    Very very good performance when brake applied...around 8.15 sec to 100km and from 80-120 around 5.5 sec,for this horsepower and all time 4x4 its great to see this dynamics !

    The "manual mode" seems a bit half baked here... Nothing like the one in the Forester XT or Impreza WRX, so it's best to let the engine whine at the sweet spot to get optimal performance

    I've owned a 1,6 now for 2 years and the CVT is not that bad as long as you drive in Sport mode. I live in a mountain area and driving uphill in Intelligent mode is a real pain as you constantly lose speed (you need to floor the pedal sometimes), but in S mode it maintains the speed much better because of a higher RPM and quicker response. Downside is the increase in fuel usage...

      @Kelsric Před 2 lety

      given that there is a 2.0 option do you feel in great proportion that one should get the one with a bigger engine instead or the 1.6 is just fine?

    • @straycat6666
      @straycat6666 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Kelsric The 1.6 is just fine if you compare it to it's rivals in the same category (like your everyday grocery hauler), but with it's sporty looks and Subaru's reputation it's more suitable with a 2.0 engine I think. The 1.6 is mostly there to comply with strict environmental regulations here in Europe

    Thank you very much for the video, very interesting. I'm the owner of a Levorg for a month now, and really do not like the virtual gears in AUTO mode. How did you activate the "CVT" mode in your video ? Is starting with brake applied the key ? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    I bought this car 2years ago. In my opinion, this engine is very smart because it can save fuel also it has big power. I think it is enough to drive in Japan. However CVTs are NOT enjoyable. So I hope manual transmission is released in the near future.

      Well for not sliding wheels it is, But when you talk about CVT all here are people driving around at 200km/H and doing 0-100 at every stoplight. But I'm 100% sure they don't get the correct gear on mountain roads because they are only good going around the blocks......

  • @Noi5ee

    CVT aren't that bad, put putting virtual gears on them eliminates any of the performance advantages they can potentially offer.

    • @sic22l

      There is no performance advantage from CVTs. They're painfully slow.

    • @NewLondonMarshall

      @@sic22l f1 used cvt before. and it was banned due to its being so easy. cvts can hold the maximum torque without dropping when accelerating. and best of all, dont have to change gear at all.

    • @sic22l
      @sic22l Před 5 lety

      What CVT has to do is to change ratios without bogging the engine or hurting itself and that's where it's very inefficient. That's why the WRX loses over a second when equipped with CVT. That's why all cars with CVT have rubbish towing ratings.

    Why have Subaru not put this engine in the XV, Forester or Impreza hatch instead of the 1.6i and 2.0i NA engines (in the UK) ? None of them are sports cars, they arent designed for that and personally I really like the NA engines with their linear acceleration curve and ability to last a bloody long time, but guess there is a reason. Its odd though, in the same way Toyota put the 1.5 NA engine in the Yaris instead of the 1.2T

    Very good video! Love these performancevids so you can see the difference between cars. But i'm sorry to say, this Subaru seems to be very slow. 80-120 in 3'rd gear in around 7s? I once hade a Toyota Corolla with 110hp that made it in 6,5, and that car was no racer. My previous V40 T4 did it in 4,3s, and 2,6s when tuned. I think the Levorg would need at least 230hp to be the performance car that it looks like it would be.
