- One of the most common adjustments too look into when serving a Watch is the cannon pinion. The cannon pinion allows the nation work of the movement to travel from the gear train side of the watch to the display side of the watch. The cannon pinion is friction fit to the minute pinion but also needs it’s own independence when the user sets the time on the watch. The friction fit of the cannon pinion needs to be proper in order to clutch between the two tasks it must preform. Thanks again for watching and remember keep it radical, Times Radical.

very good tutorial thanks
Thank you 🙏
Great explanation, helped me a lot ! Thank you!
Thanks 🙏
Another helpful and interesting video, Fabio. You are definitely improving your videography skills. I've never seen anyone thoroughly cover the details of safely completing this seemingly simple task. I completely buggered a canon pinion the first time I tried this. You have undoubtedly saved someone the disappointment of crushing a minute wheel or canon pinion. Good choice of subject matter.
Thanks Chris! I’ve definitely ruined my fair share of cannon pinions as well. Definitely going to keep creating these videos I really want to get good at it!
Nice job! Always good to see how others do this simple job. I like your special bits for your Horia!
Thanks, I made all these horia stumps and pushers on a mini lathe in watchmaking school.
Great tutorial! I will use my mother-in-law's toe nail clippers. Those clippers are made of the finest high cabon steel! What more can I ask for?
Hahah ohh man that’s Funny!
Now I understand why ETA made it's hour wheel free. Guess for ease of exchange and installation. Nice video.
That’s a great observation with the eta movements. Thanks
In your description, you mention “nation work.” What is that? I’m new to watchmaking.
Ohh my bad. Thanks for catching that. That’s an error on my part. Instead of “nation work” it should be “power”. I’ll have to edit that later.
Hi, I have another problem it is too tight, how can I loosen it? Hands setting mode is really tight…
You can try the same technique just turn the pinion 90 degrees pressing in the opposite places bulges out the areas that are pinched too much. Or you can open the pinion up from the inside with a cutting and smoothing broach.
@@Timesradical Great, thank you for the answer :)
Nice review. There are also a set of Bergeon pliers specific to this job. Bergeon 2803 is for adjusting cannon pinions. What movement was this by the way? That keyless works looked interesting.
Thanks, this is a Rolex 3135 movement
@@Timesradical I was guessing that it's Rolex from the crown and the consistent perlage. Thanks for confirming.
