ProAc’s sounded much more refined, but i guess that’s a mic / replay thing. I have ProAc D2 and will probably never change these, but i would consider a tablette anniversary for smaller 2nd room system.
Thanks for your time in setting this up... Its always useful to hear sound tests ( even over CZcams , mics etc.). Vintage hifi brands are my interrest. Cheers, great stuff .
While I agree they both sound great I honestly enjoyed listening to the Pro - Ac speakers the most even on You Tube you could tell there was a better sound stage with really good dynamics.
LS3/5A sounds thinner, a bit shouty at times, Proac is fuller, more dynamic. That’s just my opinion based on CZcams clip - what’s your opinion ? Great content, keep up the good work !
Wasn't even close for me. The LS3/5As conveyed far more information, far more musically. A slam dunk win, for me at least. Thanks Kev. Interesting comparison.
On the second listening, LS3/5A has a much more presence and natural sounding bass/mids transition area. Perhaps that may be the result of a slightly over accented treble of Tablettes, which could relatively suppress the bass/mids transition frequency perception. In any case, as I experienced with Super Tablettes, the mentioned imbalance can be partially adjusted by optimizing digital and analog cabling, and amp- & DAC-matching: a key factor when using relatively "brighter" Tablettes.
Such a drastic difference between the two. I don't know which I prefer... I think I'd like the LS3/5 over the ProAc (but would prefer if it had more in the lower registers). The ProAcs sound muted by comparison. (Yes, I realize this is just a YT vid. I get it).
I have tablette anniversary and they dont sound like that for sure. The highs seem off. I love mine and I can't find anything 13" sounded as good. The bass for such a small speaker is stronger than others their size. The LS3 sound more open but I would get ear fatigue listening to trumpets on that speaker lol.
Listening on AKG 240 'phones, not the most revealing, I found the tablette bass as recorded here thuddy, muffled, resonant and dominant, ruining the sound - very obviously a pair of speakers and not the real thing. A friend's more recent pair of small ProAc speakers (I don't remember which model) have a more refined version of this problem - the bass deep and full for small speakers still has this resonant quality which I find ultimately too 'speakerish'.
I liked the fuller sound of the ProAcs better. StereoreviewX once played his Rogers Ls3/5a in comparison with another larger speaker (can't remember which) It's bass sounded much more extended than your KEF version (I bit too much I thought for such a small speaker). I'll try to find the video.
D1N02. It’s the recording my friend.. I don’t know why!? But I just couldn’t get the Kef’s to sound halfway decent. Everyone knows bass isn’t the LS3/5a’s strongest attribute 😉
great test. ls3/5a it's a little boomy in that setup, I'm sure it will sound better in real life, as the mics tend to catch weird stuff. anyway, thanks for sharing... more celestion! no quads? 😁
LS3/5A is way better, more clarity and detail. the box sound of Proac is more obvious which gives an impression of strong bass, but it sounds too muffle to me. thanks for the comparison.
I would add that Proac Super Tablette, rather than the original Tablette would be a more fair comparison. It's worth noting that the typical Super Tablette, designated sometimes as Super Tablette 2, uses 4-screw mounted tweeter and a smoother crossover implemented by Joachim Gerhard from Audio Physic. That upgraded tweeter is the same as the one used in the more expensive Proac Response 1 speaker. Proac Super Tablette 1 uses a 3-screw mounted tweeter which is also used in the original Tablette. It would be very useful to compare Tablette to Super Tablette 2.
I used it on a Proac tablet, I'm currently using Falcon ls3/5a, both are great speakers for their price. I don't think it will be a fair comparison due to the price difference, ls3/5a plays much better naturally. Falcon ls3/5a can be compared with Proac D2R.
@@dittonworks I see, been listening to Wharfedale Denton 80th for years, planning next for ProAc speakers, something like ProAc Response DB1, but might try the Tablete 10 as near field desk setup first consider it's bass light and easier for placement.
They both sound great. I think I'd have a slight preference for the Pro Ac Tablettes, but either would do for me.

Like the sound of the LS3/5a here, Thanks Kevin nice video

That’s a fair analysis. The Kef LS3/5a were very forward in the mids. The Falcons I own now would easily match and probably best the Tablette’s.
I like the proacs for my taste 👍👍

Although I totally agree.
The baby ProAc do sound good in the flesh..
this was impossibly hard to record.. thanks for watching mate
I agree, to me they also sounded much more coherent overall
The LS3/5a do come over extremely well amazing and such a old speaker now . Cant beat great british Hifi
Prefer the ProAc on this test.
this is great!!!! the proacs are 1300 used, the ls35as are 2500 and up.
tough call which to get :)

LS3/5a smashed leterally Proac.., incredible. Top accuracy, timbric, sound clarity and slim sound grain..
LS3/5A Win!

@@dittonworks found it. In retrospect the bass maybe missing from those beovoxes. czcams.com/video/Yqt1H3wRwGk/video.html
@@D1N02 cheers for the link.
I think reggae is the answer here 😉
Proac win🎉🎉🎉

Alas, I don’t have ESL’s.
You’re correct, the mic 🎤 wouldn’t record the LA3/5a very well?? They sound really good in person 👍👍
The LS35A is a much "musical" speaker. The bass is augmented by that 200 cycle hump built into the crossover.
LS3/5a's for me, the overall sound was better, they filled the room better.

Thanks for the comparison video.
No worries 😉
Paper can't beat bextrene. Ls3/5 more transparent and dynamic. And timbres are cleaner.
which speaker is good,
proac tablettle 1 win?
I would add that Proac Super Tablette, rather than the original Tablette would be a more fair comparison. Yes 👍 very nice speakers
Slightly favour the proac, what is that music, sounds like a 70s x movie 😂
Which ProAc's are these - the Tablette Anniversary? I have the Tablette 2000's and they are the nicest speakers I've ever owned. Incredible!
Original Tablette’s 👌
I used it on a Proac tablet, I'm currently using Falcon ls3/5a, both are great speakers for their price. I don't think it will be a fair comparison due to the price difference, ls3/5a plays much better naturally. Falcon ls3/5a can be compared with Proac D2R.
I have Falcon too. They absolutely sounded better than the Kef in this video.
LS3/5 sound bigger then it's looks
Why not the latest ProAc Tablette 10/10S?
Unfortunately I have to buy the speaker’s I review. Haven’t found any 10’s at a good price this month, sorry maybe next time 👍

In the video? Ls3/5a
