Transcendental Meditation
The benefits of the Transcendental Meditation technique are immediate and increase over time. The technique's positive effects-for mind, body and relationships-have been verified by hundreds of research studies conducted at top medical schools and published in over 350 peer-reviewed scientific journals.TM
Hagelin: Transcendental Meditation properly understood and properly practiced is a systematic means to turn the attention powerfully within. To experience and explore deeper levels of mind, quieter levels of the awareness until the mind is completely settled in the simplest state of human awareness.
Rosenthal: Through Transcendental Meditation one can slip into a zone if you like in which you are thoroughly alert, profoundly relaxed, very joyful in spirit, but unfocused on anything in particular. It's not a thing your happy about and yet you're joyful. It's not a thing you're thinking about and yet you're alert. You're not asleep and yet you're profoundly relaxed. It's a really curious state that is a thing in itself. One thing about Transcendental Meditation and you hear this from many people who have tried a bunch of different meditation techniques to get to this state - is it's one of the simplest, most effortless ways of accessing the transcendent.
Hagelin: In this meditative state the body gains a deep state of rest, deeper than sleep and deep seated stress is dissolved, providing an effective prevention to stress related illness, removing the deleterious effects of stress on health and brain functioning. It's a systematic meditation technique to develop the full potential of mind and body.
*Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is now practiced by millions of people worldwide from all backgrounds and from all walks of life. TM is one of the most simple, natural and effective meditation techniques in the world today.

When i meditate it after a minute or two i feel like i go deep in my mind but i have full awareness whats going on around me and i feel like nothing can harm me, I feel like theirs a brick wall around me protecting me ,idk its weird but it's relaxing and comforting
I have tried TM and other techniques--including hypnotic techniques. TM is much easier and more effective. And importantly, more natural and the benefits come right away. As a Vet, I think it should be made available for all!
Once I have a mantra do I repeat it out loud or in my mind? Do I repeat it for the full 20 minutes?
@@eternalnateyou can use it at any time nate & you don't have to be sitting, lying down with your eyes closed. When ever your monkey mind starts running away use your mantra. Use it all day or when you remember. Make it habit to stay Present, mindful as lm now doing. When l bend down if l see light I'll come back to this video 🙏
My mother always used to say that my uncle who once suffered from rather severe psoriasis started doing TM and his psoriasis practically disappeared as a benefit from it. I guess it makes sense if it lowers your stress levels as stress can be a trigger for outbreaks. I find the physiological benefits interesting.
I did TM as a teenager and it really helped me. It reduced headaches and help with focus. I would highly recommend you do the training and practice TM.
Nice, and I am glad that millions of people didn't wait for science to explain it to believe it can work.
This is a bittersweet gift of serenity ❤️
Profound and forever gratitude for being able to learn this technique! It changed my life and I trust that by continuing my practice, Nature will just continue to support me in becoming a much better human being.
I am doing meditation past 15 years, when you meditate please don't expect any thing, just think the mantra.
As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, we like to say the difference between Hypnosis and Meditation is the spelling. Beyond that, we say that meditation concentrates on the word (the Mantra) and meditation is the space between the words. Both are ways to open communication with the unconscious (subconscious) mind to improve ourselves, both help in clarifying the mind and most importantly, both leave us completely in control of ourselves.
The EEG found during TM practice is not the EEG found during hypnosis.
If I am not mistaken, from what I remember when studying TM in the mid 1970's, Transcendental Meditation is not the same as what most people refer to and practice as meditation. I think you would find differences between TM and meditation, also. You will also find differences between self-hypnosis levels and trance induced by an experienced hypnotherapist.
Daniel Cox I'm not sure what you mean by "studying TM." There's a standardized class taught by accredited teachers licensed through an international accreditation body. As to whether or not it is like other forms of meditation, some people say yes, some say no. What matters, is the physical changes that take place in the nervous system when you practice, and how these affect your life outside of practice. Trying to decide if it is similar to some other practice without looking at the physiological changes is futile.
Hi Billy! Great point. There are many kinds of meditations out there where you're either mindful, concentrating, focusing on your breath or things of that nature. This form of meditation truly transcends the mind. It is very unique. I have personally tried other forms of meditation, and nothing allows me to dive deep within this effortlessly and consistently. It's truly impressive. If you'd like to speak with a certified teacher, simply fill out this contact form on our website above or call.
Glad you liked it Kamran! Do you practice TM?
***** To understand the course fee (which varies, but is at most $960 in the US) and our organization, I suggest checking out www.tm.org/inside-story

TM will definitley help you, good luck! :)
@bladdan 35 is no problem no worries. I feel that I really need to find an answer too. I'm skeptical on it too. I might go try it if the tm center lets me have a discount on the price. It's $1500 over here. Sadly I heard it was $35? around the 70's. My doctor recommended meditation though and I'm willing to try. I say it's worth a try because I believe that deep breathing can help fix many problems. I actually think deep breathing helps with headaches and stress. I don't see harm with trying tm

Do you think of something in particular, or try to think of nothing at all?
@bladdan if you fall into a meditative state daily youll answer that question yourself
@bladdan go for it meditation will change your life...
what is the mantra? one you decide on, or is there a standard mantra?
being adhd, you can do anything you get yourself obsessed with. you just gotta obsess yourself on it. so to speak. :P
To stickybelvedere:
As much as I know, mantra has its own rhythm and power within it and by chanting it, we get synchronized with the Universe, so, yes, I think it is important.

You`re not human being having spiritual expirience, you`re spiritual being having human expirience.. Soo what u doing every day when u get up, is hiting "human state", you make effort for that, you are ready even to feel negative just to be in human state :D
Just close eyes and DONT think about anything, not even about this text i wrote :D In one point u lose connect to this world, you dont feel any negativity, just joy, you dont have sance for space or time :Pp
It sounds like "meditation" to me. haha. What's the difference between "transcendental meditation" and just plain meditation? I suppose transcendental is a good word to put on front of it though because it basically describes what the purpose is.....which is to transcend the body/mind(ego) and discover something greater. But it used to confuse me why they called it transcendental meditation as opposed to just meditation. I think the reason is what I just explained.
i hope you find help and a solution that makes you better : )
hey guys!
im so desperate that im searching for help for hour's and hour's each day....
i have adhd/add, my life is literary in ruins because of my condition and i want to do something about it.
TM seems to be the answer... what do u think?
btw im 35 .....
Please explain the difference between Transcendental Meditation and the mindfulness meditation that I practice. A genuine curiosity there's no joy in any comparison I'm simply wondering. After finding meditation my mind stays open to all the other practices. Thank you in advance
Mindfulness meditations generally involve paying attention to your breath and observing your thoughts, whereas the TM technique doesn’t involve any focused attention or observation of experience. It’s a mantra-based meditation that naturally results in self-transcending. It’s simple, entirely effortless, and enjoyable.
very interesting ! i'm useing this introduction for my comic book scenes thanks !
What is your comic book called?
well it's just one comic book out of ten . it's called the Rual Saga . ( :
A psychostimulant is also another option. Consider using medication in conjunction with meditation and other forms of alternative treatments for the best results regarding ADHD to be honest.
The mantra is a sound with no meaning that is specifically assigned to you during teaching. It is your personal, secret mantra. If you would like to talk to a TM teacher, please call the number above or fill out the contact form to find the teacher nearest you. He or she will be happy to speak with you :) Best of luck Wendy!
how will i know if TM teachers are legit teachers..?
Hi Sharyn,Any TM teachers found through the TM organization’s website (learntm.org/explore-tm) are certified TM teachers. These teachers have successfully completed the official, 5-month in-residence, TM Teacher Training course and are trained to teach according to the TM organization’s best practice standards. They also regularly attends continuing education conferences and courses. If you’d like to be certain beyond that feel free to contact the TM organization directly to inquire further!

***** you know the answer but your not aware of it, allow me to assist.
If medicine was made to help people why do you have to pay for it?
If I want to be fit why should I pay for a fitness trainer?
Pretty sure the answer to your question is in the answer to those questions.
namaste
