I have a video idea give all 6 Digimon Adventure 02 Digimon Golden Armor Digivolutions with the Digi-Egg of Destiny + a better Golden Armor Digivolution with the Digi-Egg of Destiny for veemon then GoldVeedramon I have a good name for Hawkmon Golden Armor Digivolution with the Digi-Egg of Destiny and that name is Robinmon base off of Robin Hood
If we went that route, I'd honestly flip it. With Tai getting BanchoLeomon and Mat getting Chaosmon. BanchoLeomon's line to me feels more like a protagonist line where as Darkdramon's armory/military themed line feels more Rival oriented. I get the mindset of Tai gets Lizard/Dragon, Matt gets Beast idea, but outside of that I think the lines work better the other way around.
@@AussieDragoon Fair enough. Though you could even use it as an excuse to do an Omnimon with new arms thing. There is a Valdur arm Chaosmon. You could add in the other partners being different arms
With that whole statement about the "Tai and Matt show" it kind of reminded me of a rumor I heard not too long after Adventure 2020 ended where the show was originally supposed to actually just be about Tai, Matt, TK and Kari, but then the executives at Toei pushed to have the other children added which caused a lot of changes to the plot to add them in.
As much I enjoyed the other chosen kids from Adventure, I can't help but wonder if the 2020 version would have been stronger if it did purely focus on 4 of them.
Something interesting about giving Tai and Matt legend arms is that it means that when they do jump into other character's plots we can have other characters using the sword/shield! so they don't have mode changes themselves but basically are the mode/equip changes for the others! Altur Balistamon with Durandamon or SaintGalgomon with Bry-(not attempting that) BIG DRAGON TOWER SHIELD!
I love these partner choices for the kids. TK and Kari getting Terriermon and Lopmon is a great idea that I never thought of a lot but it's fits them really well and I can definitely see it happening.
I also thought that it would be cool to do this for 02. They only thing that would have me a bit reserved is that I think it would be better if we got custom Armors and Jogresses. I don’t know if that would fit with how you handled this but if you did decide to do that it would be awesome!

These new partners could redefine what the crests would be like, and therefore affect how the new Digimon 02 partners would evolve. The new Davis partner getting weapons due to Zubamon and shields and literal armor due to Ludomon
I straight love this lineup. There's a ton of really good Rookies they've been releasing lately, like Vorvomon (or heck Coronamon and Lunamon) that haven't really gotten much starpower or exposure. Even Pulsemon. This is a really exciting lineup for the kids and they all get a chance at some really cool later evolutions. Especially for Tai and Matt.
I always thought that the Olympus 12/8 would make for great alternative partners to the original 8 digidestined, there are a lot of themes and designs that i feel would match quite well.

I could see Tai getting Hackmon's line as a partner with Matt getting Dorumon to Alphamon line. I can see TK and Kari getting Coronamon and Lunamon respectively to keep with the whole divine\holy theme for them with Coronamon having an alternate evo in lynxmon or agunimon and having marsmon or keeping goldramon as an alternate mega and Kari keeping cherubimon as her alternate mega. I can't think of what for the rest.
I could have sworn you were going to give Matt a Bulucomon! You really surprised me with your pick, but it does make a lot of sense when paired with your choice for Taichi!

Then we need a Fire Digimon as its counterpart so that we have a Omnimon Variant who focuses on Heat and Freezing Attacks altough Omnimon does that except really using fire attacks. A Ice Dragon and what could be the other one? Well that way it would also fit to Todoroki Shoto from My Hero Academia. But has Blucomon a Mega Level when yes i dont know it. What Animals are there who could be used for fire except reptilians?
Great video idea. Here is an idea for Digimon 02. Do what if each character was Digimon Emperor, how the story would be different and affect their Digimon partner?
This idea! Its getting my little fanfiction brain to go overdrive. This would make such an interesting character deep dive and exploring different story beats. Seems rather beefy as a project though but could perhaps be a cooler longer video series. (Just thinking in general this is no obligation for you kharn)

A lot of great, if not perfect picks. Although thanks for reminding me that we still don't have X-Antibody-variants for the rest of Terriermons and Lopmons lines (sans Cherubimon and Rapidmon Gold), I think a full X-Antibody variant line would've been interesting to have as a partner for a main character in an anime. I also have to admit that, while Regalecusmon kinda fits along with Vikemon, being this warrior-like Deep Savers Digimon, I never really saw how those fit to Joe, really. Neptunemon is a bit more balanced in that regard, but I think ultimately, the only other option for a Mega that comes to my mind that I think might fit more so to Joe is FrosVelgrmon, although in that case everything before that also becomes a bit more iffy, even if Frozomon could be an acceptable previous stage. The only other way I could think of would be going through CrysPaledramon and the rest of the Blucomon-line, and at that point, you could just as well say that Hexeblaumon would be a similarly fitting Mega, as a wizard.
the only change I'd make to these choices is to give TK and Kari more recent digimon, for Kari it'd be Meicoomon, inot Meicrackmon into Raseilmon(since we only saw Meicoomon's darker evolution line in Tri) and for TK I'd go with Kudamon 2006(tbh I feel like 2005 is as good of a max for the earliest a digimon could have debuted as 2010 and thus, 2006 Kudamon fits into it), into Reppamon into Kirinmon into Tyilinmon into Sleipmon and for their alternate ultimates it could be Mitamamon for TK and either Junomon, Mastemon or Holydramon for Kari(I lean towards Mastemon)

I love seeing love for the nobel arms Digimon they definitely deserve it. It's really a bummer that terriermon really only makes sense to go into gargomon, I love both of them but I would love to see an alternate champion that that makes sense like lopmon
Vorvomon for Sora is an interesting choice. Really surprised you didn't do Hyokomon. Pomumon with Mimi is surprisingly fitting. Love the inclusion of Sangoomon. I was expecting Lopmon and Terriermon since the first partner swap vid lol. Giving Dianamon as an alternate is surprising but now I'm imagining the original digidestined with the Olympos XII lol. Ludomon and Zubamon for Matt and Tay is a pleasant surprise. Good choices all around. Loved it.
What I love the most about your "What If" series is that despite at some point I might disagree with you I always end up with "Whatdaheck! That makes so much sense! Make this a real thing, Toei!".
You should do a video or series giving Pokémon attributes to Digimon. For example: Agumon Type: Fire Abilities: Tough Claw/Strong Jaw Base stats: higher Attack and Defense, lower Speed Moves: Bite, Crush Claw, Leer, Ember, etc.
Okay so this is amazing, and I always love how much thought you put into these. That said, if it is ever somehow popular and you think enough folks would watch it, could you get some artists to do custom alternate partners? Maybe still base them around the crests and/or have them be alternate evolutions of the originals. Idk, you're the expert. Thanks for another great video!
With Volcdramon, I could see it being able to reduce the temperature of its body when carrying the kids in order to avoid hurting them. I mean, Birdramon's feathers are literally made of FIRE, for crying out loud!

4:25 YES!!!! I would love a fan art video with ideas for the digimon xros wars manga evolutions. KoKabuterimon and altur ballistamon are my choice of partner lines so seeing a proper mega for them would be great.
I was actually chatting with a friend a few weeks ago about how pomumon and its line all match up well with agumons line in both og adventure and in adv 2020 Agu/pomu: sharp teeth tiny dino vibes Grey/parasaur: just a dino Metalgrey/toropia: the dino but +wings and a theme from the dark mega form(metal/poisonous plants) Skullgrey/ent: evil decayed versions of the ultimate Wargrey/bloomlord: its a more humanoid form with cool weapons and a shield who both fire either a small sun or a beam of sunlight as an attack Machinedra/hydra: actual Dramons who are monstrous and giant when compared to the main mega line Of note I haven't come up with a good omnimon or blitzgreymon version yet but that can be sorted another day
The Ludomon line maybe also fits Matt because he can protect his friends with his shields. What maybe fits the crest of friendship even better then "protecting your friends with claws and guns" like the Gabumon line. :D
Good ideas, the Legend Arms are my favorites in this video, in Pendulum Z had Duramon become Shinegreymon and Raijiludomon jogress to Ancient garurumon.

Even if it's hard for me to see these kids paired up with completely different digimon, this is an interesting and well done video 👍 I ended up super disappointed with this reboot series. I love and adore the original Digimon Adventure. It was my first ever exposure to Digimon, I grew up with, it is part of my DNA. And the reboot was a total waste of time, energy and potential for me :/ Instead of giving these kids different digimon partners I would seriously remake the whole plot/storyline of the 2020 series. But for a video, specially a Karn EX video, the premise of changing digimon partners is cool. Personally I liked what you did with Sora, Mimi, Joe, Tai and Matt. I think Joe and Tai are my favorites. If I were to pick new digimon for the 2020 reboot, I would keep the original rookies (Agumon, Palmon, etc.) But have new evolution lines for all of them. I don't think I would include alternative evolutions because the reboot was quite bad about that interesting aspect. Not all digimon got alternative evos, some got alt champions while others alt megas, some even got alt modes. It was a real mess for me to be honest. I can't believe they used Pegasusmon and not Nefertimon, for example. And that 2020 Mimi didn't get BanchoLillymon at some point still stings. Basically I'm still mad at this reboot series. It had no reason to be that wasted....

I have a wild idea. Cross Season Partner Swaps! You've already got a series swapping partners within seasons, so why not swap them across seasons and see where things take off? And alternatively. Digivice swaps. I personally think it would be interesting to see how differently things would go for certain teams if they had a different team's style of Digivice to use with their existing partners.
Volvomon for Sora would be great. There might also be an arc where Volvomon have insecurity of being bad at flying despite having wing and Sora accept him for what he is and once the insecurity gone he can go to his perfect form and finally able to fly. Cliche but that is Sora's trait,love and care.
For Izzy, I personally think Kokabuterimon > Ballistamon > MetalLifeKuwagamon > Grandis Kuwagamon is a good line. Grandis actually looks a bit techy and metal so fits the bill!
If you give Izzy Fanbeemon it can easily substitute for Piyomon as the flight method. Also, I think Tai would fit well with Dracomon and the alts are all there.
I actually dreamed of getting a season 2 of adventures 2020 where the digidestined's partner digimon gets kidnapped and turned evil, forcing them with new digimon partners
Since we're mixing things up a bit, something that I think held Adventure 02 back was its overreliance on leaning on the original Digimon Adventure, in not just its storylines and the like but also in that TK/Takeru and Kari/Hikari were part of the new team, I also thought was a bit weird that Yolei got the Digimantals tied to Sora and Mimi's crests despite the fact she clearly had personality traits more in line with those of Izzy/Koshiro and Joe. In contrast, Cody got those instead; my theory is because she was a girl, and they just didn't want to muddy the waters by giving crests that boys in the original Adventure to a girl, which is a stupid reason. But what if they did mix up the formula for the reboot of Adventure 02 by pulling TK and Kari out of being the main cast and relegating them to a supporting cast, like the rest of the original Adventure kids, and brought in new characters to the roles they had in the 02 to fill those slots instead, and with the change in the cast we could also play mix and match with the Digimantles to have the kids have access to armor forms that were and weren't seen in Adventure 02. I'm pretty sure you have few ideas of how to do that, especially in terms of what the cast of the Adventure 02 reboot could look like, but would you give the team all new partners or have them keep the partners had from Adventure 02? You have to remember, the Digimon that were partners in Adventure 02 were stated have lineages, usually ancient, that allowed them to armor digivolve, so it stands to reason that any replacement Digimon should also have that same sort of caveat. And I'm sure there are some lesser-seen Digimon that would fit those bills in a few ways. Although, you might need to commission some more fanworks for a video like that, mostly because I don't think there are the right kind of official Digimon for a few of the full evolution lines. That all said, I do think that Davis and Ken should probably keep their partners regardless, mostly because there is so little done with their partner Digimon in an official capacity, and I would love to see an episode where they try form Paildramon in a moment of rage only to end up with Dinobeemon and put everyone in danger until they can find a way to sort of tame it.
A cool way to do it and subvert expectations would be have that opening episode be the same ( maybe add in the other digi destions fighting their own battles) and have their og digimon but since they used so much energy with out a deep enough connection, when the evolve from babies when they meet again , you get different lines
If Kari and TK got Lopmon and Terriermon, I could see Willis existing and getting Patamon and Salamon instead. Salamon going the “dark” route and going to BlackGatomon to LadyDevimon to Ophanimon FallDown Mode maybe???
My choices. First up Tai = gaussmon, tyrannomon, burninggraymon and finally blitzgreymon. Next is sora = hawkmon, quetzacoatlmon, crowmon and finally Eaglemon. Next up mimi = lalamon, kazemon, lilamon and finally ceresmon medium. Next is izzy = wormmon, ballistamon, metalkabuterimon and finally tyrant kabuterimon. Next up is Joe = syakomon, depthmon, megaseadramon and finally neptunemon. Next is tk = cupidmon (lucemon's Intraining form), gargoylemon, aeroveedramon and finally goldramon. Next up Kairi = Lopmon, renamon, beastmon and finally ophanimon. Last but not least matt = elecmon, raidramon, kendogarurumon and finally miragegaogamon.
Hands up if you wanna see Karn give customer ultimates and megas to the 02 kids that dont require DNA digivolutions. Like Veemon > ExVeemon > Custom Ult > Custom Mega
I always thought we'd get more of the various groups in Digimon than we actually do. Like just random new partners for existing shows could be Adventure and 02 are partnered up with the Olympus XII, the Tamers actually were paired with the Sovereign instead of facing against them, and stuff like that. Would love one where the Legend Arms were the focus and the next set of knights to take over after the Royal Knights like Hackmon
AncientKabuterimon could really work for Izzy by making his final arc be to not really all the time on technology, and to trust his mind and his friends too.
Don't worry Karn. One day they'll do an anime or game about x-antibody. And then we can have main characters with Dorumon and Fanbeemon. One day. I'm totally not coping

I like the use of terriermon and lopmon in recognizing their sort of holy potential but I think using the Tamers line for Terriermon really loses a lot of the plot characteristics of TK and Kari, despite Kari getting to keep hers. In Digimon Championship Terriermon could digivolve into Darcmon which you can use as a jumping off point for any of the holy or holy beast lines.
i love your picks but if they did something like digimon survive but its an anime with a new set of 8 kids i think they would use ludomon and zubamon and maybe pomumon and some others if it did happen i would love to watch it

I'm very happy that you went with the Terriermon and Lopmon route for Takura and Hikari. I've always thought those Digimon lines felt like they should've ended in a DNA digivolution, where it looks sort of like Cherubimon being able to control MegaGargomon's ammunition. Throw in some pink and green haze and gun powder, and you have Kalimon (Kali is the Goddess of Destruction and Dissolution in Hinduism, and she is one of the most popular goddesses in India. Kali is known for destroying ignorance, and she helps those who strive for knowledge of God)
You could use MetalKabuterimon for Izzy since in the Digimon Accel it is classified as a Mega apparently... Yes I looked this up because I was curious if he's an Ultimate or Mega.
7:10 becuase it had the main final boss of Adventure in it's code, caused the reboot, killed Leomon, and almost brought the destruction to the two world and was killed because misery in the Digimon films someone give the good Meicomon line to someone in any what if partners, it's bad enough the depressing cameo of Meicomon in Ghost Game Meicomon isn't bad because of Tri, it needs it's reemption.

As someone who main Ragnalordmon in the tcg I love the idea of the duo having the legend arms combo.
Why can't there be a digimon season with the digimon who don't get any time to in the anime like Tyrannomon, Leomon, Kuwagamon, Andromon and Meramon?

Although thanks for reminding me that we still don't have X-Antibody-variants for the rest of Terriermons and Lopmons lines (sans Cherubimon and Rapidmon Gold), I think a full X-Antibody variant line would've been interesting to have as a partner for a main character in an anime.
I also have to admit that, while Regalecusmon kinda fits along with Vikemon, being this warrior-like Deep Savers Digimon, I never really saw how those fit to Joe, really. Neptunemon is a bit more balanced in that regard, but I think ultimately, the only other option for a Mega that comes to my mind that I think might fit more so to Joe is FrosVelgrmon, although in that case everything before that also becomes a bit more iffy, even if Frozomon could be an acceptable previous stage. The only other way I could think of would be going through CrysPaledramon and the rest of the Blucomon-line, and at that point, you could just as well say that Hexeblaumon would be a similarly fitting Mega, as a wizard.

the only change I'd make to these choices is to give TK and Kari more recent digimon, for Kari it'd be Meicoomon, inot Meicrackmon into Raseilmon(since we only saw Meicoomon's darker evolution line in Tri) and for TK I'd go with Kudamon 2006(tbh I feel like 2005 is as good of a max for the earliest a digimon could have debuted as 2010 and thus, 2006 Kudamon fits into it), into Reppamon into Kirinmon into Tyilinmon into Sleipmon and for their alternate ultimates it could be Mitamamon for TK and either Junomon, Mastemon or Holydramon for Kari(I lean towards Mastemon)

Vorvomon for Sora is an interesting choice. Really surprised you didn't do Hyokomon. Pomumon with Mimi is surprisingly fitting. Love the inclusion of Sangoomon. I was expecting Lopmon and Terriermon since the first partner swap vid lol. Giving Dianamon as an alternate is surprising but now I'm imagining the original digidestined with the Olympos XII lol. Ludomon and Zubamon for Matt and Tay is a pleasant surprise. Good choices all around. Loved it.

You should do a video or series giving Pokémon attributes to Digimon. For example:
Agumon
Type: Fire
Abilities: Tough Claw/Strong Jaw
Base stats: higher Attack and Defense, lower Speed
Moves: Bite, Crush Claw, Leer, Ember, etc.

I was actually chatting with a friend a few weeks ago about how pomumon and its line all match up well with agumons line in both og adventure and in adv 2020
Agu/pomu: sharp teeth tiny dino vibes
Grey/parasaur: just a dino
Metalgrey/toropia: the dino but +wings and a theme from the dark mega form(metal/poisonous plants)
Skullgrey/ent: evil decayed versions of the ultimate
Wargrey/bloomlord: its a more humanoid form with cool weapons and a shield who both fire either a small sun or a beam of sunlight as an attack
Machinedra/hydra: actual Dramons who are monstrous and giant when compared to the main mega line
Of note I haven't come up with a good omnimon or blitzgreymon version yet but that can be sorted another day

I ended up super disappointed with this reboot series. I love and adore the original Digimon Adventure. It was my first ever exposure to Digimon, I grew up with, it is part of my DNA. And the reboot was a total waste of time, energy and potential for me :/
Instead of giving these kids different digimon partners I would seriously remake the whole plot/storyline of the 2020 series. But for a video, specially a Karn EX video, the premise of changing digimon partners is cool. Personally I liked what you did with Sora, Mimi, Joe, Tai and Matt. I think Joe and Tai are my favorites.
If I were to pick new digimon for the 2020 reboot, I would keep the original rookies (Agumon, Palmon, etc.) But have new evolution lines for all of them. I don't think I would include alternative evolutions because the reboot was quite bad about that interesting aspect. Not all digimon got alternative evos, some got alt champions while others alt megas, some even got alt modes. It was a real mess for me to be honest. I can't believe they used Pegasusmon and not Nefertimon, for example. And that 2020 Mimi didn't get BanchoLillymon at some point still stings.
Basically I'm still mad at this reboot series. It had no reason to be that wasted....

Volvomon for Sora would be great. There might also be an arc where Volvomon have insecurity of being bad at flying despite having wing and Sora accept him for what he is and once the insecurity gone he can go to his perfect form and finally able to fly. Cliche but that is Sora's trait,love and care.
For Izzy, I personally think Kokabuterimon > Ballistamon > MetalLifeKuwagamon > Grandis Kuwagamon is a good line. Grandis actually looks a bit techy and metal so fits the bill!
I think Bloomlordmon would fit well with mimi after all it's a knight and mimi is often compared to a princess
If you give Izzy Fanbeemon it can easily substitute for Piyomon as the flight method.
Also, I think Tai would fit well with Dracomon and the alts are all there.

I actually dreamed of getting a season 2 of adventures 2020 where the digidestined's partner digimon gets kidnapped and turned evil, forcing them with new digimon partners
Since we're mixing things up a bit, something that I think held Adventure 02 back was its overreliance on leaning on the original Digimon Adventure, in not just its storylines and the like but also in that TK/Takeru and Kari/Hikari were part of the new team, I also thought was a bit weird that Yolei got the Digimantals tied to Sora and Mimi's crests despite the fact she clearly had personality traits more in line with those of Izzy/Koshiro and Joe. In contrast, Cody got those instead; my theory is because she was a girl, and they just didn't want to muddy the waters by giving crests that boys in the original Adventure to a girl, which is a stupid reason. But what if they did mix up the formula for the reboot of Adventure 02 by pulling TK and Kari out of being the main cast and relegating them to a supporting cast, like the rest of the original Adventure kids, and brought in new characters to the roles they had in the 02 to fill those slots instead, and with the change in the cast we could also play mix and match with the Digimantles to have the kids have access to armor forms that were and weren't seen in Adventure 02.
I'm pretty sure you have few ideas of how to do that, especially in terms of what the cast of the Adventure 02 reboot could look like, but would you give the team all new partners or have them keep the partners had from Adventure 02? You have to remember, the Digimon that were partners in Adventure 02 were stated have lineages, usually ancient, that allowed them to armor digivolve, so it stands to reason that any replacement Digimon should also have that same sort of caveat. And I'm sure there are some lesser-seen Digimon that would fit those bills in a few ways. Although, you might need to commission some more fanworks for a video like that, mostly because I don't think there are the right kind of official Digimon for a few of the full evolution lines. That all said, I do think that Davis and Ken should probably keep their partners regardless, mostly because there is so little done with their partner Digimon in an official capacity, and I would love to see an episode where they try form Paildramon in a moment of rage only to end up with Dinobeemon and put everyone in danger until they can find a way to sort of tame it.

A cool way to do it and subvert expectations would be have that opening episode be the same ( maybe add in the other digi destions fighting their own battles) and have their og digimon but since they used so much energy with out a deep enough connection, when the evolve from babies when they meet again , you get different lines
If Kari and TK got Lopmon and Terriermon, I could see Willis existing and getting Patamon and Salamon instead. Salamon going the “dark” route and going to BlackGatomon to LadyDevimon to Ophanimon FallDown Mode maybe???
My choices. First up Tai = gaussmon, tyrannomon, burninggraymon and finally blitzgreymon. Next is sora = hawkmon, quetzacoatlmon, crowmon and finally Eaglemon. Next up mimi = lalamon, kazemon, lilamon and finally ceresmon medium. Next is izzy = wormmon, ballistamon, metalkabuterimon and finally tyrant kabuterimon. Next up is Joe = syakomon, depthmon, megaseadramon and finally neptunemon. Next is tk = cupidmon (lucemon's Intraining form), gargoylemon, aeroveedramon and finally goldramon. Next up Kairi = Lopmon, renamon, beastmon and finally ophanimon. Last but not least matt = elecmon, raidramon, kendogarurumon and finally miragegaogamon.
Hands up if you wanna see Karn give customer ultimates and megas to the 02 kids that dont require DNA digivolutions. Like Veemon > ExVeemon > Custom Ult > Custom Mega
I always thought we'd get more of the various groups in Digimon than we actually do. Like just random new partners for existing shows could be Adventure and 02 are partnered up with the Olympus XII, the Tamers actually were paired with the Sovereign instead of facing against them, and stuff like that. Would love one where the Legend Arms were the focus and the next set of knights to take over after the Royal Knights like Hackmon
AncientKabuterimon could really work for Izzy by making his final arc be to not really all the time on technology, and to trust his mind and his friends too.

I like the use of terriermon and lopmon in recognizing their sort of holy potential but I think using the Tamers line for Terriermon really loses a lot of the plot characteristics of TK and Kari, despite Kari getting to keep hers. In Digimon Championship Terriermon could digivolve into Darcmon which you can use as a jumping off point for any of the holy or holy beast lines.
i love your picks but if they did something like digimon survive but its an anime with a new set of 8 kids i think they would use ludomon and zubamon and maybe pomumon and some others if it did happen i would love to watch it

I'm very happy that you went with the Terriermon and Lopmon route for Takura and Hikari. I've always thought those Digimon lines felt like they should've ended in a DNA digivolution, where it looks sort of like Cherubimon being able to control MegaGargomon's ammunition. Throw in some pink and green haze and gun powder, and you have Kalimon

You could use MetalKabuterimon for Izzy since in the Digimon Accel it is classified as a Mega apparently... Yes I looked this up because I was curious if he's an Ultimate or Mega.
7:10 becuase it had the main final boss of Adventure in it's code, caused the reboot, killed Leomon, and almost brought the destruction to the two world and was killed because misery in the Digimon films
