You know, the word "abstract" is used incorrectly. It is realistic because it's based of a real thing, a face, in this case. The fact that it doesn't look like it doesn't mean it's abstract, and you know it's a face. It would be abstract if you didn't know it was a face, and if it was hard to understand, but you do understand, so it's not.

It's called the Rorschach test (ink blots) and it's basically completely useless. No one could come to a consensus on what seeing what means*, so unless you're constantly saying the ink blots look like your mother stabbing a pillow, it won't tell you much. They're very fun to make though and you should try it sometime
*For example one psychologist might say that you seeing a butterfly makes you carefree, but another might think you feel oppressed and yurn for freedom, ect.
