Strange how Trey can't have a family dynamic with his father-in-law because the whole idea for the mini movie trailer highlighting this pack was based on the confliction of characteristics between the husband and his father-in-law ... 🤔
EA is never honest with their Sims 4 trailers.
You can have family dynamics with in-laws, they just cannot be set in cas.
If we’re lucky maybe someone smarter than myself will make a mod to add that feature 😂

with the emphasis on the tooth fairy in this pack, they really missed a great opportunity to add a dentist career and include teen moodlets for uncomfortable braces

but it's a fictional world in a video game so you can call it whatever you want, really.
Yea they missed a ton of opportunities with this one. It could've been a much more fleshed out pack, but I do have to say I love the long-awaited addition/changes made to the traits and likes&dislikes stuff. Still doesn't make sense that they couldn't give us a bit more stuff in-game, since hidden traits or quirks already existed (in different forms ofc) in Sims 2 and 3.
this is so old news but it makes me so sad how much they skip out on in every pack, i miss the time when they did the spa day refresh and people wanted them to refresh all the packs!!! I WANT PACK REFRESHES NOT MORE SHIT PACKS

My mom used to put me in that “Pebbles” hairstyle as a baby, so I’m excited to see it in game. I’ve been playing with the pack since yesterday. In fact, this is the first pack I’ve ever preordered.
I also pre ordered and I’ve never spent full price of a pack before that’s how excited I was 😂

I realized that pretty much an infants actions freeze all other sims, so the reason often why they adult won't put a baby in a crib or high chair is bc the infant has something else queued up instead (like crawl here), and it causes the adult to freeze and put the baby down. Hope this helps!
I noticed that the baby/infant interactions that queue up when they need help really overpower anything you might be telling them to do. I hope they tweak that a little bit. While I appreciate the parents wanting to take care of them, I'm already on it so there's no need. There was also a lot of getting stuck like if I put the infant down and realized she needed a diaper change. They wouldn't just pick the baby up and do it, I'd first have to pick the infant up them tell them to change the diaper. Otherwise they'd just stand there.
Changing tables that match base game items... behind a paywall. Just when I think they've learned their lesson, they do this.

@Kikiricki Kira I'm honestly more upset because there are people out there that can't afford to spend 40 dollars on this. It's like they made the items to go with the update but decided at the last minute to put them in the pack. This isn't the 1st time they have done something like this so It's hard to not criticize these actions. I believe it has a lot to do with their EA overlords. They have improved in a lot of way, which almost makes this worse. They were so close to proving they had learned from their mistakes. To buy all the packs full price is like 1000 dollars, now think about how many people play and have them all. I think they could afford to put some fucking changing tables in the update. It's greed and it's gross.

According to Petey Plays It, if you click/initiate the actions from the infant's perspective instead of the caregiver's, it should be less laggy and a little more responsive.

See? 5 changing tables but none for base game. I bought growing together but there's some people who won't have it for a bit if at all.
As someone who has literally waited years to be able to play the sims (when it became free) and the fact that I have to depend on custom content and mods to make my game fun is just sad. EA is probably the most money-hungry company I’ve ever been exposed to.
@Strawbxrry Tea Agree 100% I don't think I could play my game without mods or CC. I even have a mod that allows your sim to have an an auto immune disease which I love since I have one. You can pick it as a trait.
From what I've seen though, the changing table takes a much longer time to use. If I ever get this pack I might not use the changing table at all 😂

I noticed the same delays and weird things in my game that you did here, so its glitches in the new pack I am afraid. I also agree that at least 1 of the change tables should of come to the base game. Great video ty! Kim
They put in 2 that are the same, just one has a bin. I feel like they should have just put (the one without a bin) into the base game and left the others for the pack.
Or at least the cheap plastic fold-down one from the store bathrooms lol
Did anyone else notice that damn green book being put away then appeared on the floor or table only for it to be put away again and again by various sims. I hope this pack isn't super glitchy... I like my Whiny Brit game play to be as flowy as possible to get that wonderful dialog she does so well. 😉 Thanks for sharing so much of the pack! Awesome as usual. 👍👍👍👍

that is one thing i like about sims 2 & sims 3 sims always do as they are told wen you tell them sims 4 sims you have to tell them 3 or 4 times to do some thing

Knowing that are FIVE changing tables for infants in expansion pack is making me even more angry they didn't put one of these (preferably that matching base game children room) in the update.

I’m only partway into the video but I’m so excited for this! This is the first video I’ve seen where someone actually goes through the gameplay. I’ve been on the fence about buying the pack and the early access vids from other simmers didn’t really show enough gameplay for me to decide (although I low key want to buy it just for that shower/tub item lmao)

that’s exactly what i was thinking! they showed and advertised the difficult relationship between the son in law and the father and you can’t even do it in game! they probably won’t even change it too.. 🤦♀️
I was in the middle of playing a 100 baby challenge and the update and the expansion pack really made it more challenging I’m not sure how I feel about that part but I do love everything❤

I think EA learned a lot from Sims Mobile in terms of what people are willing to pay for. EA is very good at marketing sub-quality products that people rush to buy by building excitement about what’s next. It’s like a little bit like Christmas a few times a year.
It’s a constant dopamine drip. We’re addicted.
hey whiny brit loved the video, you really should make a Queen Elizabeth II sim I would love to see that! Also i’m not sure if anyone’s told you but in create a sim if you go to the body section like where you can select tattoos and the body hair from Highschool Years there are some new birthmarks and scars to make it look like your sims had c-sections as well. Really enjoyed the video thankyou for showing off the pack and have a wonderful weekend
The bin is useless. My sims never use the damn diaper bin, they just throw the diapers on the floor. If I have to do all the work, why don't I just save some simoleons and use the regular trash bin? Also, god almighty do I hate the new cry!
You should try an experiment with the new life stage where for one baby you just feed them and ignore all other things like the tummytime goal, reaching ect ect and the OTHER baby gets ALL needs met and works on all skills goals ect .... and see what the outcome would be as they age
I love watching your videos, so much so that I listen to them at bedtime. Super excited to see your take on the pack, I eagerly started the video and then four hours later you were still speaking softly and calling yourself a stupid b----- and I felt so refreshed. I'm not sure if I'll ever see the entirety of this video as it's over half an hour, but it's going to get a lot of views from my account that's for sure. Thank you for being my sleep-aid, it's hard to get a decent rest with chronic pain and fatigue.
EA is probably scamming us again. If it was not for the amazing talents of our favorite YTubers, this game would have died out a long time ago. In my not so humble opinion. ❤😂

I warmed up to this expansion, but was disappointed with the compatibility feature. I made a single sim and picked the likes and dislikes, then went out into the wild with no plan or goals. Socializing with every sim I could find. The only thing that happened was the label compatible or not on the social panel. No actual difference no matter the type of sim or conversation.So it's pretty meaningless. Other things I really like, like gaining new traits, and also wants that expanded to more than they did before.
the other sims need to have their characteristics defined too. If all the ohter sims in your world have not defined likes and dislikes concerning conversations no conflict will occur. Sims who have all conversation topics on disilike will have a hard time socializing. There are videos out there where it was tested like James Turner. They did not gain compatibility through talking, they had to use the photograph trick to get friendship but the moment you talk it goes down again. They said in the stream to set those featuers for more sims. Adeepindigo has a mod for automatic characteristic preferences. Without it you will have to set them for the sims in your world - but we know that retroactive settings of features is not the sims strength. 😅
@@Ardled no.. if my sim dislikes arguing, mean, and mischief type conversation, and also dislikes the character values associated with that, with an evil or mean sim, I don't think she should like talking to them. Those are defined characteristics already in the other one. She made besties with Greg the werewolf no problem with no camera. During the process, there were two times there was a negative that happened with no interaction, but they liked each other very much and had deep connection sentiment. That wasn't what I was expecting.
@@Daiska_Plays I´d say if she dislikes arguing, mean and mischief type conversation she will dislike those conversations, yes. But if other types of conversations are chosen there will be no dislike. Which conversation did you choose? And which conversation topics did Greg choose? That he is mean will be a negative impact but how they interact with each other will matter more. So if they were ´joking all the time, sharing stories, small talk and so on - depending on if Greg likes those conversations - would logically not bring a negative impact. You will see the trait mean as a negative but if the interactions taken are not mean those things can be overcome. This is quite realistic. I am curious how you let them talk to each other - did you let them argue, being mischievous, being argumentative? If not, she had nothing to dislike but the trait mean 🤷♀. Happy simming nonetheless and take care ✨
@@Ardled yeah, I wasn't controlling Greg, but I was definitely trying to be super friendly on my sim, and Greg seemed to be receptive and wasn't grumpy toward her at all. So I get it for the interaction and social part. But the character type didn't really matter. I was hoping for it to work like the first impressions mod, that actually takes into account traits between two sims, and they don't like even being in the vicinity of a conflict with traits. I'll just reinstall that mod if/when it's updated.
I CANNOT be the only one that noticed the whole glitch with the book😅
there's a huge delay because you can't start the interaction until the baby has finished its fussing which is stupid imo, of course you should be able to walk at least while its doing its own 'cry' thing

I wasn’t even THAT exited for the pack cause I’m trying to get away from the sims but I’m CRAZY EXITED for this video! I squealed!
I know it’s not going to make me popular, but I kind of hate this update… It broke my game completely, and now I can not play the Sims on my regular computer anymore… I am transferring my game and CC to an older laptop, but it seems that most of my CC got broken with the transfer and doesn’t work anymore… It has taken me hours and hours and still not everything is ok and still can’t play the game like I would like… HATE this update, sorry… I can not afford to buy the pack, so could do without the infants thank you… 🤷♀️
EA let out a warning before the day of the update, almost as if they knew it would destroy some simmer's game save files. Unbelievable. That's like an arsonist saying "hey just a warning, I'm going to set your house on fire so prepare for this!"
Yeah, I was really not amused that my game doesn’t even start anymore, even without mods… I can see why they made this pack, a lot of players were asking for it a lot. I can even see why they would make it a pack that you have to buy. I just wish they gave the option to not buy the pack and not have the infants, so this massive update didn’t have to be installed. I could have kept my game the same and save up for the pack, but now I can’t even play… 🤬

That traits do not block characteristics a sim likes is not unrealistic. You can be ambitious but dislike ambition in others - just think of a lot of conservative men who want their women to stay at home and loving being homebodies. You can be absolut tonedeaf and love singers and musicians. You can hate cooking yourself but love someone being a good cook. Evil people can like idealistic people because they are easy to manipulate - so that offers a lot of versatility.

one thing ive noticed, is when you cue up interactions, it looks like they "go away" but the sims will go and do whatever you cued up, but it doesnt show any icon of said action. in reference to what you are saying around 38:05
Can confirm that's been happening in my game. Sometimes they go do autonomous things and the icon won't show up too.

The family dynamics are set for automatic behavior - how they interact if you do not direct them. Distant ones wil avoid each ohter, jokesters will tell funny stories, difficult ones will be mean to each other. Between children, toddlers and infants it depends which actions are possible in which age group I´d say. Is there an autonomous mean interaction toward infants and toddlers? Players have told that their children declared each other enemies with a difficult relationship left interacting on their own.
I'm mad I can't get a changing table unless I buy the pack I'm still upset I lost all my stuff after Origin switched to EA and lost money there

I found it odd the pack came with all the changing tables but not a new crib. I know we got some with base game update, but it just struck me as strange.

They add a midlife crises without a midlife life stage... *sigh* Also, I noticed since the update (I do not have the new pack) the "I clicked on my Sim and gave them a task to complete but they're just standing there doing nothing" glitch is much worse.
I wish EA would actually fix stuff that's broken before making more shit to sell us. Also, not at all happy that the new memory/milestone tracker is behind a paywall when if memory serves, it was standard in the Sims 2. Seems like EA is taking default stuff people loved about the Sims 2 and putting those things in expansion packs. next thing you know they'll throw spooning in bed behind a paywall too.

When The Sims are playing "Let's Pretend" on here, every time those two words are said I'm taken back to 1982 (when I was just 3years old), and I'm watching daytime kids TV (possibly on Thames Television/Granada/ITV?!?! 🤔🤷🏻♂️) and on comes a program called "Let's Pretend"!✌😀👍
All I can recall in particular is the theme tune/chorus (of just - "Let's Pretend" repeated three or four times) but what's firmly in my mind is a cardboard cut-out of a shark bobbing across the screen on cardboard waves, whilst somebody crooks the aforementioned "Let's pretend, let's pretend... Let's pretend, let's pretend..." Etc.
Are there any other English people of a certain age who can remember THAT kids show? Between say, 40 and 50years old?!🤷🏻♂️🤔🤗
I just realized that the sims 4 should add a parenting class for first time parents if the parenting class isn’t in the sims world already 😅
