Speed got me into cars. As a little kid, I sat with my dad watching all the best automotive shows such as Pimp My Ride, Monster Garage, etc. Without Speed, I don't know if I'd be as much into cars as I am now. Thank you Speed.
I remember when FS1 started, I tried to get used to it but it just wasn’t “Speed.” They barely broadcasted any racing events due to the influx of viewers watching football or baseball. Usually when there was a race broadcast, I would take it for granted and watch it. But now, TV isn’t just the same without Speed. Thanks for the memories as always.
When FS1 started they had a "Sports Center" program called: "FOX Sports Live". That show was a complete failure to the point it didn't even last beyond 2015! NASCAR RaceDay stopped going to racetracks regularly after 2013, they stopped going COMPLETELY after the 2015 season. What did we lose SPEED Channel for? Absolutely nothing.

SPEED had fallen off dramatically in the final few years. About 50% of what was shown were reruns of Pinks. However, when live racing was on, it was clear who was the best. FS1 has been a good channel, but SPEED could have stayed.
I watched World Rally Championship religiously on speed. stopped watching when all of the attention switched to NASCAR. All the other stuff dropped off. Off-road, rally, everything else just faded away
Im a Gear head by heart. Speed channel was my first choice for anything automobile. I remember my favorite show American Muscle Car. I recorded many episodes. thank God for Velocity channel. Speed was better though.
NASCAR 88 in my area in sault st. marie on Canada it was Fox Sports for a little bit about a week and then they got rid of the channel all together the number missing now
10 years on this day Speed closed. It was great when it started when they had all kinds of motorsport events (F1, WRC, Champcar, WSBK, etc). By the end it became the NASCAR channel and full of reruns of automotive shows. Still, when FOX killed the channel off, it was liked they stopped caring about racing.

Back in the mid 90's, Before Direct tv and Dish. Had this service called Prime Star. That would be my introduction to the Speed Channel. Spend a many of Saturday's and Sundays watching the Speed Channel. Lots of good memories. Retired now.

It was really emotional seeing Spped sign off for one last time before becoming Fox Sports 1 (Now FS1). I was heartbroken when Speed was ceasing operations for good before becoming Fox Sports 1. Speed was the channel i grew up on.
Still to this day, it just pisses me off. As soon as Speed went away, I just quit watching all together. Fox Sports 1 just wasn't the same. They say that much more of your favorites will be coming along with us, that was not entirely true. Fox Sports 1 was just a sports channel, for racing, basketball, football, and others, but what about my favorites, the side shows like Pimp My Ride, Monster Jam, Wrecked, and others, well they forgot about though's didn't they. I think they only done it because they were just sick, and tired of the name, it's like when they started as Speed Vision, later they stuck with Speed, now they go, and throw that in the trash, and go for the worst, Fox Sports 1, what a stupid decision. At this point I'm so glad I have my Nintendo DS game Monster Jam to remember my favorite channel, Speed.

I knew it was a matter of time before foreign Speed went away. The reason they didn't go FS1 all over is, foreign broadcasting rights/legal stuff is like a Track and Field meet. Lots of Hurdles.
I just remember on nascar race weekends my grandfather use to keep it on speed for the whole darn weekend until it was time for the race itself then he switched it over to that network but they were legit the best option to go to for all the nascar updates throughout the weekend between the race news and everything else in between
Speed Channel fucked up because all they would play is nascar and shows about american cars and trucks. There was never anything about exotic cars or European cars. Always the same boring american car shows. They didnt even have Top Gear USA or UK version WTF. Also trying to find a replay of a MotoGP race or anything about street bikes was IMPOSSIBLE. Now we have another channel dedicated to fucking football 24-7 just great.
The thing with top gear UK is that it was already airing on BBC and they had F1 and Australian V8 supercars they had variety FS1 is the one who is screwed up
When I wasn't watching soccer id be watching racing, and as a kid Speed was my channel. I remember even when I was babysat by my grandmother and grandfather at times, I would tell them to watch the Busch Series or craftsman truck series with them, or the Nextel sprint cup whatever was on, didn't matter if it was practice, qualifying or the actual race. The drag racing, motocross too and monster jam was another personal favourite of mine. Oh the memories

Frankly why couldn't Fox have kept Speed as the motorsport division of Fox Sports 1 (and maybe drop all the other stupid programs they were airing on it and just focus on the actual racing) and have Fox Sports 1 broadcast all other sports? If anyone's wondering I hope to bring the Speed Channel back in the future, using the same logo, same theme, same everything basically, if Fox will let me at least. And yes, it WILL broadcast ONLY motorsports and not motorsport programs (except for maybe something like Fox's NASCAR Race Hub) or anything else really. Chances are this new Speed will mostly focus on just NASCAR and not that much on other motorsports.

I miss the speed channel I don’t like Fox Sports 1 it has some boring shows on there in my opinion even though there’s still nascar shows on there but all the car shows I watched are pretty much gone.
My channel stayed on Speed 24/7 unless there was a race going on another channel. MavTV is now the channel I watch for Motorsports but I still really miss Speed!

Loved pinks. My dad actually got a real nice tix package through speed and Watkins glen for the 2012 race. My first and will never forget it

Frankly why couldn't Fox have kept Speed as the motorsport division of Fox Sports 1 (and maybe drop all the other stupid programs they were airing on it and just focus on the actual racing) and have Fox Sports 1 broadcast all other sports? Seems like the logical thing to do if you ask me.
P.S. If anyone's wondering I hope to bring the Speed Channel back in the future, using the same logo, same theme, same everything basically, if Fox will let me at least. And yes, it WILL broadcast ONLY motorsports and not motorsport programs (except for maybe something like Fox's NASCAR Race Hub) or anything else really. Chances are this new Speed will mostly focus on just NASCAR and not that much on other motorsports.

Well that was a complete lie. NASCAR RaceDay stopped going to the racetracks after the 2015 season.

I miss the speed channel I don’t like Fox Sports 1 it has some boring shows on there in my opinion even though there’s still nascar shows on there but all the car shows I watched are pretty much gone.

My channel stayed on Speed 24/7 unless there was a race going on another channel. MavTV is now the channel I watch for Motorsports but I still really miss Speed!
I used to watch this with my grandparents and parents,now it's replaced by the shitty Fox sports,which isn't like it anymore.God bless you speed channel,you still remain in our memories.

Although Speed came back earlier this year with its original name (Speedvision), it is currently not as great as it was back in the day.
