    Awesome information as always Matt. I attribute my 810 squat and 750 conventional deadlift with just a belt to years of box squatting. They kept me injury free and fresher to train.

    The box squat does help raw lifters. The trick is to pause correctly on the box and none of this rocking back and straining off your ass stuff. If you learn to box squat correctly you will save your knees, groin and low back. Just don't set the box too low. Set it a but below paralell. Another thing with box squats is you will recover faster. No idea why but it's true. Ask Albert Einstein that.

    Anyone tried doing a full body conjugate style? Like 2- days a week.

      @@jonatanolsen37 yes, try this split
      Day 1: speed Bench/Max effort lower
      Accessories: Push/Pull/Legs
      Day 2: speed Squats/ Max Effort Upper
      Accessories: Push/ Pull/ Hinge

      I like these videos on CZcams because you can alter speed, 2x what I do with most lectures

    Several people I know of seem to feel raw squats have to be more quad dominant, almost knees over toes, so they think box squats don’t help with that.
    Personally I’ve got a stiff ankle so I have to squat in that style like you demonstrate so box squats help me a lot.

    Do you think pin squats are comparable? Easier on my back.

    Hello guys, can someone please explain to me the difference between conjugate and conditioning and strength and conditioning? I've searched, but i don't really understand they are the same to me. Thanks

    • @kirkeichenberg
      @kirkeichenberg Před 21 dnem

      Conjugate is a way of to periodize training. Like block, linear, undulating periodization. Conditioning could be two things. 1: raising up your general physical preparedness like Wenning warm ups. 2: training aerobic capacity ie long walks, being on the bike in a zone 2 heart rate for 30 mins are some examples.

      @kirkeichenberg ok, thank u very much, so u telling me conjugate is just a way of approaching strength and conditioning? The problem is in my country, no one talks about this. My English is not perfect, so even if I search online and then translate it, it doesn't explain that well. Thank u again, man
