I feel a tremendous sense of compassion for the citizens of North korea. It's horrible they are living in such a state just because they have an egomaniacal lunatic for a leader.

I hope to some day visit too. It looks like all tourists usually stay at the same hotels. I guess it's no shocker that there aren't many hotels to choose from there. One of the most corrupt and evil places on earth. So bad I want to see it for myself.

    • @4grammaton
      @4grammaton Před 10 lety +7

Calling a place "one of the most corrupt and evil places on earth" when you've never been there sounds like serious brainwashing to me.
I'm not saying everything is hunky dory in NK, but I find it ironic that people in the US and Europe don't realise that their countries are just as subject to state propaganda as a place like NK, if not more. A weak country like NK has far less money to spend on propaganda than the US.
Honestly, I think a lot of North Koreans are less brainwashed nowadays than many Western citizens. I say this because I can compare with the USSR, where my family is from.
Americans thought that the Soviet people were totally brainwashed and knew nothing about the world around them, and yet they kept repeating that mantra over and over again until it seemed like an irrefutable fact. And yet I know many Russians born and raised in the USSR who read Hemingway, Dickens and knew more about world literature, film, and even American economics than most Europeans (albeit up to a certain time period). If you tried to disagree with a Western citizen that the USSR was not full of brainwashed zealots, they would brand you stupid, crazy, or a commie.
Today you could hear a story on the news or on some website which would say something like "Half of North Korea dead" or "Kim Jong Un orders execution of primary schoolers" and I bet people wouldn't even bat an eyelid. Nobody questions news about North Korea, no matter how fake it could be.
Peoples' perception of this country is just as ridiculous as they think the country is.
By the 1980s most young people in the USSR already had a good understanding of their regime and the outside world. I wouldn't be surprised if modern North Koreans have underground sources of information about it too, and understand much more than we give them credit for. Honestly, looking at these videos, I see healthy, normal human beings going about their lives. I see a girl with her friend laughing in the subway, a girl doing something on her mobile phone, people reading books.
If North Koreans don't understand that they're being brainwashed, the same goes for people here who unquestioningly believe it.

    • @4grammaton
      @4grammaton Před 10 lety +1

***** Thank you very much for your reply. I can see you feel very strongly about this subject and I respect what you say. I ask you to break your writing into paragraphs in the future, because it is difficult for me to understand everything you say when you write large blocks of text. It is hard for me to follow your thoughts when your sentences are not logically tied together.
I will now try to address all your points successively:
" theres alot of people like you in america that dont believe north korea is like that they are called leftists you idiot."
As far as I know, all major political parties in the US have an unfavorable view of North Korea, to say the least. I am sure there are people and left-wing parties who are skeptical about what the media tells them, but there are many, many more who believe it. As far as I know, most American citizens today see "North Korea" as synonymous with "totalitarianism" and "corruption".
"and dont think you are smart just because you believe this these topics like north korea are purposely perpetuated by the governments the create distractions, divisions and déceptions so that people can fight themselves."
Why do you assume that I think I am "smart" for realising that?
"contrary to common thought it actually expands state life expectancy then decrease it"
Could you please explain how this happens? I don't understand how it "expands state life expectancy" and then "decreases" it.
"people like you are still living in the past with the external view fallacy where you think that everything impacted must come from the outside."
I did not say anything about this. Could you please explain what you mean by this "external view fallacy"? Could you say when I used it?
"Their false notion of freedom of speech... it makes you not want to experience other scenarios and so you only feel free when you speak but then when you dont or are contradicted, you feel like you are not free, if they were not think like this they would not be always shouting and being so rash in the first place."
I disagree. Yes, if you don't use your rights, there is a higher chance they will be taken away from you. But that doesn't mean that people feel pressured to say things just because they can. And being contradicted does NOT make you feel less free. In fact, it makes you feel MORE free, because the person who is contradicting you is using his right of free speech. A French philosopher said this: "I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". At the same time, not saying anything is also free speech. You have the right to say something, and you have the right NOT to say anything. It's the same right.
" if people can compromise they can be much freer. if they were to compromise with the situation they can regain their past wanted freedom and again become more free at the moment."
Compromise and Freedom of speech are different ideas. You can compromise and have freedom of speech at the same time. If you do not have freedom of speech, that means you will be punished for saying things that other people do not want you to say. Then there is no compromise.
You are trying to explain why Americans are often "rash". The reason for this is not their right of free speech. There are historical and ethnic factors that have shaped their mentality, just like historical and ethnic factors have shaped Korean mentality. It has nothing to do with "fear of losing free speech."
" the propaganda in the us does not work in the way you think it is. it does not work the same as north korean propaganda that goes to one subject."
Why do you think that I don't understand how propaganda in the US works? I know that it is different from North Korean propaganda. That was not the point of the discussion. What I wanted to say was that propaganda exists both in the US and in North Korea. I think you agree with that.
"do not think that america in the 1950s were bad they were actually better than now."
I never said that I thought the 1950s in America were bad. Why do you say that I don't understand things when I understand them?
"an increasing number of americans have distrust over the news. this contradicts what you have just said, instead the americans of today only look at it but then look at other views."
You are right. Perhaps I am wrong to use my notions of the previous century regarding this one. That is a valid point. But, the topic we were discussing was propaganda. The US government uses as much propaganda as it did back then. Maybe you are right that it doesn't work as well today as it used to. I don't disagree with that.
"what do you mean nobody questions it i have seen many people on youtube like you"
The majority of people still don't question it. You have seen many people who question it, but I have seen MANY more people who don't. It was a generalisation, but it was an accurate generalisation.
" now you must do something you have never heard of which is not promoting north korea in that communist fashion."
You have misunderstood me. I don't support communist North Korea. I never said I supported it. In fact, we were not discussing the political system in North Korea. We were discussing propaganda and whether it was an "evil" place.
" north koreans are also not communists they were for like 10 years until 1955 they had juche in 1972 complete in practice de jure removal to juche in 2009 de facto remove all symbols."
I was not aware of this. Thank you very much for informing me.
" it tells people to not have external influence like americans but seek their own salvation, stability unlike the stalin and mao révolutions like every 5 years kill 50 million people, a non antagonistic hierarchy "
You told me that "I am falling into a trap", and that my notions are wrong. But it seems you are falling into the same trap and you do not realise it. You are the victim of the same propaganda as many other people. First of all, Stalin did not lead a revolution. The revolution was led by Lenin. Also, where did you hear that 50 million people died every five years during Stalin's revolution? Did someone tell you this? Do you know that only 650 000 people were executed during Stalin's time? Do you know that Stalin tried to make the USSR free of external influence? Did you know that it was only thanks to Stalin that the USSR found its own salvation?
You think that you are right and I am wrong, and yet you spread the same lies as everyone else. Why do you think that?
" juche is a confucian ideology, mostly rooted from confucianism, very similar aspects like how it emphasize self reliance, the family, inner peace which is in accord with self reliance...diversity in ability and needs not same for all people, and being balanced, helping each other, good leadership, and that poor will be treated well to their ability and need."
The Juche ideology is a very good ideology. Confucian values are very important. It looks like you respect the Confucian ideology. I believe that patience and respect are important for Confucianists. But for some reason you called me an idiot two times in your comments, even though I did not insult you. I don't think that I showed any ignorance in my comment, so I don't understand why you insulted me. Is that what you call "being balanced" and "helping each other"?
You have written a lot in your reply to me, and I have tried my best to address everything you said and to be respectful to you.
Can I ask you to do the same for me?
      Again, thank you very much.
Also, if you don't mind me asking: are you from North Korea yourself?

great video. it seems like a horror movie with all those empty buildings. stores with nothing on sale. no cars. one hotel for tourists. one tv channel and no internet for the majority to know what is truly going on in the world. think of all the money they could make on top of what it wastes on its elite and defence instead of living standards. it needs a proper system in place, and pretending to have a 30 year old in charge of everything is not helping.

I seen similar things at my childhood and school years in Soviet Union. Same gray color of everything, except polished places for tourists and heads of elite. Mediocre public services for masses, regular shortages of some type of goods, including food and propaganda backed with security service, to keep people in line. However North Korea is taking it at very extreme - this is more like to Stalin Era at middle of 20th century. I want to thank the author of those video - he seriously risked and would been in big trouble if he would be caught.

KoRadar1953 did it seem from your point of view that the country has this lifeless feeling to it, sort of depressing, endless winter? It just looks like a typical Communist era city, square buildings, square plazas, everything is uniform but very dim, dark, grey. Hi KoRadar1953 , your video is quite informative. You have great attention to detail :) I got new bits of information from your video that I didn't get from any other NK video on CZcams. For instance, you spoke about those concrete blocks that can be used for stopping tanks and armored vehicles, then the DMZ details, and the fact that the North Korean DMZ trip was rather dull compared to the South. O yes! And also that the restaurant doesn't revolve, there's nothing to see outside the window but darkness and hallways kept in dark to save electricity. Whew! What a country this is :( I live in India. Despite its monstrous drawbacks, India is a far better country that North Korea. India may be underdeveloped but it is fully democratic, with complete freedom of speech and expression, freedom of the press and media, freedom to buy anything you like and travel anywhere you want to, freedom to use the internet and curse the government's policies in chatrooms and various online forums (one blogger was even publicly praised by the ruling government for criticizing its policies)... I could go on and on :) And last but not the least, I can enjoy a total of 500 channels - both national and international - on TV, unlike in North Korea where they have just one or two channels for beaming state propaganda.

Yes. Actually, their Great Leader even has a black friend. Dennis Rodman, a pretty famous black basketballer from the US, went to North Korea to celebrate Mr Kim Jong Un's birthday. Search it up.

+KoRadar1953 Your person is claiming a DPRK guide had openly expressed to your person that traces of dog meat were within one's soup? The scenario appears to be highly unlikely.
