The newer aged WRX's just don't sound the same. Some Subies sound pretty rad with an equal length header but the exhaust has to be just right, otherwise its like a large bore Honda. (Honda's make great cars don't get me wrong. I can't believe how incredibly smooth their transmissions are compared to my 2011 wrx!)
