- Today I head to Peter's Fish Market at 120 Seaworld Dr, Main Beach on the Gold Coast, to try their $9.00 fish and chips, I also got some calamari rings for an extra $2, let's see how these fish and chips stack up!

Greg is loving the fish and chips at the moment. I remember the place next to seaworld. Went there many years ago and they said had to wait 2 hours before service , it was packed. It must be legit.

Fins on Finnegan Way at Coomera people always go on about. Also Pop's Pizza at Coomera is such good value with toppings you can customise what you want, half half etc. We get the $20 deal A large with a garlic pizza and 1.25l drink. Not sure if they still do it but hey
Fair rating. Wasn't anything to rave about but always good to have calamari rings that are tender, so I'll give them credit for that.
It's around 1:30pm here stateside in the Pacific Northwest, and I've been on fb so long I've missed lunch.... Now dying for some fish and chips or a big basket of calamari rings lol. Too bad your fish was kind of soft and oily/mushy. I would like larger chips too. On the other hand, that curvy blonde in the background at 1:45 and 2:01 did catch my eye! Thanks for yet another great video sir =)
Hi Greg, me and Julie always choose our own fish from the trays and usually go for the Barramundi. It only comes to a bit more than the general "Fish and Chips" meal. The last time we went it was just perfection. We went on a Sunday which was packed and had to wait 40 mins so weekdays is best.
He's actually doing whatever the shop offers as standard fare, as to have a fair comparison between all the fish and chip joints 😁

I'd go for the Hoki aka Blue Grenadier over Basa any day , Hoki is wild caught ocean fish and Basa is farmed freshwater catfish .

I remember when I was in auz working for a year the best place was Sydney fish market ya pickd ya fish and they cooked it for ya about 5 bucks with chips and a drink mind you was about 15 years ago!!!

My guess is Sutchi fillets from Vietnam and Cambodia. Probably costs a dollar a large fillet frozen from the supermarket. Widely used in Singapore...it's everywhere.

For years I always went for beef or chicken. (Burgers, beef ribs, pizza supreme, rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, General Tso's or Lo Mein.)
I completely forgot about fish. So I've been getting alot of tuna fish subs lately for the past year or more. Really want a good fish and chips.

Try "Scales" on Kennedy drive, Tweed. I hear good things. Another one to consider is "Get Hooked Seafoods" at Tweed as well. Nice place to sit out over the water and eat.

If you ever come down here to Tassie, Maybe Dave's Fish 'n' Chips at Launceston is worth a try. Also try Fish Frenzy at Burnie.

I was there a few weeks ago and got some fresh prawns, I got 5 and cost me $10.60 but they were fresh as and soooooo tasty.

Greg, is that how you typically eat fish and chips? I live in Seattle and it’s universal to eat fish and chips with tartar sauce. I usually add malt vinegar as well.

Greg just letting you know basa is imported from overseas and farmed in filthy water which most of the time has sewerage in it. Ask what it is and if it's Australian buy it and if not forget it. Support Australian fisherman and their families . We have the best seafood in the world I wouldn't be touching any imported rubbish.. 👍👍👍👍👍

Greasy batter means the oil temp was too low. Prob'ly overcrowded the cooker. Set fire to the place, and get their oil back up to temp. That'll learn 'em.
