@Mike Jones nahhhh would've been a fat overpay for a guy who missed 60 games in the past two years. Look at the advanced stats. Bucks production didn't dip whatsoever when we lost brogdon. His 50/40/90 was a fluke to justify an overpay. Bucks made the smart decision. Save going into the luxury tax for Giannis next year.

    • @jamrocker357357

@Mike Jones you've gotta look at it from a basketball perspective and not as a blind fanboy. It hurt me seeing brogdon go too, but it was the only option that made sense. He missed 60 games in two years and our team's production didn't take a dip whatsoever with him out. Can you say the same thing about Khris or Giannis?cuz when one of them are hurt the teams production actually goes down. With coach Bud and Giannis, Khris and Brook we will be fine. Don't forget we've got Wes Matthews now too, plus young talent that can continue to improve in Sterling Brown, DJ Wilson, even Donte. #FreeDJ

@Mike Jones the east is still wide open lol Philly doesn't have a good floor spacer anymore, Nets won't be good till 2021 with KD back. Raps are done without Kawhi. Celtics are still manageable. Indiana might be tough with a healthy Dipo back but it's too early to tell. Bucks have a clear shot at the finals next season with or without brogdon

@@lacydoe You gotta watch games 3-6 man, I was rooting for the raps so I won't discredit Kawhi but it was the whole team guarding Giannis as soon as he stepped inside the 3 point line.
Let's not sugarcoat it. The defensive metrics you're looking at are skewed because they don't measure 4 players guarding Giannis, they'll only measure the 1 on 1 matchup. Not the smartest idea to use those defensive stats for this matchup, you'd be better off just watching the games and using an eye test.

He literally couldnt stop him from getting deep in the paint, so Kawhi smartly forced him into the help. Its similar to the defense San Antonio did on LeBron in 2014 finals. Kawhi was told to try to stay in front of him, and when he gets by, Duncan, spliter and other big guys were there to force a pass out.

Lol Cris has no idea what he's talking about saying it was "mono e mono" single coverage between Kawhi and Giannis. @@dudesweet1583 Yea I rooted for the raps during the playoffs but i'm not gonna be blind to how good their team defense was (led by Kawhi ofc). Everytime Kawhi was single coverage on Giannis I knew Kawhi wasn't gonna be able to stop him, it just wasn't gonna happen and they needed the whole team to help stop him. And for all you people saying kawhi clamped him stop. The raptors had 5 dudes who can get stop by themselves before you count kawhi. You can't put the entire blame on Giannis and say he got shut down by Kawhi. The Coach and the coaching staff need to be blamed as well. They never fathomed that Giannis could be stopped, so they never had a Plan B a What if?. So when Coach Nick Nurse adjusted to the play style after 2 games and took away your main option of slashing to the bucket with Giannis, they didn't know what to do and just kept running Giannnis into walls of defense and just lose 4 games in a row. They never adjusted. Well they never implemented during the season another offensive option running point with someone else have Giannis post up etc.

Intermediate game? Giannis needs a POST game. Giannis scores at the rim, but as a driver. He's able to use his quickness to beat bigs off the dribble but that's not posting up. When Kawhi, somebody who is strong enough not to get pushed around but also quick enough to stay in front, got on him he had no counter. The solution is a JUMP HOOK or a drop step off of it. This gets Kawhi in foul trouble. He can go back to his old game against the slower guys.

Giannis just needs to go to shoot the jump hook and improves his FT. Then Kawhi won't be able to guard him. On defense, go guard Kawhi so won't have to double team.
Don't shoot the 3's because 1) his 3-point % isn't as good as his teammates. 2) go into the paint where you have the advantage. that will put pressure on the opponent.

That’s what everyone underestimated about the Raptors (even though Kawhi got them to the show) - everyone on that Raps team had gone through the heartbreak and endured the “underachievement” etc. 9/10 times, that is what produces a champion. The failure and shortcomings that preceded it.
