tulpas) are not sentient beings, but a manifestation of the subconscious mind through neural plasticity via neurochemical imbalancing inducing meditation. In other words it's having a dream state while awake, and interacting with a character that's made up of one's own preformed thoughts (building blocks of ideas/concepts that are below conscious awareness) which gives the illusion of sentience. In simpler words *it's self induced schizophrenia due to stresses (psychological/physical/environmental) where neurochemical traffic gets rerouted causing hallucinations to any of the five senses, also including involuntary movement, and distorted speech* (glossolalia).
      www.google.com/amp/s/www.vice.com/amp/en_ca/article/exmqzz/tulpamancy-internet-subculture-892
*Imagine the euphoria experienced by the average person for believing they won a million dollars on a scratch off ticket (it could be a joke ticket yet as long as they believe). Now imagine someone having the same sensations, but being convinced it's a paranormal contact for believing John **3:16**.* The ticket can be confirmed soon enough as reality, or not. But the other results in confirmation, and cognitive biases that continues for an expected reward after physical death.
We evolved to seek pleasure (eating/reproduction), and avoid getting killed (tiger in the grass/competing neighbor/harsh enviroment). With our increased cognitive abilities we made up other reasons for pleasure, and survival beyond basic necessity. On a neurological level chemical addiction (drugs/alcohol) and thought addiction (gambling/believing outlandish conspiracy theories) are closely related. *The Dopamine Reward System over time reinforces neurochemical pathways in order to form habits to repeat behaviors, and or thoughts.* The often cited testimony of getting off an addiction thanks to a God is just a placebo replacement due to the power of the mind (an AA participant I heard of chose to worship the radiator in his room instead of an higher power, and became sober).
Ancient people did not know the neurosciences, and some thought that joy came from the divine on high (no pun intended). The hellenized Jew Philo of Alexandria (a contemporary of Paul the apostle) believed that *God's firstborn son an anointed archangel the Divine Word (Logos)/Right Reason/Wisdom (a character derived from OT scripture, and hellenistic philosophy) poured down spiritual nourishment as a reward for righteous thoughts about God* .
ON DREAMS, THAT THEY ARE GOD-SENT Book 2
"XXXVII ...And *who can pour over the happy soul which proffers its own reason as the most sacred cup, the holy goblets of true joy, except the cup-bearer of God, the master of the feast, the Word* ?"
      ALLEGORICAL INTERPRETATION, III
"LX ... *the soul very often, when it is delighted, is yet unable to explain what it is that has delighted it; but it is taught by the hierophant and prophet Moses, who tells it, “This is the bread, the food which God has given for the Soul, (Exo. **16:15**)” explaining that God has brought it, his own Word and his own Reason; for this bread which he has given us to eat is this Word of his* ."

"Of all this, and other detail of Jesus’ life, miraculous or mundane, there is not a single secular, contemporary, eyewitness account. Perhaps this is why Robert Funk, noted Biblical scholar and co-founder of the Jesus Seminar, admitted the following:
'As an historian, I do not know for certain that Jesus really existed, that he is anything more than the figment of some overactive imaginations… In my view, there is nothing about Jesus of Nazareth that we can know beyond any possible doubt. In the mortal life we have there are only probabilities. And the Jesus that scholars have isolated in the ancient gospels, gospels that are bloated with the will to believe, may turn out to be only another image that merely reflects our deepest longings.'
While issues with the gospels are certainly not enough to rule out the possibility that there was a historical Jesus behind the gospel story, it also cannot be said with certainty that there must have been one. The lack of primary sources and the problems with the Gospel stories alone, would seemingly justify having some doubt."

Keep in mind (other than the later Gospels showing signs of myth making) *Paul is adamant that his Gospel is not from humans, but from scripture, and visions/dreams (Gal. **1:11**-12, Rom. 15:4, 1 Cor. 15:3-8). A secret hidden through the ages now revealed (Rom. **16:25**-26, 1 Cor. 2:6-7). Also Paul says his apostleship is by the same means as the founding Pillars* (Gal. 2:6-8).
Now look closely at Galatians 4:4b "God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,"
Just stop and think how odd this is. Paul's audience would know that Jesus was born as a Jew, but what if it's a mystical micro creedal statement? Paul has so much in lacking in biographical details for Jesus especially when making theological points, and he uses OT scripture when he does. Also keep in mind a plain reading of this from the Greek is "come (made) of a woman, come (made) under the law".
"In Galatians 4:4, Paul says that God "sent forth his Son, come from a woman, come under the law " (yevoue vov ek yuvaikos, yevoue vov vtto vo uov). The verse was used by the orthodox to oppose the Gnostic claim that Christ came through Mary "as water through a pipe," taking nothing of its conduit into itself; for here the apostle states that Christ was "made from a woman" (so Irenaeus, Adv. Haer. Ill, 22, 1 , and Tertullian, de carne Christi, 20). Irenaeus also uses the text against docetists to show that Christ was actually a man, in that he came from a woman (Adv. Haer. V , 21, 1) . It should strike us as odd that Tertullian never quotes the verse against Marcion, despite his lengthy demonstration that Christ was actually "born." This can scarcely be attributed to oversight, and so is more likely due to the circumstance that the generally received Latin text of the verse does not speak of Christ's birth per se, but of his "having been made" (factum ex muliere)."
Bart Ehrman, The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture, pp. 239
For a celestial/mystical Jesus revealed through OT scripture this woman is Divine Wisdom (Greek Sophia personified feminine wisdom see Prov. 3:13-20, 8:1-36), and Jesus is the Divine Law. *Adam had to be taught, but God made his firstborn son, and chief archangel all knowing "good and evil" as well as to imitate the Father to automatically do what's right through divine feminine wisdom.*
      Baruch 3:37, 4:1 (NRSV)
"37 Afterward she appeared on earth and lived with humankind."
"1 She is the book of the commandments of God, the law that endures forever. All who hold her fast will live, and those who forsake her will die."
      Proverbs 3:18a
"18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her;"
Philo of Alexandria would see his anointed Word fitting precisely with Gal. 4:4b.
      Philo: ON FLIGHT AND FINDING
"XX ...For we say that the high priest (Jos. 20:1-6) is not a man, but *is the Word of God, who has not only no participation in intentional errors, but none even in those which are involuntary* . For Moses says that he cannot be defiled neither in respect of his father, that is, the mind, nor his mother, that is, the external sense; "He shall not go where there is a dead body; he shall not defile himself even for his father or mother." (Lev. 21:11) because, I imagine, he has received imperishable and wholly pure parents, *God being his father, who is also the father of all things, and Wisdom being his mother, by means of whom the universe arrived at creation* ; and also because *he is anointed with oil, by which I mean that the principal part of him is illuminated with a light like the beams of the sun* , so as to be thought worthy to be *clothed with garments. And the most ancient Word of the living God is clothed with the word as with a garment, for it has put on earth, and water, and air, and fire, and the things which proceed from those elements* . ...Nor will he “rend his clothes;” (Lev. 21:10) for *the Word of the living God being the bond of every thing, as has been said before, holds all things together, and binds all the parts, and prevents them from being loosened or separated* ."
So Galatians 4:4b could mean "made of Divine Wisdom, made of God's righteousness" in a purely mystical context?
"XIV...for God has given his own Word a country to inhabit, namely, his own knowledge, as if it were a native of it. *But to the man who is under the pollution of involuntary error he has given a foreign home* ..."
*Adam being kicked out of Paradise*
THE SPECIAL LAWS, I (Image of God 2 Cor. 4:4, Phili. 2:6, agent of creation 1 Cor. 8:6)
"XVI ...Now *the image of God is the Word, by which all the world was made* ...."
ON DREAMS, THAT THEY ARE GOD-SENT (Celestial high priest Heb. 2:17, 4:14, God's Word Heb. 1:3, 11:3, firstborn son Rom. 8:29)
"XXXVII ...For there are, as it seems, two temples belonging to God; one being this world, in which the *high priest is the Divine Word, his own firstborn son* ."

Now compare the historical interpretation through the later Gospels of the Last Supper to a mystical revelation out of OT scripture.
      1 Corinthians 10:1-4, 11:23-26
"1 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3 and *all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock (Num. **20:11**) that followed them, and the rock was Christ.* "
"23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was *betrayed/delivered* up (Note: *The word in Greek has meaning in context.* The former is in context of the later Gospels, but the latter is possible since Paul gives no context, but talks about a sacrifice derived from OT scripture, and visions) took a loaf of bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it (Note: It's in context of the later Gospels that it's presumed to be wine), in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes."
Philo's Divine Word provides a feast of spiritual bread, and water.
      Philo: ON FLIGHT AND FINDING
"XXV *Those also who have inquired what it is that nourishes the soul, for as Moses says, “They knew not what it was,” learnt at last and found that it was the Word of God and the Divine Reason, from which flows all kinds of instinctive and everlasting wisdom. This is the heavenly nourishment which the holy scripture indicates, saying, in the character of the cause of all things, “Behold I rain upon you bread from Heaven;” (Exo. 16:4) for in real truth it is God who showers down heavenly wisdom from above upon all the intellects which are properly disposed for the reception of it, and which are fond of contemplation. But those who have seen and tasted it, are exceedingly delighted with it, and understand indeed what they feel, but do not know what the cause is which has affected them; and on this account they inquire, “What is this which is sweeter than honey and whiter than snow?” And they will be taught by the interpreter of the divine will, that “This is the bread which the Lord has given them to Eat.” (Exo. **16:15**) What then is this bread? Tell us. “This,” says he, “is the Word which the Lord has appointed.” This divine appointment at the same time both illuminates and sweetens the soul, which is endowed with sight, shining upon it with the beams of truth, and sweetening with the sweet virtue of persuasion those who thirst and hunger after excellence* ."
      ALLEGORICAL INTERPRETATION, II
"XXI ... *who brought forth for thee out of the hard rock a fountain of water, who fed thee with manna in the desert, which thy fathers knew Not?* ” (Deut. 8:15-16) ...Moreover, the soul falls in with a scorpion, that is to say, with dispersion in the wilderness; and the thirst, which is that of the passions, seizes on it until *God sends forth upon it the stream of his own accurate Wisdom, and causes the changed soul to drink of unchangeable health; for the abrupt rock is the Wisdom of God, which being both sublime and the first of things he quarried out of his own powers, and of it he gives drink to the souls that love God; and they, when they have drunk, are also filled with the most universal manna; for manna is called something which is the primary genus of every thing. But the most universal of all things is God; and in the second place the Word of God* .
      ALLEGORICAL INTERPRETATION, III
"LXI ... *Therefore, let God enjoin the soul, saying to it that, “Man shall not live by bread alone,” speaking in a figure, “but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God,” (Deut. 8:3) that is to say, he shall be nourished by the whole word of God , and by every portion of it. ...but we must be contented if we are nourished by a portion of it.* "
THAT THE WORSE IS WONT TO ATTACK THE BETTER
"XXXI Now these energies are especially the food of the soul, which is competent to give suck, as the lawgiver says, “Honey out of the rock, and oil out of the solid Rock,” (deut. 32:13) meaning by the solid rock which cannot be cut through, the *wisdom of God* , which is the nurse and foster-mother and educator of those who desire incorruptible food;... *This rock, Moses, in another place, using a synonymous expression, calls manna the most ancient word of God ... These then, as I have said before, are they who ascend up upon the strength of the earth.* "

Spiritual kinship & an angel of God (Gal. 4:5-7, :14, Heb. 1:4)
To Paul we become siblings (Brothers of the Lord) to Jesus in a spiritual family through faith, baptism, and proper behavior. To Philo we may become children to the "Image of God" which is God's firstborn.
      ON THE CONFUSION OF TONGUES
"XI ...In reference to which I admire those who say, “We are all one man’s sons, we are men of Peace,” (Gen. 42:11) because of their well-adapted agreement; since how, I should say, could you, O excellent men, avoid being grieved at war, and delighted in peace, *being the sons of one and the same father, and he not mortal but immortal, the man of God, who being the reason of the everlasting God, is of necessity himself also immortal?* "
"XXVIII ...And even if there be not as yet any one who is worthy to be called a son of God, nevertheless let him labour earnestly to be adorned according to his *first-born word, the eldest of his angels, as the great archangel of many names; for he is called, the authority, and the name of God, and the Word, and man according to God’s image, and he who sees Israel. For which reason I was induced a little while ago to praise the principles of those who said, “We are all one man’s Sons.” (Gen. **42:11**) For even if we are not yet suitable to be called the sons of God, still we may deserve to be called the children of his eternal image, of his most sacred word; for the image of God is his most ancient word* ...."

"XX But while he is taking care of his own flock, all kinds of good things are given all at once to those of the sheep who are obedient, and who do not resist his will; and *in the Psalms we find a song in these words, “The Lord is my shepherd, therefore shall I lack Nothing;” (psa. 23:1) therefore the mind which has had the royal shepherd, the divine word, for its instructor,...* "
      Purification, forgiveness of sins & glorification (1 Cor. 6:11, 2 Cor. 3:18, 4:6)
Philo is getting his ideas from scripture, and not from a Galilean preacher. Why not the first Christians, and Paul? What did Paul's gospel to the Gentiles (Gal. 2:6-9) exactly consist of unedited (if only the original letters surface)?
ON THE LIFE OF MOSES, II
"XXVI Such then are the figurative meanings which he desires to indicate by the *sacred vestments of the high priest;... ...namely the logeum, being also an emblem of that reason which holds together and regulates the universe. For it was indispensable that the man who was consecrated to the Father of the world, should have as a paraclete, his son, the being most perfect in all virtue, to procure forgiveness of sins, and a supply of unlimited blessings;...* "
ON DREAMS, THAT THEY ARE GOD-SENT Book I
"XXXIX ...For when *the sacred word has purified us with the sprinklings prepared beforehand for purification, and when it has adorned us with the select reasonings of true philosophy, and, *having led us to that man who has stood the test, has made us genuine, and conspicuous, and shining,...* "
*Who is "that man who has stood the test", and what test? Is it just a figure of speech for someone purified, and made shining by the Word, or did the Word itself pass a test? It could just as well be the former, but if the latter? Then there's something missing from, or simply overlooked with the extant works of Philo?

The thing is one can find a Jesus/Joshua (Saviour) being crucified in OT scripture keeping in mind the power of the *Holy Dopamine Ghost* to reveal hidden mysteries that are kept in plain sight. See Joshua 10:22-27 where Joshua son of Nun (Saviour son of the Rising/Branching/Sprouting/Perpetual One) crucifies the five senses/members of flesh (Rom. 6:12-23, 7:5, 8:3-13, Gal. 5:24) that leads one to sin (The passions that rule over you like kings which the five books of Moses try to tame), and places them in a tomb. Note Paul quotes scripture in that Jesus was crucified by hanging from a tree thus becoming a curse for us (Gal. 3:13, Deut. 21:23).
See Zechariah 3:1-10, 6:11-13 where Joshua son of Jehozadak (Son of the Righteous God) has tricked Satan who does not recognize him because he is wearing filthy clothes (human flesh). Then God glorifies Joshua by clothing him in festal apparel (spiritual flesh), removes the guilt of the land, gives him a throne, a crown, and given the title Branch/Rising to rule over his Temple. Paul says Satan destroys flesh (1 Cor. 5:5), and the persishable cannot inherit the imperishable (1 Cor. 115:35-56). So the hymnal (Phil. 2:6-11 which is considered the oldest Christian writing, and creedal statement) where Jesus takes on flesh then being found in this disguise is crucified, and raised in glory can be inferred right of OT scripture with help from the HDG. The later Gospel called Mark started out as a symbolic allegory of this perceived OT Jesus character (Word of the Lord, or the mechanism of God's voice; see Gen. 3:22) within an historical backdrop. Then over time, the writing of other Gospels (which expands the myth while pushing theological points of the author's respective community; e.g. Mark's Pauline dropping of Torah Law, while Matthew endorses observence) it was deemed historical, and the original theology stamped out.
